Detailed Reviews
We have stayed in Kampoeng villa for 8 days. It was such an amazing experience! The staff was really friendly, so welcoming, every time we needed something extra, they brought us everything we need (water, frying pans etc). When I was ill, I even asked the staff to go and buy me something in the supermarket and he was so sweet, he brought me everything I needed. The villas are always very clean, and they always come for cleaning at a convenient time. The villas have an aura of tranquility, it is so quiet here even when they have a lot of guests, we often meditated next to the pool. The area is beautiful and very green, an amazing mix between Balinese and modern style. One of our rooms had a big bath and it was perfect for a salt bath after the jungle heat or rainy days in Bali. Next time we visit Bali, we would love to stay here again! Bali Buda is within 3 walking mins and Pepito supermarket is very close, as we often wanted to cook at the villa.

We check in was smooth and greet by fornt counter with smile.. and show us the villa(MUNGGU VILLA) without delay time .. we was so pleased as the villa was huge!!"the kitchen the hall the pool and especially the 2 bedroom was super comfortable and the bathtub and the wash room was to my expectation! Only problem is my trip was the stairs to the room is quite troublesome as our room is on the second level and for elderly like my mom.. other then that the villa was perfectly 100percent yes for me n hubby and kids.. the staff was superhelpful and very friendly too! And the pool is quite warm when we go for swim at 9pm after our outing.. will be back again for sure..

This place is an absolute disaster. We spent a year there with our family and regret it every day. Nothing there is as it appears in the pictures. Rats on the roof, rats in the bathroom, any reported issues are addressed sluggishly, if at all. Cleaning the pool consists of a guy coming every few days and dumping a huge amount of chlorine, which of course renders the water unfit for swimming. Eternal issues with the air conditioning; it's seen better days, maybe 10 years ago! Overall, extremely unpleasant service and unfriendly staff. The house is in a deplorable condition, begging for renovation for years. So, the photos on the listing were taken when the houses were new, about 10 or more years ago.

Hello Maciek, Thanks a lot for your review on TripAdvisor. It so suprise for me that you write it on Tripadvisor after one year stay with us. We always try our best with limited staff that we have right now, which was mentioned on the contract. About rat, its happened last 2 month of your stay, which we have been solved it with our staff and pest control as well, personally also been offered to move to the other unit but you refuse it. Term and conditions of Yearly contract stay with value price that was agreed and signed before you stay which mentioned that you have to look after our villa like your home but in fact the villa after one year stay make our villa so so dirty at all because you never taking care our villa. Until today, after checking out on 10 March, we still do deep cleaning because of bad smell and so dusty everywhere. In regards of pool, we cant do treatment because you almost not turn on the pool at least 2hours everyday, its keeping off for 3 - 4 days and only on 1hour while you need it, it make us so difficult. We have in total 12 villas in Kampoeng villa and only happening in your unit because you are not following the rules and regulation on contract. Wishing you have a nice stay in your current villa. Have a great day, Management

Most disappointed with this place. It was filty from the top to the bottom
Green algae floating in and on pool tiles, lounge chairs stained and dirty.
The stove was so dirty it could not have been used before being cleaned. The tiles behind stove were covered in grease..There was no cleaning equipment in the cupboards anyways.
Cob webs, floor not washed for some time. Staines which looked like tea/coffee spillage around the kitchen table area on floor. One area on floor near interior steps had the markings of what could have been blood...?? The kitchen benches had areas of grease & dirt.
The bed sheets were obviously stained and looked grotty - defiantly could not have slept on them. The air con flaps had mould growing.
Wall area near light switches, had water stains which there had been an attempt to be repaired - patch up was dreadful looking - paint peeling off.
Generally a dirty, filthy unliveable accommodation
Consequently we left and found our own elsewhere..
The Manger was called and she inspected the property. Admitted was not checked prior and was apologetic, however the damage was already done.
Asked how old property was, as we were thinking it was old and just in disrepair - advised only 3 years old !!!

