The Grandover Resort & Spa, a Wyndham Grand Hotel, is commended for its attentive service, although occasional lapses in promptness have been noted. The resort's amenities, including the spa, pools, and game room, are popular among guests, with live music adding to the lively atmosphere, though some suggest enhancements in spa capacity and pool warmth. While opinions on value vary, with some questioning the cost-benefit, the rooms earn praise for their spaciousness and cleanliness. The hotel's overall cleanliness and festive ambiance, complete with holiday decor, make for a pleasant stay.

We got married at Grandover on July 1, 2023. After having tried to plan a wedding at a South Carolina venue and a resort in Puerto Rico, we settled on Grandover after meeting with Rebekah and touring the facility. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Our families and friends golf and we wanted a facility where everyone could sleep, golf, and attend the wedding without having to worry about drinking and driving or finding shuttle services. We looked all over the southeast and couldn't find such a facility until we settled on Grandover. We had 106 guests and 36 golfers on Saturday morning. Our group was so impressed by Grandover. They all commented on how accommodating the staff was, how delicious the food was, and how beautiful the entire venue was - the lawn we were married on, the golf course itself, the pool, the décor, the rooms, etc. We wanted to keep our budget in check and ended up paying the national average for a wedding with everything included (like photographer and DJ, which Grandover don't provide). With that price tag, Grandover handles most everything. They set up the venue, they provide A/V for the ceremony, they provide the food, etc. It allows you to do much less work to plan your wedding. Rebekah is fantastic. I talked to a lot of venue managers before picking Grandover and none of them compared to Rebekah. She was always prompt with communication, so you never felt alone in the planning process. I sent a million emails with questions and never felt like a bother to her. On the day of the event, it stormed right at our ceremony time. Rebekah worked with me to delay the ceremony and had the staff dry off the chairs in a matter of minutes to get our guests outside for the ceremony. This is just one example of how she worked with us and made our experience perfect. The Pro Shop had carts ready to go with our players names on them and bags already loaded on the carts. It was top-knotch service. I could go on and on about how accommodating and wonderful the Grandover was for our wedding. If you're hesitating to book your wedding here, don't. At least go take a visit to Grandover and stay a night. Eat the food at the restaurants and it'll give you an idea of how great the food and service will be at your wedding.

The resort is beautiful and the rooms spacious, well equipped and with Chrome cast HDTVs, allowing me via my iPad to stream 100s of my own videos/subscriptions. HOWEVER, the re-named Finial restaurant is a letdown (and consistently so, 3 2-day visits, dinner x6 over the years). This time the first night, we started with Caesar salads - the lettuce was not green nor fresh; wife had duck and dumplings - duck was overdone medium+ and dumplings doughy and thick; I had lamb chops, also overcooked and tasteless (some of the poorest lamb meat I've ever had); second night, special potato soup was lukewarm with little flavor/seasoning - wife had shrimp and grits, the shrimp were OK but the worst grits she has ever had - in a brown gravy sauce with no 'corn taste' - she had one bite. I had Chilean sea bass which was average but had a fishy smell - the accompanying grit cake was dry and with little flavor. The desserts each night were poor to mediocre; a blueberry crisp that was old with no fruit flavor and a mocha creme brûlée that tasted like chocolate pudding from a box. We plan not to return to the resort because there are no other decent dinner options at the hotel nor nearby.

Our company hosted a Christmas Party at the Grandover this year. The entire hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Walking into the hotel, you immediately felt festive and the staff was very welcoming. They also had a gingerbread house competition going on and that just added to the festive feeling. The conference room where the event was held was perfect. They had a decorated Christmas tree in the room and festive decorations on each table. The food was delicious and the bartender handled our large group perfectly. It was also nice that after our company party ended, many of us went to the different bars onsite to continue hanging out. I loved that there were very different spaces to hang out. Most of us stayed the evening at the hotel and it just allowed everyone to just enjoy themselves and not worry about driving after the party. I would highly reccomend hosting an event at the Grandover. They really do an amazing job!

I am a local and I only went to stay as I was given gift cards for a “staycation”. I thought this would be a nice, little luxury getaway but this was the most disappointing room and experience.

