This is a lovely old building with huge rooms and wonderful features. We have stayed in simpler and more ornate surroundings in India but in our experience Cherukara's nest is the best value hotel we have stayed in so far. Tony is very helpful, though he is a busy man, and always had time to help us with any questions... More

We arrived after a day of traveling at Cherakura Nest because we made a reservation. Fortunately something had gone wrong and there was no room available. I write fortunately because the place is not nice, the garden is really not maintained. Forget about what the lonely planet write! Have they even been there? Ofcourse I can say nothing about the... I'm being generous and giving it a 3 not a 2 as it probably wasn't poor by Indian standards. We decided to stay here as it was championed in the latest edition of the Lonely Planet, but I just can't see why! Yes the locks on the door are rather nice, and I quite enjoyed the swing in the garden... More

It was great to spend one night at Cherukara Nest. We had a wonderful room and owner Mr. Tony John was very welcoming. After a great freshly made breakfast in the garden we walked to the busstation (5 minutes) and continued our trip to Cochin.

We stayed here in November 2013 and had the more expensive room (1.500 rupees, breakfast was included) which was great. It was really cheap, too, compared to other places we stayed at during you stay in India. The owner even has a boat to offer which we rented for a day and that was one of our best experiences in... Firstly, the place. It's nice enough but there's a very indifferent air about it. There's never anyone around if you need anything or just have a question. The front verandah was full of fire ants and other bugs which kept getting into our room (the front room). Breakfast is a very tedious affair since Tony is not around and the... More

Great hotel! The rooms were big, and clean! The bathroom had a big shower in! There were fresh towels and soap to use! The rooms were decorated with dark wooden furniture, which added to the charm of the hotel! The garden at the back of hotel was very beautiful, a pigeon coup and a swing hanging from a big tree!... Situated right next to the bus station, the Cherukara Nest is easy to get to, has a lovely little back garden and spacious simple rooms. Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable but bring enough insect repellent - mosquitoes love the Nest as well! For a canoeing trip we just asked the owner the evening before and he arrange it... We stayed in a lovely, spacious, clean and cool room in Cherukara Nest. We even had a dressing room between our bedroom and our bathroom, and each room was well decorated. The whole guest house was very clean. Breakfast was a simple omelette and toast, but tasty and a good quantity. Tony the owner was very friendly and helpful, and... More
