Lots of hype about this place in reviews and the Bradt Guide but my experience didn’t live up to it. A somewhat shabby room, breakfast that was little more than croissants (they were good) with juice and instant coffee and toilets by the pool that were closed. On the upside the pool was very good and the location excellent close to restaurants and right on a clean section of beach. Nearby restaurants offered better value and the bar next door sold beer at less than half the price of the hotel. TV limited to four channels, none in English: not that this is a complaint. My general test of a hotel is would I return? Probably not, sadly.
Loved the place. Nice boutique hotel in process of being renovated. Rooms nice and clean with big beds. Pool is lovely and the beach is 10m away. The owner and her daughter made the trip so nice and a success. Attention to details was surpassing and simply the BEST FOOD. Heathy good wholesome food and desserts to die for. Highly recommended. Come and relax and enjoy your time here!
This is a relaxing spot on the beach in Grand Bassam (note that the google map location is a bit off - the hotel is directly on the beach, not across the street). The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is nicely designed, stylishly simple and modern with some African flair. The pool is lovely, and the beach is as clean as one can hope for in a village in this part of the world. The owner is very friendly, and generously sent a very kind bilingual staff member with me to assist with communication when I had a small medical emergency and needed to visit the medical clinic in town. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating, and arranged the installation of a mosquito net in our room after we saw a few mosquitoes the first night.
The hotel is right on the beach, but has a great pool, is located in an artsy town, but is itself an art gallery. The grounds are quaint and inviting and the rooms are cozy. Staying at the Koral Beach Hotel in Grand Bassam was the best decision I made on our trip to Côte d’Ivoire! The owners and staff are so friendly that not only did it make our trip, but we’ve made friends as well! Make sure you have dessert! Thank you KBH 🙏🏽😘
I was in town for the eve of my 30th birthday and after spending hours trying to find a hotel on the lodging strip in Bassam, (I was looking for something CLEAN and comfortable which can get a bit difficult to find in Grand Bassam) I stumbled across this gem. the entrance and sallle d'entent mimics a clean minimalist and modern art deco vibe (super zen) . My room was perfect, a step up bungalow style with the most romantic dimmed lighting (couples get in on this). The staff at the hotel was very welcoming and accommodating. Location was perfect beachfront property on the more cleaner side of the beach, a cute mini resto next door that has AMAZING grilled fish and aloco. and a friendly local art store right across the street.. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners who so graciously offered me a birthday meal on the house and helped arrange my transport to abidjan giving me some local recommendations as well. You can tell how much passion is going in to maintain the hotel's image and upkeep in such a professional manner. I highly recommend coral beach and will be back again once I stop foot in Bassam again. Thank you aissata and mom for such a great birthday experience.…
