I have been to Maramboi numerous times. It has never been so beautiful as the lake is now surrounding the lodge. We loved the dinner family style and breakfast had some great bites. The dining simply looks fantastic. Having a happy hour while witnessing one of the most beautiful sunsets ever made it even better. The kids simply love this place...and me too. There was so much wildlife and bird life around. The lodge is well prepared for prevention of COVID-19 and currently they have a great offer for citizens and residents!
This was my 3rd visit to Maramboi as usual did not disappoint. It was a good decision from the owner to open the lodge during this tough times and offer great deal. This visit felt more personalised as Mr Willy was there and he accommodate quite few exceptions special lunch etc. The pool side has been fully renovated and the weather was perfect to make use of the pool. Thank you
You want to set a huge highlight right at the beginning of your safari in Northern Tanzania? Then you have to come here! We are not going to give too many details as the element of (positive) surprise absolutely makes this place so special. The tented lodge has one of the most lovely managers we have met. Her name is Tamia and she treats the lodge like her baby and spoils every guest! The huge tents with a cool bathroom give you a cozy and comfortable home during your stay here. In the mornings you can make yourself a coffee in the tented room and enjoy it on the private balcony with nice views. A nice feature we like here is that the drinks are included.
My daughter and I stayed here as a part of a safari in Tanzania in Oct 2019. Everything was fabulous once we arrived. Cold beverages were waiting for us (including Iced tea - what a wonderful surprise), we sat by the pool before dinner and looked at a beautiful sunset. We watched warthogs, giraffe and wildebeest come by. Dinner was wonderful and breakfast the next morning, outside as we watched zebras wander by, was exciting. Our room was spacious and extremely comfortable with plenty of room to sit inside on couches or outside on chairs. The stay - so incredibly attentive and welcoming and friendly. Would welcome another opportunity to stay at this property again!
Individual 'tents' well spaced out, so much so you need a security escort to and from you tent at night. Each tent is named after an animal, ours was 'nyani'. Our tent was nearly a kilometer from the main reception area so quite a hike if you are not fit. There are buggies and you can hitch a lift if you are so inclined. The bar and pool in an idyllic setting with spectacular sunset. The service in this area is fabulous. Everything is included in the price and it's hard to know where to start to explain just how fabulous this location is. It has quite a grand feel to it, yet relaxing at the same time. I think it is possibly wheelchair friendly. This was the only place we stayed on our two week safari that was not in a National Park. So morning and evening we drove to nearby Tarangire National Park to see an abundance of animals. The highlight was definitely the elephants. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay. The staff were so friendly, and a few were extra special. As of the last few years a percentage of profits from this Lodge go towards supporting the local environment and villagers which is a wonderful initiative.…
