Detailed Reviews
This is an incredible resort! Small and cozy, the staff is very friendly and took great care of us, our oceanview villa was perfect. We loved having coffee on our porch watching the sun rise over the ocean, and then enjoying the lovely breakfast - included with our room! The dragon fruit smoothie bowl is so tasty, we're still dreaming about it! The restaurant is also great for a nice dinner overlooking the pool and the ocean, listening to the waves. They have spa treatments available in the oceanside gazebo, or there's also a free shuttle to their sister hotel, The Griya, where they have more facilities with a more modern vibe. They also organized a very friendly driver to pick us up from the airport and then also for a full day tour of some great Bali sights, even dropping us off at a different hotel for no extra charge. Can't say enough good things about Santai - if you're considering staying here, DEFINITELY DO IT!

This is a lovely place to stay in Amed. Our bungalow, steps from the beach was very reasonably priced. The breakfast that was included every morning was excellent with fresh ripe fruit to start off the meal. My husband had the Lumberjack which included an egg omelet, sausage, tomato, potato and toast. I had the avocado toast with a poached egg on top. We also had dinner here twice and the food is very good. We snorkeled on the beach in front of our bungalow and even though the water wasn't real clear, due to 2 foot swells and recent rain, we were happy to see live healthy coral and colorful fish. We did not see any trash on the beach or in the water. There is a night club down the road which gets pretty loud at night, but I believe the music stops by 10:00 pm and I also believe they only have the live music two nights a week. We were there one night when they were playing and we just put in ear plugs. Overall, a great place to stay in Amed.

My husband and I spent 6 days at Santai in February. We flew from the US so needless to say it was a long way including the 3-hour commute from the Denpasar airport to the hotel. But it was all well worth it: as soon as we had arrived we were greeted with a refreshing juice, a very smooth check-in process, friendly staff and beautiful and abundant nature around us. Our bungalow was one at the end of the garden, very tranquil (with the exception of the bar across the street with loud music a couple of evenings a week) with a glimpse of the ocean from the patio. The bungalow itself was very clean, and we were happy that there was a canopy bed against the mosquitos. The really nice touch was the morning coffee and tea they delivered at 6am on the patio where we could enjoy the sunrise and changing colors of the nature, sky and sea. Just mesmerizing. As most reviewers have said, the food was delicious and excellent, and the staff was accommodating and flexible when you would eat. Basically you could eat at any time you'd like. One word of advice: the beach is partly rocky, partly sandy. We were glad we had water shoes with us, makes swimming a lot easier. Close to the nearby black buoy the visibility is good to see nice fish and coral. All in all, Santai is an excellent choice for a peaceful place for getting away from it all.....

We spent 2 nights at Santai Hotel in Amed - a stop off on our way to the Gili Islands from Ubud.
Santai was a refreshing change from the maddening crowds of Ubud - it was peaceful and beautiful. There are views of the volcano on Lombok and on Bali. Just stunning.
The rooms are super traditional with a nice outdoor bathroom. Tea and coffee is served on your balcony every morning. The pool is clean and warm with the beach on the doorstep. The restaurant served absolutely amazing food, drinks and cocktails and the staff were lovely. We had breakfast, lunch and dinners there.
We hired snorkelling hear from a hotel 5 mins down the beach. The snorkelling on the beach is crazily good! The sea was super warm - and there’s lots of good coral and fish.
My husband has a massage on the day bed overlooking the ocean.
Wished we had stayed much longer than 2 nights. Could easily have made it 2 weeks!

The beautiful small hotel is located directly by the sea with private access to the black beach of Amed. The suites are furnished in Balinese style and have their own terrace where you can sit in the evening and listen to the sound of the sea.
The staff are very friendly and courteous and are happy to help quickly with any questions.
Breakfast is served in the open-plan restaurant, which also offers a view of the sea.

The hotel is located south of Amed, accessible by taxi or scooter.
You can walk to Jemeluk which is a protected bay suitable for snorkeling.
The setting is very very nice if you are close to the sea. The cabins are made in a traditional style, which immediately transports you, however the sound insulation is average. Small downside for the swimming pool which is cloudy. The staff is very nice,
The beach is beautiful and sparsely built around but not very suitable for snorkeling.
No breakfast buffet, the restaurant serves well-made meals.
Be careful if you ask the hotel about going on a snorkeling trip with the fishermen, who commission the owners, they will tell you that no more than 2 people per boat are required. This is false, refuse, plenty of fishermen offer their services you will not have difficulty finding.
Furthermore, for catering there is little decent offer within walking distance of the hotel (be careful at night without public lighting). Go opposite Warung Long Hapyness or further away at Galanga, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic relaxing spot . On the beach . The staff is very nice . Only 6 or 7 bungalows so it feels exclusive. I had a beach front bungalow, patio looking at the ocean. Every morning complimentary coffee tea is put on your patio table . The breakfast are full ( fruit salad , lumber jack ( eggs spinach sausage ham ) can last all day and very good . The bungalow are spacious with a sweet outdoor bathroom shower . Mezzanine with a second bed . Such a wonderful place . Village dogs and roosters can be very noisy but the sound of the waves takes over .

Warmly welcome by Mr. Karim and his teams. This lotel is so pretty from the entrance. That small tosca entrance door is so lovely, than you welcome by huge blooming pink Bougenvilles around the pool. And there is another tosca door leading to the beach.
We stayed 3nights at villa #1 which has the best view. We were 2 adult and 2 kids under 12. The villa #1 has 1 king size bed and at the duplex there are twin bed. So we sleeps comfortably. The outdoor bathroom is also pretty and clean.
This beachfront villa is really recommended when you stay in Amed. Breakfast was good. Santai means relax which we did.
This hotel has car park, Indomaret (minimart), laundry nearby.

We stayed at Santai for 5 days, such a beautiful setting g and a lovely hotel.
The staff are wonderful, the setting is stunning and so relaxing.
Breakfast is great and coffee to your deck in the morning is a lovely touch.
It’s a decent walk into town, but there are a few restaurants in close walking distance and they can organise a taxi for you at reception. A great place to stay for a few days diving and some relaxing

Dear Louise,
Santai Hotel is located in Bunutan, about 800m after Sunset Point which overlooks the Jemeluk Bay. Our Coconut Restaurant serves an array of Eastern and Western food, and you can also reach several restaurants in walking distance. Warung Titi Sedana is a classic. The other best restaurants around would be Galanga (10min walking) and Bali Sweet (a little warung that serves very good goof in front of Galanga) and The Grill (15min walking) but The Grill offers free pick-up as does The Griya. Gusto is also well known but too far for walking. I hope this helps ...
We recently went up there and it took around 3 hours. Roads are good but traffic can be heavy. Its a nice drive. I have a friend up there called ketut that can drive you around and maybe even pick you up from the airport. His facebook page is WhatTo DoIn Amed Bali
