We stayed here twice at the beginning and end of our Keralan backwater adventure. This is a lovely homestay, clean and well equipped room, good value for money, and Tony was very helpful and friendly. It is in a convenient location very close to the bus terminal, ferry terminal and central bazaar but on a quieter backstreet. We highly recommend... More

WE stayed in Cherukara Nest for one day in November 2015. The room rent was Rs 1000. I found that the room was good value for money as it was spacious with traditional touch and clean. The owner was helpful and he also arranged shikara ride for us. Only drawback was that the bedding was made of foam which was... More

We'd booked a night in the house, a night on the houseboat, and another night in the house. But that all changed when we got on the boat. The house was charming. We took the cool dark aircon room on the rear courtyard. I asked about the bigger, brighter rooms at the front when I arrived but they were reserved.... More

Overall ok: basic accommodation and pleasant courtyard. We hired the owner's (Tony) houseboat for 2 days and paid upfront for the trip. Unfortunately the engine broke half way through day one and we were surprised by Tony's lack of concern that our two day trip was blighted. In the end we stayed at the Homestay another night and had just... More

We spent a very romantic over night on one of the smaller house boats organized by the Cherukara Nest. The crew, chief, and captain were excellent and the trip through the backwaters of Alleppey was memorable. Highly recommend this to anyone traveling through Kerala.

We stayed here the night before taking Tony's houseboat for a couple days on a wonderful backwater cruise. The house is nice and the rooms are clean. The houseboat was really great! It's smaller and quieter than the diesel powered barges that dominate the backwaters, so you get a relaxed and peaceful trip. We took a two-day trip that included... More

Fabulous stay on the cherukara own houseboat. It is a small very charming houseboat. Staff Roben and Apou are kind hosts , cook and navigator . The guest rooms are superb too. Food is delicious too, prawns from the river, veggie , rice , chapathi etc...

This colonial house is a lovely peaceful hotel with rooms set around a relaxing garden. Our room was spacious, clean and had really high ceilings. I think this homestay is great in terms of value for money, the rooms are cheap and you get breakfast included in the price. The owner was very helpful and arranged a houseboat trip for... More

We originally stayed in another guesthouse in Alleppey which was dirty and noisy so came here and found it wonderful. It's comfortable, clean, our room was huge with A/C and the staff are friendly. Decent wifi too and well located near the bus station. Don't expect a hot shower though but that's not unusual round here.

This was a real little gem! Set in a colonial house with large clean bedrooms with beautiful furniture. The host Tony was very helpful. The complimentary breakfast was a delight too. We would highly recommend Cherukata Nest as a relaxing and peaceful place to stay.