It was my first time travelling to Bali and I've chosen to stay 5D4N at Kampoeng Villa. I am more of a city person and for some bizarre reason, I'd forgotten about that until I arrived. Needless to say, I did not really enjoy the trip as there is actually very little for me to do in Bali (I am not a beach person, nor am I into surfing). I decided on the trip simply because of all the positive feedback I've heard from those who'd been (silly me!). The worst thing is, I had stupidly invited a new friend to join me (I did not know him very well) and let's just say that we didn't get on that well, to put it mildly.
Based on the above-mentioned, you would be forgiven to think that I had a lousy time in Bali. The thing is, I didn't have a lousy time in Bali. Yes, I was eager to go home. Yes, I was eager to sleep in my own bed. Yes, I didn't like Bali at all, but why didn't I have a lousy time then?
The answer, I realised after I got home, is because of the staff in Kampoeng Villa. The level of service they provided me with (I cannot speak for my travelling companion) during my stay was just unbelievable. What's special about it? Get this:
1. A cleaning staff who had completed his task in my villa returned to personally assist me to get on the hotel's wifi.
2. When I didn't feel like going out to the bar (I no longer drink alcohol and I do not club anymore), some of them kept me company by the pool in my villa until I went to bed.
3. On a late night when their kitchen had closed and I had no food in my villa, one of them took me on his motorbike to the mini market to get something to eat.
4. On another night, knowing that I would be alone if I returned to the villa (the friend had gone out to the bars in Seminyak), the staff insisted I stayed and socialise with them in the reception area.
All that happened in addition to the usual things that they are expected to do (keep the villas clean, make sure we have what we want, be helpful to us, point us in the right direction as to where we want to go, etc.) I personally have never experience a group of hotel/resort staff who are as friendly, helpful, kind and thoughtful as these guys. They turned what would have been a horrible trip for me to a memorable one. I am still a city person, but if I ever need to shut the world out for a couple of days, I will definitely return to Kampoeng Villa again simply because of the extent to which the staff would go to accommodate the guests and what they want. It's refreshing, it's memorable, but most of all, it's one hell of a game-changer.
Oh and in case you are wondering about the usual stuff like the room and facilities in the villa, the pool, the food, the other services they provide (the massage, for example) etc., they were all good. The bed was in tip-top form, the bedroom was of an adequate size, and the bathroom was enormous with a spacious shower separated from the bathtub and breakfast arrives right on the dot at the time you specify.
So, if you ever want a place to go to disconnect from it all, to recharge, etc., make sure this Kampoeng Villa in Bali is near the top of your list of accommodation.

I stayed at Kampoeng Villa Bali for 4 nights. I have been to Bali but stayed at several different hotels. This is the first time I had a family holiday with my wife and three kids. The trip from Ngurah Rai airport to Kampoeng Villa is about 40 minutes including the slight traffic jam. The villa location is peaceful. Away from the hussle and bustle of town area crowds. Anyone can find peace at the villa. The living and dining area is spacious. All rooms are equipped with LCD TV and DVD player. All sleeping rooms are spacious. The bathroom are adequate. The main bedroom bathroom is luxury. The private pool area is cozy. One will not fail to feel the closeness to nature. All the staff are friendly and helpful. They are prompt in rendering any assistance you may require. The meals are served in the villa. The staff presented the meals on the large dining table lighted with a large chandelier most excellently. I am not the kind to complaint much, but I do have some feedback to give. The private pool is adequate for an adult but children may need constant supervision as it may be too deep for them. Kampong Villa may want to upkeep the pool water more frequently. I was staying at villa Nyanyi and the water is slightly murky. I can understand the occasional leaves as there are many plants near the pool that makes the pool area looks naturistic. But a small filtration system inplace would solve this problem. The mosquito problem I read in the other reviews are being worked out by the villa. I did not find any problems with insect. Good job. Keep it up. The next small erk I have is the locality. True the villa is away from the busy crowded area of Bali, but it may prove a little too far for holiday makers to travel around. Jalan Legian may take about 30 minutes to get to. The Kuta Beach is around the same time to get to by taxi. And places like Tanah Lot or Jimbaran may take longer. And to get to Nusa Dua may take even longer. There are no other facilities at the villa that you may find in other hotels, as such you need to travel to get to other facilities like the beach, shopping area, night scenes, restaurant or mini marts. Yes the hotel do provide free shuttle service to Seminyak Town. But they do not ferry you on your return journey. And there are times that the shuttle service is not available as the vehicle is used to ferry guest to and from the airport. Food is cheap and value for money but they do not serve after 10pm and the menu could be quite limited. This villa is excellent for honeymooners and families who do not wish to venture much around Bali. Kampong Villa is an excellent place to just chill, relax and enjoy the peace and calmness of Bali.

