The diversity of wildlife here was fantastic. Elephants right outside our tent! I could not get over the food here - it was seriously gourmet/foodie kind of fare! We could hear elephants right outside our tent. Charles, the manager there, is so helpful and nice. It's a really peaceful and perfect place to stay. NOTE: it recently changed to Nyikani.
We had a wonderful two night stay while in Tarangire Park for our honeymoon. During our stay, there was only one other group, so we received a lot of attention from Charles and the rest of team. The food was excellent during our entire stay and the tents themselves are well set-up with very large bathrooms. The highlight of our entire trip was seeing an elephant one night outside of our room, less than 10 feet away. Charles had prepared us for this possibly happening, but it was quite a treat to actually experience it. My only comment for an area of improvement
We stayed two nights in Kichuguu Camp and really enjoyed our stay. The tents are spacious, very clean and comfortable. The team really cared about us. The food was delicious including fresh local fruits, pancakes, egg and everything we needed for brakfast. We could see elephants during breakfast. Lunch for Safari and Dinner included a lot of freshly cooked vegetables. We totally enjoyed our stay and the beautiful view over Tarangire. The diversity of wild life is unbelivable and we have not seen so many animals in any other Park we have been to in Africa.
The manager, Charles, and his team excel at customer service. The tent was wonderful, the food was amazing, and we felt safe and right at home. Superb location. Somehow, they had excellent WiFi in the middle of the park. Highly recommend you stay here!
This was our first camp experience during our safari and it exceeded our expectations. The tent was tastefully decorated and had everything you could need, including a hot shower, which is very appreciated. The bed was super comfortable and the views from the tent amazing. The food was really good, we very much enjoyed both our dinner and the packed lunched they prepared for us. All the team was very welcoming and accommodating and the place is really charming. It totally worths a visit.
This was the first camp we stayed at on our safari. It has a beautiful setting, located in the far south of Tarangire Park. That means there are few other camps around and that you effectively have game drives on the way to and from the Camp. In fact the best elephant sitings of our entire safari occurred on the drive to the Camp from the Park entrance. The Camp has 10 tents for guests along with a large dining tent and lounge tent. The food was excellent and far more than we could eat at any meal. You will not go hungry here. A particular standout was our tent attendant Junior, who made us a welcome gift for our arrival. He brought the buckets of hot water for our showers and generally took care of whatever we needed at Camp. Our 6 am coffee and tea “wake-up” was always on time. Our laundry was washed, dried and returned to us the same day, and our tent was always clean and ready for us when we returned from a game drive or dinner. Junior could’t do enough for us, and his cheerfulness was a bright spot when we returned to Camp. The Camp is fairly close to the Tarangire River and a large lake, both of which provided great areas for viewing wildlife. We drove by what must have been a head of 10,000 buffalo and saw 7 baby giraffes (about 2-3 weeks old) with 9 females in the road near our camp. Another day we stopped the truck and were literally surrounded by more than 200+ baboons. The Park has many beautiful, large baobab trees which were a real treat for us as we had never seen them before. Tarangire is not as well known as many of the other parks, but I would not have missed it has beautiful trees and foliage with rolling hills and is quite beautiful, along with having many elephants and other wildlife. And Kichuguu is located is the best place in the Park, near an airstrip, but otherwise isolated and peaceful.…
Kichuguu was the first camp we stayed in our safari journey. We spent 2 nights there and loved every single second of it! We had the most beautiful sunrise views from our tent, which was very comfortable (with electricity, hot bucket showers, running water in the sinks, and a real flushing toilet). The food was also very good and the portions very large (my favorite were the soups! Especially the cream of corn). The staff were all very friendly and they all spoke English well. They went above and beyond to meet all of our needs. Tarangire park is absolutely beautiful, and Kichuguu camp is a must!
Fantastic camp with very comfortable tents. We had the most amazing sunrise in the middle of the savannah from our bed!! The staff is very professional, kind and helpful! Also very good food We highly recommend!!
Amazing camp in the middle of wilderness! Staff is very friendly and gives you special attention! I would highly recommend! Tent are very high well equipped. Many thx ! (Special mention to Camp Manager, Charles!) Alice & Hadelin
We loved our stay at Kichuguu camp! The tents and the main areas are just beautiful and quite comfortable. The staff was amazing, not only were they attentive and accommodating but they went above and beyond by pointing out tracks left by animal visitors during the night and teaching us about their behavior. They served native Tanzanian dishes which we loved and the portions were huge! Overall, this was my favorite park, camp, and cuisine. Highly recommend it!!
