This was a very nice place to be with the restaurant and common area overlooking the river. Walking from the restaurant to the road was interesting and the whole lot was creatively build and planned. But! Our bungalow was very dirty! Old dried spiderweb was hanging from the roof and also from the fan, the mosquito net had holes in...

Pros: 5 star food (like really their chef is amazing) 5 star service, fast and helpful unlike most other places. Amazing balcony overlooking the river. It's clean and can swim or kayak. Cons: Rooms are basic and no hot water Loud dog fights around 3-4am for half an hour most nights Conclusion: this is a must stay place if you...

Stayed at Samon's village last year and it has remained our favourite place in all South East Asia. Loved the coconut shower and lounging in our hammock, and the eating area by the river is beautiful. Will definitely be back someday!!

We stayed here as a group of 12, ages ranging from 10 to 70+. On paper it's an amazing idea but actually staying here is a different story. We arrived in darkness and had 5 lodges across our group. If basic is what you are after then this is the place for you, we were fortunate not to have "visitors"...

My party of 12 arrived here in the dark, up staircases to the fabulous bamboo and coconut leaf lodges with ensuite rooms. The next morning we woke to the amazing views of the river and mountains, after a wander to the bar we discovered they serve amazing breakfast and delicious iced coffee. Hammocks to chill out on or beds to...

We were extremely pleasantly surprised by this place. Situated right on the river front with a really nice bar featuring mushroom chairs and hammocks. The whole vibe was very peaceful and thankfully the music selection was good and not too in your face. I'd also highly recommend renting some mopeds and going to Kep for the day (around an hour...

Samon Village greatly surpassed my expectations! Our first time staying in hut-like accommodations, we expected insect infestations, floods, plagues, etc, but staying in an elevated room was perfect. There were fewer pesky critters than in our apartment in Ho Chi Minh! We opted for a room with running water (unheated) which was completely comfortable (it stays at a refreshing room...

The place is nice, a bit away from the city centre. 30 mn walking/5 in tuk-tuk. As you can see on the pictures, the room are really, simple, with just the minimum you need, and are very "opened". Perfect if you look for something genuine. Not the good place if you don't like noise, insects and day light. The restaurant...

Lovely little 'village' setting by the river. I found it a little too easy to just settle in to a hammock with a drink but you can get out and hire bikes or good quality scooters too. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very few mosquito issues, probably due to the work staff put in to lighting braziers in the common...
