The resort is recently closed due to a major overhaul. All the old buildings have been replaced by well designed holiday homes, nicely set around the elegant and tranquil garden. Under the traditional sagopalmtree roof (atap) the new homes offer a split-level layout, with a very spacious bathroom on the ground floor and even an open air natural shower secluded...

The restaurant was terrible. Very slow service. It took around an hour half to get our food and they were out of a lot of things. Not too many options close by, so be prepared to go out and get food. As for the taste, I didn't really think it was worth the wait. The room itself was okay. They...

The hotel is set in lovely gardens, with a river running through it. The gardens are def more well kept than the rooms. The rooms themselves were nice but in def need of a lick of paint! The bed was really nice and cosy and the TV in the room had a movie channel - which we def needed during...

The place is adequate...for the price. (We aren't sure what that price was, because we were there for a conference where the price was negotiated.) The oceanside breakfast room and pool are pleasant, as is the dining patio near the meeting room. Conference breakfasts were standardized and not very well done; the Indonesian style lunches on the patio were much...

This must have been a fabulous place - fifty years ago! It has all the right features - beachfront location, glittering pool, gardenside rooms with patios ... And yet ... it is really really run down. Although the pool is clean, we saw rats running around it and the resturant. The place is very empty. The concrete stairs run to...

This hotel is quiet and inexpensive. The food is good, and the pool is great. The flowers are very nice. It is a very nice place to sit and unwind.

The hotel has potential, but the owner has to invest in the Hotel. And it is clear that he doesn't do that. The state of the Hotel was terrible. The Rooms, especially the badroom was dirty. The Garden was really not looking after and the pool was broken at several points. We went to another hotel the first day we...

We've stayed here for just an hour. The cottages were bad. Not renovated and smells like a dead body lieing there. Spiders in the badrooms. Bad experience. Photo's on the website are fake.

Baguala Bay Resort is a very nice hotel away from the city, but do remind that you can only pay cash here and that the ATM in the nearby village doesn't work so you have to get enough money at Ambon city! Pool is very nice, but it's a shame that non-guests are also allowed to swim here and there...
