We really enjoyed our stay here! Friendly and service-minded staff. The location was in a nice and quiet little area called Umalas, surrounded by beautiful green rice fields. Rent a scooter and explore this charming little area! With only a 5-10 min drive you’ll reach some nice spas, restaurants, cafes etc and about 15 min by scooter you’ll reach the more busy Canggu. The villas were good in size, clean and fresh! We enjoyed our own private pool, and the outdoor shower (love it) and bathtub. The daily in-villa breakfast served by the staff was a treat :)

My partner & I went to Bali for the 1st time and stayed at the Lokha Umalas Villas after finding a good deal on booking.com. We whee pleasantly surprised at the great private villa we had for our stay, with our own pool and jacuzzi bath. The staff were also friendly and only negative in this regard would be the massage ladies, who kept laughing and talking during our therapy session. Another negative was the toilet not functioning optimally. But other than that the place is great to stay in and get a local feel.

The last review is grossly unfair and just plain wrong. We are 3 nights into an 8 night stay in a 1bedroom villa. The villa is very clean and well serviced. It is very well appointed and the bed is very comfortable. The staff are attentive and they try to please. The claim that the place is filthy is complete nonsense. There are certainly some minor maintenance issues that require closer attention. For example our glass toilet door would not close and scraped on the floor. It was quickly fixed on request but should have been noticed and fixed earlier. We have only had breakfast from the the restaurant and the menu is extensive and quantity ample. However, the standard could do with some review. A common complaint is that the place is too remote. In fact, it is only 300 m from Jalan Pantai Berawa which is a long road with numerous interesting high quality restaurants, shops, cool cafes and other retailers. The problem is that there is a ravine and small river in between. You must walk north and then along a street that has a bridge to J. P Berawa. A problem is that the street is narrow and very busy with non stop cars and bikes. There is no footpath. So it is not a comfortable walk. The distance via the closest bridge becomes about 800 m. I suggest that visitors download Go Jek app which is like Uber. You can get a car to most places for $1 to $3. It is easy to get a taxi or Go Jek back to Lokha. It is sometimes a wait to get a car to come to Lokha to collect you however. The hotel will arrange to take you to J. Pantai Berawa for $5. Once you are there you have an enormous selection of eateries and shops. The resort should make more effort to promote this in fact and probably offer not just a shuttle to Seminyak but also to the busy and interesting area a mere stones throw away. The Lokha seems to have been built as a luxury get away when the local area was just starting to develop. It is not now 5 star but then it is not that expensive. And the area is great fun if you make the effort and private pools are great as is the main pool. Some have claimed that the pools are dirty. That is also wrong. The surrounds are built of a dark stone and dark green/mottled tiles that appear dirty on first glance. But they are clean and well maintained. So good value and standard especially if you want a relaxing holiday with the opportunity of some very good dining not far away.
