A great place to stay to explore Kampot. Ben the owner is fantastic. Promptly answered my emails before our trip and gave honest an opinion and advice on what to see and do. He organised our Tuk-Tuk tour guide for the day who was a great guy called Ali. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. There is complimentary tea and coffee all day long should you wish in the common area. Mea Culpa is only a 5-10 minute walk to the centre where all the shops and restaurants are and a 2 minute walk to the riverfront. We took the bicycles on Sunday morning and explored the town and over the bridge to fish island. All flat and easy cycling and not much traffic on a Sunday. Ben also gave us late check out on Sunday so we could shower after our cycling before getting the train home. Would recommend Mea Culpa every time. Great accommodation and awesome staff.…
The hotel is perfectly located a bit off the main streets so its quiet but still within walking distance to the centre. The people working there are incredibly nice and helpful. Had some really great chats with Ben who is very knowledgeable about Kampot. The building and interior is very well maintained, interior very nicely decorated with some tasteful touches. The pizza is great, baked with stone oven. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.
My husband, son & I stayed at the end of December 2019. We are from Melbourne, Australia. When we arrived with our suitcases (which was a bit late), Ben greeted us in the lovely garden. He then showed us to our rooms upstairs, gave general information & informed us as to what tours could be taken while in Kampot. We ate in his restaurant (the pizza was great) which was so convenient & the staff here are very friendly. Ben was happy to chit chat & answer any questions we may have had. Sitting in his garden under the mango trees sipping tea was so peaceful. Thanks very much Ben, Ben's wife & Mea Culpa family. We will definitely be back one day!
Owners are very kind and helpful. Without their helps, my Kampot trip might not be excited much. They are always smiling and welcome to answer many of my questions and always willing to help what I asked. I took Giant Ibis Express from Phnon Penh to Kampot and the express bus station is near to Mea Culpa Kampot. We took tuk tuk from bus terminal to hotel. The room is big and super clean. Their Freshly Baked Pizza is must try one when you are in Kampot. Very delicious and reasonable price. It is walkable distance to river and the sunset view for river is very beautiful. Thanks you so much Ben and Mea Culpa family, we will definately stay again at your place when we have the chance to go Kampot.
I can only echo all the previous positive comments. This place is spotlessly clean and provides all basic comforts at an excellent price. Peaceful location, but easy walk into town centre. Owners are very helpful in arranging tours & transport at a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to recommend.