I wasted over $300 in gift cards for a basic king room that is comparable to the Hampton Inn or another budget hotel. The room was small, the sheets and towels were incredibly cheap and starchy, and the bathroom shower had no door. The coffee maker was extremely dirty and cheap, as the fridge was the saddest, little old mini fridge that looks like it has been there since the 90s. The robes were tiny, cheap little things and were labeled as “plush” but were the texture and consistency of a thin ridged washcloth. The WiFi did not work, and I had to call the front desk for access using different code. I thought there would be a little elegance as I have stayed at the O’Henry and the Proximity and thought this may be comparable but it’s nowhere near it. I would tell locals to stay far away as this is not worth the cost for one single night. I have not tried the spa, but I would likely regift any future cards I receive for this place as this was truly a terrible experience.

Also, I am now out more than $400 until my hold is reversed as they placed the full hold on my credit card in addition to charging my gift cards, so that’s disappointing as well…not sure the point of the cards if they are going to go ahead and take the full amount as well.

I would stay far far away if you are local. Go enjoy something with actual luxury for the same cost as this was a complete waste.

My stay at the Grandover was beyond what I had expected. The service and hospitality of their staff is absolutely on par with the level of professionalism that one would expect at a resort of this caliber.

After one day of being on the resort grounds, many of the staff knew me by name and my preferences.
The resort is beautiful and amazingly well kept. There was not one day did I not see staff meticulously tending to the grounds, and the facilities on the property.

Although it is just the beginning of the golf season, and the majority of the course is still brown, the course is well groomed and playable.

One my first night, I went to the, "Cafe / Game Room" to enjoy the night and have dinner while watching the March Madness Games. Here there is billiards table, foosball table, shuffle board table, and several other games to enjoy the evening with friends. There is a wide selection of beers to select from, along with a good selection of spirits from the bar.

For dinner that night I was torn between the Shawarma plate and the NY strip Gyro. Ultimately I went with the Gyro and I was not disappointed. Great flavor, soft wrap, and plenty of steak in every bite. I was so impressed with the meal that the following night I went back to try the Shawarma Plate. This is where I am very impressed with the service. I had placed my order and sat at a table waiting for my dinner to be made. It had been a busy day and ordered my meal to go, so that I would enjoy dinner in my room. About 10 min goes by and a young staff member comes up to me and greets me, she says that she recalls that last night she had heard I had an allergy to shrimp (use to never have a problem with shellfish, but recently when I eat it, I break out in hives). I had asked to sub the shrimp for Chicken in the Shawarma and there must have been some confusion in the kitchen. The staff member was very apologetic and would get the corrected immediately. It is nice to see the staffs attention to details, especially to allergies and food restrictions to not only enhance the customers experience, but also to ensure their safety.

For lunch I went to the resorts restaurant, DiValleta. the view from the restaurant of the golf grounds is amazing the layout of the restaurant is elegant and spacious so that though there are other guests, your conversations with your party is not being heard by other guests and you are not hearing other peoples conversations. A great place for any meal.

My family and I recently stayed at this hotel and, overall, had a great experience. The hotel service was nearly perfect, and the amenities were excellent. However, I am giving a 4-star rating due to an issue with the food and beverage service at Cafe East.

On the day of our checkout, we decided to have breakfast at Cafe East before embarking on our 5-hour journey home. We arrived at the café and placed our order at 10:32 am. The menu screen displayed only breakfast items, and the kind cashier took our order.

A few moments later, the cashier apologized, explaining that the cook had denied our order and we would have to wait until 11:00 am to order lunch. I found this situation to be unprofessional and, most of all, inconsiderate. We were left without the breakfast we had anticipated, which was quite disappointing.

Despite this incident, the rest of the hotel service was impeccable. I hope this issue is addressed by management to ensure it doesn’t happen to other families who may want a decent meal before leaving the premises.

Thank you for considering my feedback.

