Opened in 2017, Kichuguu Camp is the third property in the Chaka Camps collection. Kichuguu, located inside Tarangire National Park, offers guests an African flare, combining gourmet Swahili cuisine with Tanzanian service and style! Kichuguu Camp is perfectly situated in a quiet woodland between the Tarangire River basin and Silale Swamp, making for easy access to excellent game viewing during your stay. Kichuguu ('termite mound' in English) Camp is a thematic representation of the termite mounds that dot the Tarangire landscape. The hidden details and patterns of the intricate mounds appear in the decor and furnishings throughout the camp. Spires are represented in our bedside lamps. Organic materials and shapes are used in our artwork and overhead lighting, featuring the open chimneys and vent holes that termites build in their mounds for ventilation. The carved tunnels inside the mounds are replicated in our tables and lamps. Much like the termite uses its surrounding environ

We stayed at Kichuguu Camp for a leisurely and relaxing three nights and were attentively looked after by the staff. Each day we would roam around Tarangire National Park and would come home to hot showers and a cup of tea enjoyed out in our private patio spot. Each night was something we looked forward to dinner as every day it was different. On one occasion when it was local speciality we enjoyed traditional dancing. On our last night I was gifted a cute little elephant that a member of staff had picked up from the market as he remembered that my favourite animal was the elephant! They also gave us a handmade figurine of the baobab tree crafted by the locals which takes pride of place in my shelf at home. So many wonderful memories here - full of joy for this place and the people. Thank you so much to the staff here at Kichuguu Camp, you made our honeymoon so magical!

This was our first overnight stop on a seven day safari. We stayed here after a day in the Tarangire national park seeing the wildlife. This turned out to be the only tented camp we stayed in on our safari, and it was definitely a cool experience. The tent was very substantial, basically a full hotel room inside. The room had electricity and cold water plumbing for a sink and toilet. Hot water was provided by the camp staff for our showers. Dinner and breakfast were included with our stay, and both were tasty. Purified drinking water was provided in the room and included with dinner, other drinks were available for extra charge. My wife is vegetarian and they had a comparable food option for her as the meat dish. Tip box was available for the staff.

We stayed at Kichuguu Camp after taking a safari through Tarangire NP. The staff was excellent and waiting for us as we pulled up to the camp. They took our bags and brought them to our tent. We got a tour of the facility and were given detailed instructions on how the camp works. The room was beautiful and very clean. We were woken up with tea and coffee at our tent and had warm showers available upon our request. The food was also excellent! Thank you so much to the staff here at Kichuguu Camp, you made our stay feel so special!

From the moment I stepped off the safari truck my every need was attended to. From a cold face washer and drink to a hot bucket shower and a full set of bar options. I went to sleep listening to the hyenas whooping and the roar of a lion. This place definitely has the wow factor and magical is the only way to describe the surroundings.
