My friend and I stayed two nights on the beautiful and peaceful island of Chennamkary! Maria and Philipp were wonderful hosts as well as Maria's mom who is such a talented chef!! We loved the very interesting evening walk with Thomas and the cooking class. We stayed in the grandmother's house in a very nice, impeccable room with our own...

My partner and I stayed here for three nights in January 2017, and had the most magical time. We stayed with Maria and Phillip's family who were some of the kindest people one could hope to meet, and they really made us feel at home. The food (made by the grandmother, Anna) was divine. A cocophony of flavours and spices...

A truly enjoyable homestay. we were there just before Christmas & were able to see how the community prepares for Xmas with carols etc. The morning walk is a must- a real eye-opener to backwaters life. Staff were brilliant.

I stayed here with a friend in November 2016 for 3 nights. The homestay was fairly quiet at this time and this meant that we got a room with an en-suite, despite having booked a room with shared bathroom facilities which was an immediate bonus. There's always lots of people coming and going as some guided tour groups stop here...

We loved our stay at Green Palm homes! Our room was very basic but the other rooms with AC were very nice. The food was amazing and we really enjoyed our experience on the island as opposed to staying on a houseboat. We did the morning and evening walks, went cannoing and even took a cooking class. I would actually...

We loved staying here. We arrived by travelling on a small boat. A very warm welcome by Maria offering us a cup of tea/coffee. It was peaceful, the food was good and plentiful. We enjoyed meeting other travellers and sharing stories. We would certainly stay here again.

Unfortunately only stayed one night - I would have liked to stay longer. Clean, charming, quiet, and relaxing. The food was amazing, but then to get the good stuff only homemade will do. Perfect paradise.

We stayed here 3 nights and thoroughly recommend it. Lovely surroundings in a private garden right by the river. The rooms were comfortable and the food excellent. The family all went out of their way to ensure we had a great and really interesting time.We went on two guided walks, learning so much about the local area, its people, history,...

We were very happy to have stayed at this place. The family was very welcoming. Thomas gave us so much great information about local culture, religion, walks, environment, etc.. The food was the most delicious we had in Kerala and typical Keralan style. It's very quiet and calm there. We found the price a little steep but we heard cheaper...

We spent two nights staying with Maria and her family. Everything about our stay was perfect. The location is absolutely stunning and provides a great base for discovering the backwaters. We went on an evening village tour, borrowed the canoes, and also went on a motor boat ride. All of these were great experiences. For us a real highlight was...