My wife and I stayed at the Grandover Resort & Spa recently when we enjoyed a long weekend there to attend a special event. We could not have been more pleased with our entire stay! The location just outside of Greensboro was perfect, and the expanse of the property afforded us the ability to spread out and to never feel cramped or crowded. There's plenty of self-parking with easy access to the front entrance and the golf course area, and there's ample outdoor walking areas and exercise areas. There's also plenty of outdoor seating around the property when the weather's nice or at night by the fire pit. Our floor and our room was quiet, and the rooms were cleaned impeccably. We had a view of the parking lot, tennis courts, and the interstate, so in retrospect I would seek a room overlooking the golf course the next time. In any event, our room was great! The beds were beyond comfortable and made for great sleep. We were there during a college football Saturday and didn't miss a play of our alma mater's game on our room's large HD TV that had a wide variety of channels, including the Big 10 Network! We enjoyed each of the property's various restaurants, the cafe, and bars, where the food and beverage selections were diverse and plentiful. There were several large group events, including various receptions and dinners, and the food was excellent. It's not always easy to satisfy large groups with food quality, food preparation, or taste, but the resort's kitchen and banquet staff did not disappoint. We utilized the fitness center several times and got great workouts...it's roomy enough to spread out, yet it's also well-equipped. The special event weekend included several "live" shows out on the lawn by the preeminent band Big Head Todd & The Monsters. The intimate nighttime lawn setting at the resort for the first 2 shows was just perfect, and the Saturday night show at the Piedmont Hall in town was just a few minutes drive from the resort, and the energy was palpable. What really stood out, however, was the staff. Everyone from management to the housekeeping to the fitness center/pool and to the banquet staff was so friendly and accommodating, and they really made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our entire stay. We enthusiastically recommend the Grandover Resort & Spa!

The facility is excellent. Most of my staff interactions weee great. I rated it three stars because I thought two stars would be unfair. The room was great. The facility itself is gorgeous. All of the amenities are top notch. My problem is I chose this hotel because I was on a business trip. I went down after check in to see what time check out was and was told 11:00 but I could get a complimentary checkout of 12:00. I asked to please be given that. The staffer rather curtly said (eventually three straight times despite three different questions) “sir you will have to do that in the morning.” This made no sense to me but I said fine. We had a late night so my zooms and conference calls started immediately when I awakened. On my first break I, as instructed called for a late checkout. The front desk person, again curtly, asked for my room number, paused and then said no. “We only allow a certain number of those”. I explained how I was instructed. Again “sorry. That can not happen”. The last reason I was told is “we only accept those requests until 9:00 am”. I have travelled all over the country. I’ve never heard any of this ever. So I had to rush to put my things together and find a way to kill time in between meetings and I still don’t know why. I can not say I will never come back to the hotel but I can say I will not return if I have other realistic options. Not one word of that policy made sense to me and not one second of the curtness was earned or understandable.

I am so sorry that you were unable to get a late check out. I apologize for the lack of communicating the policy to you in a friendly, hospitable manner. Unfortunately, on certain days when we have heavy departures and arrivals, late check outs are difficult for us. We could have done a much better job providing you with an explanation. I have forwarded your comments to our Front Desk Managers for follow up and training opportunities. We do appreciate your business and do not take it for granted.

I was absolutely blown away by the Grandover. The rooms are nice enough but it is truly the staff that went above and beyond at every single turn. We were there for a wedding weekend and every request (from room location, to bringing up extra glassware, to even accommodating checkin/checkout requests) was not only met but done with a smile and in a timely fashion. Even the bellman went above and beyond! This level of service is truly what sets this hotel apart. Yes the Grandover is pricey but it is 110% worth it when the experience is so great. I have status with both Hilton and Marriott but I will definitely look to stay here whenever I’m in the area-it’s that good.

A couples weekend that was overall enjoyable, but not quite what we anticipated based on prior visits before and after COVID-19 by family/friends. My first visit, personally, and based on family prior visits I had high expectations concerning the resort. Our arrival for Saturday morning breakfast was after the buffet option time, understandable enough. Ordered from the very nice breakfast menu, but unfortunately they were out of a few breakfast items. The most noticeable was Bacon. To me that is a breakfast staple. With that said my breakfast was at no cost, an action that was initiated by the Grandover and not myself. That was a pleasant surprise!

The room was very nice and comfortable overall. My understanding is that a few weddings were hosted in the resort the afternoon/evening of our stay and that guests of those events were the cause of loud talking and singing in the halls of our 7th floor room on and off until 2 am. When brought to the attention of the Grandover team no apology nor reduction in room rate were provided. My expectation of this resorts response was greater than actually experienced. That was the most disappointing item during our stay.

Our final invoice, received a few days after our departure, included over $150 of bar charges that were not ours. Our only bar purchase was on a debit card. I was pleased that when contacted via telephone the charges were removed from my credit card.

Thank you very much for letting us know about your stay with us and im sorry it was not perfect. A crazy busy weekend and yes had several sports teams with us that allowed the kids to be in the hallways when they should not have been. Generally our security team do a great job keeping this from happening. In my 30 years with our Hotels, I don't think i remember running out of bacon, so very sorry. I will be asking some questions as to why. We are sincerely sorry we fell short in a few places but hope you know that it is not the norm, nor will it every be. Many thanks for your business.
