It is absolutely a treat to stay at The Buckhorn Inn. From the owners to all of the staff, wonderful service is the rule of the day. You will always feel special there. The accommodations range from 5 rooms and 4 suites in the inn, 7 cottages, and 3 houses. My husband and I have stayed in 2 of the regular rooms, 3 of the suites, and all 7 of the cottages. All of them are comfortable and beautifully decorated with gorgeous views of mountains or scenes in nature. When we stayed in one of the suites, a male cardinal sang to us from his perch in a nearby tree every day of our stay. Breakfast is included with a reservation, and we always add the dinner for our stay; both meals are gourmet delights. We have been enjoying this marvelous destination several times a year for 13 years. You, too, will be a repeat visitor if you go that first time.

This is a gem in the Gatlinburg area! We were looking for a quiet, secluded place to stay yet still close to the National Park for hiking, and the Buckhorn Inn turned out to be the perfect place. My daughter and I loved the Tower Room with King bed and 3rd floor reading room with 360 degree windows (bathroom is on 2nd level, so need to be OK with stairs). The staff was friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed a picnic dinner by the lake, watching the swans. They also shared great tips for the National Park! Breakfast was delicious (my daughter was enchanted with the raspberry & cream cheese stuffed waffles) and staff were extra-accommodating to make sure we could get on the road early for our travel plans. We typically stay at AirB&Bs, but this was a much better option; it gave us the privacy we like from rentals (vs. a large hotel) but included breakfast and no cleaning/service fees. Would highly recommend the Buckhorn Inn to families, couples, girlfriends looking for a relaxing getaway!

This was my first visit to Buckhorn Inn. I stayed I. traditional room #2. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. I had a beautiful view of the mountains. The bed was very comfortable and slept well. The bathroom was not large but more than adequate. I am in my seventies so I prefer a walk in shower but this room had a tub/shower combination. In the future, I will ask which rooms and cabins have walk in showers. Breakfast comes with the room and they prefer to know ahead of time if you will be having breakfast. They then have you select a time. If you decide not to have breakfast, try to let them know the day before. Since breakfast starts at 8 AM, it is not compatible with early starts in the national park. With limited parking, the national park gets very crowded by 8 AM at the popular trails.
Part of our group stayed at The Lindsay House. As you enter the house, the 2 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms are on the entry level. Downstairs is the living room/dining area. It has a small kitchenette. The refrigerator is fairly small. In the future, my sister's and I are talking about getting both the Lindsay House and Bebb House. They are right next to each other and the Bebb House has a full kitchen. Also, everything is on one level which makes it easier for me and my old knees...lol. The Bebb House has a beautiful mountain view.
The Buckhorn Inn will be on the top of my list for future trips but it is very popular. Early room/cabin reservations are a must.

We hope to see you again! Please know that, if it is not convenient for you to have breakfast, we will instead gladly pack you a lunch to take with you for your day of exploring. It would be available for pick up the evening before or we would leave it in a common area refrigerator for you to claim before 8 the next morning.

I am sorry to say that our experience was the same as Carla R. We also, along with another couple, were to spend two nights at the Inn on Oct 2-3, while we were attending the Craftsman’s Fair.
Hurricane Helene hit Augusta GA extremely hard. We were without power for 9 days. We were trapped in our homes from fallen trees. We could not get out of our driveways for fallen trees, nor were any roads in Augusta navigable. Even if we could drive we could not get gas. My friend, who booked our reservations, called twice and was told we did not cancel in time and we were charged the full amount with tax . The Inn finally offered a voucher that can be used within one year, could not be given to anyone else, could not be used in October, any holiday or any weekend!

I’m sure this is a lovely place but the lack of compassion this establishment showed during a national disaster tells me I do not want to do business with them.

Sharron D.

The Buckhorn Inn has become our “go-to” when visiting the Smoky Mountains from our home in Atlanta. The setting is private and peaceful with great mountain views. The rooms are charming, clean and comfortable but I think it’s the friendly staff and unique dining options that makes the Inn so special. A full, sit-down, “from the menu” breakfast is included in the room rate and an elegant 3-course dinner is served for only $40 per person. The staff graciously accommodates special requests and dietary substitutions. We have always enjoyed visiting the Smokies but now we specifically look forward to visiting the Buckhorn Inn. Note: The location is very convenient to the Greenbrier and the Sugarlands entrances to the National Park.

