Very laid back atmosphere. The cabins are clean and have a nice large terrace with a sea view westward, so the sunsets are really good. Helpful pleasant staff. Le Patron is very interesting to chat with. Did not follow the custom to take off shoes as there are a lot of exposed nail heads on the planking floors making them dangerous. Quite a lot of maintenance tasks to me done. Had one excellent lunch but our last night's evening meal was a disaster. The beef meat was as hard and tough as I have ever had.

Thank you for visiting us and for your contribution. However, we saw each other before you left and you did not tell me about these 2 points. Our Khmer houses are made with noble wood for thermal comfort and in accordance with the architectural style. As you know, wood works and a nail may occasionally protrude despite our vigilance. We do not require you to take your shoes off on the parquet (Asian tradition), and that is why you have "flip-flops" in the bungalow. When I spoke about your "disaster" at your last dinner with the cook, she was extremely surprised because it was the first and only remark of this type that we had. We only buy beef fillets. We will talk to our supplier and change it if the case is repeated.

for me, the bout de monde is perfect, created by an artist and a man with 3 royal enfields, it has lovely raised traditional wooden accommodation, very clean. lovely gardens with pool, great location, great views, very peaceful & relaxing. Jean luc and staff are lovely people. food is excellent. direct access to national park with excellent walking paths, 10mins walk to crab market (please be aware that the crabs are being fished to extinction), 15 mins walk to beach & town. good base for salt fields, pepper farms and islands. cannot wait to return, would very highly recommend.

There is so much to love about LBdM - the traditional Khmer accommodations, the view from your verandah, the proximity to Kep National Park, the incredible breakfast, the lovely pool, the attentive staff... Of course there's some adjustment to your expectations if you're expecting a regular hotel experience. But this place is the extraordinary brainchild of Jean-Luc and his late wife, and it deserves accolades. I can't wait to return!

This is probably my 5th time at Le Bout du Monde in the last 5 years. Jean-Luc and Sombath are such wonderful hosts. I love the treetop houses with balconies in the trees. They are rustic and charming. The food is incredible. Home made treats for both breakfast and lunch/dinner. It is a quiet retreat at the end of the national Park road, and you can simply walk out the back gate and straight into the national park track. A wonderfully refreshing escape from the city.