Stayed 3 nights at this beautiful villa. Living and working in Indonesia I've seen and been to quite a few villas before but Kampoeng Villa is truly something special.
The villa is absolutely gorgeous: spacious, modern yet "homely", the colors and materials are very well chosen and just stepping in I could feel myself winding down and getting into a proper holiday mode.
The entrance with the wood carved Balinese door is beautiful, you have your own car/ motorbike parking area which is great. The outside pool area is private, secluded, the outdoor shower and sun beds fantastic.
The downstairs area is tiled, expensive materials which have been used for the kitchen, wooden furniture and floors give the whole room a luxurious touch. There is several seating areas, big tv, air con as well as fan, kitchen is equipped for basic cooking, small fridge is also available.
My favorite part of the villa was the upstairs area. The staircase is huge, another wood carved door opens towards a cosy but again very luxurious living/ bed room. The colors are warm and elegant, the courtains to the bed room make it a little separate "hideaway", the wooden couch with all the cushions and pillows is comfortable and invites to watch DVDs or TV all day long.
Absolute highlight is the bathroom: it covers the entire length of the building, has a free-standing bath tub which is big enough for two people, a spacious shower with glas windows/doors, beautiful lightning and the finishing on the glass "walls" is incredible.
Service is amazing, staff is incredibly friendly, breakfast is served wherever you would like to eat in the villa. It's fresh, well presented, perfect!
Absolutely enjoyed my stay, I will be back...

I stay here with my husband & my son. This villa very spacious, has 2 floor. But very very very dirty, has a lot cobweb, the floor is very very dusty & has a lot hair at the floor. This villa like never occupied.
First day when we stay, the lights off 3 times. 2nd day, 2 times.
When I take a bath, the water also off, & I need to call reception.
On 2nd night, the bathroom has leaked out, don't know from where.
This villa really really makes me crazy.
We booked for 4 nights, but on 3rd day, we move out to another villa.
DON'T EVER COME TO THIS VILLA..!!!!!!!!

Dear Value Guest, It is our most regret that The Family of Santi Suliandjo last stay with us was not a pleasant one. We are deeply sorry to the miss-unfortunate incident with the toilet blockage and few mishaps happening in the villa during your stay. Without undermining all the discomforts you might be experiencing, we believe all efforts have been offered to help you and your families to ease the discomfort from proposing moving to another villa, extra cleanings as well as complimentary dinner and spa treatment. we even designated 3 staffs to fully supervised the villa during your stay. Which unfortunately, none of them seem to be acceptable to you. At Kampoeng Villa, we would like to set the record straight by showing you facts of what happened during your stay: 16 October 2013 The first night, you and your husband spent a bit of time at the reception areas, inquiring lots of question regarding who are the owners of the villas, how long the villas have been built, where all the printing materials done, where to get the logo done and all detail questions. Which all these questions answered very professionally by our staffs. Yous start making a comment about small cob web in the corner of the window, which was addressed straight away by our butler. The head butler made a notes to all butler to put more attention to the guests and requested 3 butlers to do the clean up of the villa for the next morning. Date 17 October 2013 The 2nd complaint came in the next afternoon re toilet blocked. Again this is addressed straight away. There was nothing serious, just a couple of pumps, the toilet runs normal again. On that day, there were 2nd power cut from the PLN (Electricity Company), and our back up genset took about 10second to get the energy going. Even these promptness, resulting a severe complaint from you. Being in Kerobokan area, electricity instability and power cut often happened. The final complaint came when the toilet blocked again. Two maintenance staff were sent to fix the problem, and unfortunately they had to undo the toilet to address the problem. It seems that something really "stubborn" stuck in between pipes. This is a situation where could happen when something was jammed in the toilet. Like ladies pad or small piece of cloth. At this point, we were gently offering you to switch to another villa, which was turn down by the you. Not even a compensation of such as recovery service were accepted. When you decided to check out early, we arranged the refund for the balance of payment straight away. I am actually sorry for staffs in Kampoeng Villa to endure such a hostile complain from you right to the minutes we refund the balance of the payment. Please be informed, that our report shown that there was NOT a single leakage that we found. On that 2nd day, the villa was cleaned 3 times, and there was NOT a trace of leakage. And technically, there has been NO broken pipe or possibility this could happen, unless the customer overflow the tub or the sink. All the bathrooms are in the 2nd floor.Your review re leakage actually raised more confusion to our staffs and management. At Kampoeng Villa we really value our customers review, however, we value that there have been so many "unfair" review filed by the you. Accidents happened, unfortunately. However, Full report of daily cleaning and engineering activities during your stay were fully checked, and based on thorough investigation, I value that the team worked their utmost efforts to restore the order and to please the customer. All of the reviews from our customers posted on Trip advisors and on our review book, it may not be ALL perfect but it fully indicates that we are striving for best serving our customers. Thanks, Management of Kampoeng Villa
