It is truly living the "Life in Amed",
- great friendly people making sure you can totally relax;
- clean and very nice houses (we stayed at no. 1);
- open bathrooms are the best as besides the view this means no mosquitoes (at least...More
We came to Life in Amed for 6 nights with a 6 and 9 year old and stayed in one of the beachfront 2 storey bungalows. Magic. If your after bars, restaurants and shops you may prefer being in the centre of Amed. If you...More
Review has one point taken off for no fridge. We love a fridge. Hotel supplied us with esky.
Despite this this place is by far a hidden gem. The snorkelling straight out from hotel is the best. We went to other beaches and by far...More
We arrived at Life in Amed having spent 6 days in Ubud, and were keen for a change in scenery. This place was amazing. We originally booked into a standard cottage, but after seeing the front villas at sunset, asked if they were vacant (which...More
Stayed for 2 nights at this Boutique Hotel. A beautiful setting right on the beach within a fishing village. Bungalow was rustic but met all our needs. Lovely pool and gardens. Breakfast menu was limited but certainly sufficient. I'm not a fan of buffet breakfasts...More

Apologies, I did not see your question... we are in a safe zone here.. no snakes, that is silly press, not reality. Our days are normal, the tremors have stopped for now..we are behind another mountain and also have protected our rooms and restaurant area and many supplies and water on hand.. In Amed as a safe zone are 3000 evacuees from the slopes of Mt Agung.. spread throughout the area.. a fast boat to Gili will leave our village on Oct 20th and boats should resume shortly after that. We have no idea when the volcano may erupt, for now the biggest dilemma is to find a way guests feel safe enough to return after all the sensational press reports that were not entirely true...
Apologies if we missed you this time..

The little cottages are actually quite roomy and really comfortable. Work fabulously with 2 adults + 2 kids. They have air con and fans. Its such a friendly place if you had one or two things for a fridge they'd probably store them or you can easily order ice / icebucket.
We stay at the Villa Paradiso because its got a lounge (with rather basic couch), outdoor dining and lots of space. You're paying for the extra room, but it does have a tiny fridge. We move the fridge in to the lounge area. I wouldn't pay extra to upgrade just for a fridge, but I would highly recommend the Paradiso because its so lovely! The Paradiso is the better of the 2 bigger villas.
