We had only one evening to spend in Greensboro and found this delight by accident. We've stayed in one hotel in the city before and that was booked due to two college graduations. Our dear friend and interior designer was familiar with Double Oaks and booked a room for our one evening. I wish we would have had more time...

The ONLY place to stay in Greensboro if you are a discerning B&B afficionado in my mind. Beautiful home in an old and welcoming neighborhood, close to downtown, the greenway for biking and walking, and lots of walkable restaurants, breweries and the ballpark nearby. WONDERFUL ambience and delightful owners. Also a great venue for a party of any sort. The...

We had intended to leave for Maryland when while on our bike we ran across this beautiful bnb. We decided to go in to explore. After meeting the very personable owner and looking around we made the decision to extend our vacation a extra day just to have the experience of staying in this extraordinary bnb. We booked the suite...

This, quite possibly, is the best B and B I have ever stayed at. The host was warm, attentive and a fine chef that made you feel quite at home, but the star was the house. Built in 1906, the Harden Thomas house has been lovingly restored with just the necessary updating such as central HVAC. The rooms are large,...

James and his wife Amanda have, and continue the process of lovingly restoring this historic property, most of the remaining work focusing on the gardens and patios surrounding the house. James is a gregarious host, and talking to him, one gains some insight as to the why and how of this labor of love. He is deeply committed both to...

My wife and I spent one night at the Double Oaks while driving thru North Carolina as part of our 35th wedding anniversary trip. We enjoyed our one night stay and went away wishing our plans allowed us to stay longer. I don't know if we'll ever be in these parts again, but if so I will definitely go out...

My daughter and I spent the night in the H.T. Martin room recently. We chose Double Oaks due to its proximity to UNCG. We were greeted outside by Amanda. She was so friendly and welcoming. I felt like I was meeting an old friend. James came in shortly after and showed us around the kitchen and gave us homemade cookies....

The inn itself is beautiful, charming, and you can't beat the location. James and Amanda do everything to make their guests feel at home by providing all the little details that let you know they care. We truly enjoyed our stay...oh, and did we mentions how comfortable the beds were?

I stayed here for two nights and would have loved to stay longer. Every nook and cranny was beautiful. James has lovingly brought this gorgeous home to life. My room was comfortable, quiet, and very special. The breakfasts were delicious. Be sure to try to lemon ricotta pancakes. Heavenly. James also has wine and beer on tap for guests- that...
