Hubby and I stayed here for two nights while we were doing Safari in Mikumi National Park. We were met on arrival by my new wonderful friend, Mery. Such a fabulous lady with the best smile ever! She welcomed us and brought us to our rented accommodation (No 5) which was charming, spotlessly clean and perfect for us. As we got settled in, Mery brought us THE best onion rings we have ever tasted! We were the only guests staying here for the couple of nights. Had a wonderful dinner with some wine and then the fire was lit in the fire pit for us to sit by (on both nights!) Is really doesn’t get better than this. We were genuinely sad to leave on the third day when we moved on to stay in grand 4 star hotels but we kept on talking and remembering our Angalia experience and our wonderful friend Mery. Some times you just need to be in a peaceful place with lovely people to make wonderful memories. Thankyou all for the special time at Angalia Tented Accommodation, we will remember it for ever xx Maria & Graham, Ireland …
Everything was perfect: personnel, food, location, tents... we loved every minute of our stay! The tents really blend in the environment and are beautifully decorated. Beds are super comfy and it is a great luxury to have a private bathroom with a hot water shower. Food is just amazing, with traditional Tanzanian recipes combined with more European dishes. The camp is really close to the entrance of Mikumi National Park and even the nearby road is an amazing opportunity to see wild animals. Our safari trip was organized by Angalia, and the guide they provided was really knowledgeable about animals, plants, and flowers. My 9 yo son loved it all. If you only have a few days in Tanzania, it is probably worth flying from Dar es Salaam. However, I would recommend the car; it is a long drive but it would allow you to see deep in the heart of Africa. Otherwise, you may miss things like Masai´s barbecues by the side of the road!…
The staff at Angelia are very friendly and the food is good compared to other camps. Nevertheless, I would not recommend you stay at any camp which is far from the gaming area. It is really not worth it since the best gaming activities are during the early morning or late evening
My mom and I spent two nights at Angalia Tented Camp highly recommend it! We received such a warm welcome from Ayoub and his team of staff. Our experience was super authentic and we were quite sad to leave actually. We visited Mikumi park and did a one day trekking at Udzungwa Waterfall which we recommend as well for the beautiful scenery and discovery. The tents at Angalia were spacious, clean and comfortable. We also loved the food and the service. Every evening they prepared a bonfire for us which was very nice too. Asanteni wote!!!!
A tranquil bush camp, close to Misumi National Park. Great home made food using local ingredients. The staff are very helpfull and friendly. After dinner you can sit around the bonfire and watch the stars overhead. Lovely cabins with comfortable beds and bathroom with hot and cold shower. You are really out in the bush here, what a place.
