I stayed at Papaya Lake Lodge earlier 2020. All I could say is Wow, this lodge is still on my mind like it's yesterday. You are welcomed by the gate security men who is really organized. The staff and the owner, is a story for another day coz they were beyond my Expectations. The food was on point. Thank you Papaya. See you soon when all this is gone.
We had a fantastic time at this very pretty and well decorated place. The hilltop pool is simply stunning and the service is top notch. The food is ambitious and mostly good, with some minor disappointments. It’s pretty pricy but worth the money.
Stayed there as a family with 2 kids. It was wonderful and relaxing. it was my birthday and what an awesome place to spend there. Got a wonderful massage and had a relaxing day at the pool. Kids loved wandering around. Went on some nearby hikes. Every morning we ordered a 6.30 coffee, then walked down the path to the water's edge. Saw and heard wonderful birdlife. Owls just waking...then looking out on the lake. Even with the noise of 10 year olds a backdrop, what a beautiful place! Absolutely recommend it. Service was excellent. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was excellent. Company also was excellent....:-)
Me and my husband enjoyed a lot our stay in Papaya Lake lodge. What a beautiful place with all those small touches in a design, service, food, approach and care about environment. The location is amazing , just in a middle of the 3 craters and has a view from the restaurant side on an ex crater which now a beautiful lake and from the pool side on another lake. All the rooms are facing the lake, surrounded by the jungles. The design and decoration are very cosy and welcome. Great terrace to have a drink, drink a book or just to relax. It is totally connected to the surroundings. If Indiana Jones would go to Uganda he would definitely stay at this lodge:-)) There is also a garden where they grow many herbs, vegetables and fruits and use what possible at the restaurant. We liked the food, we would say it was one of the best one we had from our whole African trip. The service is extraordinary. Do not expect a service of a luxury hotel or a three stars restaurant , but for the area, since all the people are from the local villages, hotel Manager did a great job, but also , what I find most important, the people, on the top of being good at their job they put their heart in everything they do, which makes it special. Thank you for your kindness and made us to feel at home.…
This is one of the best hotels around Kibale forest. It on the crater lake which sometimes hosts the Hippopotamus. They have fancy rooms very clean, however I have less time to test on their meals. The staffs are hospitable,
