This is the most charming and well located Hotel The attention to detail and service is outstanding. Thauy and Khomeini were wonderful hosts that could not do enough for you and all their staff were great. Would definitely recommend any stay in Kampot should be at The Columns.
We were a family of five (two adults and three children aged four to ten) who had a great stay at the Columns Hotel. The staff is VERY friendly and you immediately feel at home in this charming hotel.
Great place to stay in Kampot - central location, clean and well equipped rooms, nice breakfast options… but most importantly - extremely kind and accommodating staff who ensure that your stay is hassle free. Well recommended - have a nice stay
The Columns is a lovely boutique hotel, set in a charming and beautifully decorated colonial-style house, with blue painted shutters and tiled floor. You are just one block away from the riverside, so within easy reach of restaurants and sights, but without the hustle-bustle. This was a return visit for us and The Columns remains its usual delightful oasis of calm. Our room was cool (aircon and ceiling fan, as well as the aforementioned shutters), with a very comfortable bed and well-appointed bathroom. Excellent breakfast choices, with delicious healthy options (many of them home-made by the owner), as well as more substantial choices. Free WiFi is fast and reliable. We were well looked after by the whole team throughout our seven day stay - everything from regular refreshing lime sodas, to help with onward travel arrangements, nothing was ever too much trouble for them. They also seem to have personal knowledge of most of the many restaurants in town. To book, just contact them direct, they respond promptly and are helpful, courteous, and possess excellent English.…
I stayed for three nights in a Queen Deluxe on the first floor. I was on my own and a little unwell on two of of those days. I had the most fantastic support and service from Thavy, the manageress and her team. In addition Thavy recommended what dishes to choose for dinner at a nearby restaurant and I had an excellent meal. She recommended a day trip to La Plantation which was perfect. These are the things I loved about this hotel: 1. The street outside is quiet 2. The bed and cushions are very comfortable and the cleaning is unobtrusive. 3. The room and the communal areas give a restful atmosphere. 4. The air conditioning system is not noisy. 5. The breakfast is gorgeous - I had crepes one day and cereal two days. I drank cold coffee with condensed milk so cannot comment on the coffee generally. 6. The location is excellent, so easy to walk to numerous places to eat and explore. 7. Being met outside the door on returning to the hotel at night and Thavy waving farewell as guests left…
The finest little hotel, perfect located close to the river and to all the restaurants but still in a silent street. Clean rooms with all you need, The sweetest staff, and breakfast with freshly brewed coffee, and homemade mini bagels and banana cakes. (See pictures). One of our 3 days we had really good vegetarian sandwiches for lunch as well. We recommend warmly.
I stayed here for several days over the new year. The staff/owners (wasn't sure!) could not have been kinder of more accommodating. This stay was towards the end of a longish trip to Vietnam and Cambodia and the relaxed and calm surroundings of The Columns were welcome. It was spotlessly clean, served delicious breakfasts and, most importantly, a really happy place to come back to each day. They deserve all their plaudits.
We got here for New Year’s and it was one of the last places we could get into. We paid US$75, which is far more than you would pay outside high season. Hence, I cannot comment on the prices. The hotel does not have an elevator, but that’s not uncommon with local places. The breakfast is very good, rooms are clean, no problem with the showers at all.
So far the best hotel in Cambodia !!! The trip to Bankoor Mountain booked in the hotel was carried out confidently by the recommended tour operator. No wish remains unfulfilled here and even with the restaurant in the neighborhood and the Laundryservice two streets away, the management helped with the communication. The hotel is about 3 minutes from the river bank. Great go on !!!!!!!!!
It's different, and so much better, than the many small hotels of Kampot; it is just a step from the Riverside, an importtant step because it is quiet, and it is yet so close to the many bars and restaurants of Kampot. The rooms are large, clean and well serviced by a host of willing staff; the breakfast area is light and airy. Management is always ready to help and advise. Excellent is a much over-used word but it is fully deserved for The Columns