I spent 3 nights at the Buckhorn Inn in their cottages (#5 and 7). I enjoyed it immensely. The cottages were beautifully decorated, comfortable, spotlessly clean and quiet. I had everything I needed, even a robe. The bathroom was modern and spacious. There was a screened porch and a balcony with a beautiful view of GSMNP. I had dinner there twice, and they accommodated me as a vegetarian with a delicious pasta dish and a spinach and cheese puff pastry similar to spanakopita. It is in a good location for visiting Gatlinburg and the east side of GSMNP, like Mt. Cammerer and the Greenbrier road entrance. The only suggestion for improvement I have is to install blackout blinds or curtains so guests don't have to wake up too early at first light. I felt that the people at the front desk knew me personally. I was not a number. Service was excellent. Would definitely stay again.

This is my fourth or fifth stay at the Buckhorn Inn in the past 10 years. It has become my place to rest and recharge. The inn is low key and a throw back to a kinder, gentler past, and while it has a rustic feel it is also beautifully kept up and classy and everyone so kind and gracious. I love to just sit and gaze at the nature outside and to wander the grounds and gardens sometimes blissfully alone. A delicious breakfast is provided, either in the dining room or delivered to one's door. And dinner in the inn restaurant is like a 5-star experience. We are back from there now two weeks and I still feel the glow of being there.

We've been going to B and Bs for 35 years for our anniversary. We keep returning to the Buckhorn Inn. It never disappoints, in fact, this visit was even more wonderful than I remembered! The room was spotless, charming and comfortable. Good temperature. Amazing views. Comfortable bed. You have the entire inn at your disposal, the dining area with bookshelves of books and outside screened porches, in addition to a giant den area where home-baked snacks are served at 3 p.m. each day. The breakfast is incredible. You have two main choices that are delicious, but you can also order yogurt and fruit, cereal, choose from 5 juices, and of course hot beverages, plus you also receive a buttermilk biscuit and coffeecake in addition to all your other goodies. The food is amazing. The wait staff are fast and kind.
And the service? These people are just the best. They are helpful and efficient and are genuinely glad to be doing what they are doing. This inn has been serving guests since the 1930s I believe. You know a place that has been around that long has a good reputation for a reason.
An added bonus is that for the price, you are getting so much more than you would at your average B and B. Most places, you have your room, some breakfast, and if you're lucky, a group area where you can be comfortable spending time. At the Buckhorn, you get great service, privacy, spacious common areas, hiking trails, a labyrinth, swans, and beautiful views, and don't forget the incredible food, all for the same price you would pay at any other quality inn.
Visit--you will not regret it.

My wife & I stayed in the Premiere Room 4 suite for four nights and are looking forward to returning in the near future. We met Tracy at check-in and she was incredibly personable, friendly, and informative. The Premiere Room 4 has its own reserved parking spot nearby its entrance. The images on the inn's website don't do this room justice. The living room is very spacious, there's a full kitchen with attached laundry room (stacked washer & dryer). The two full bathrooms both have stall showers, with one also having a large two person oval soaking / jacuzzi tub. There's plenty of room in the closet and storage space in the bureau in the bedroom. Noise from the inn's kitchen can be heard through the room's kitchen, but closing the French doos between the kitchen & the living room cut the noise. We'll book this room again when we return.

This property has glowing reviews, absolutely my husband and I were very excited to be going. We booked 10 months prior to arriving. But then Hurricane Helene caused havoc in the USA. A 100 year phenomenon when it comes to hurricanes. YES, the hurricane was not to hit Gatlinburg, but major rain, flooding and tornado watches were in effect. We were driving an economy rental car. We called the owner, she said she was unaware of the storm, said we were over acting, said she had lived there 25 years ago and no flooding there. She would not work with us. We chose the safe route and did not go. We reached out requesting a refund, as we had to know pay 4 nights somewhere else do to this storm. She ignored our calls and put through all the money, including the taxes?!? Seriously! She is a piece of work. As I read back through her reviews, she has other similar ones. If you end up there she likely has a beautiful place, but in any rare emergency situation, her actions appear heartless and only out for the dollar in her bank account. I can’t support a business like this.

I have not spoken to Carla, although she does quote me in this review. We have offered either refunds or gift certificates to guests who planned to stay with us in October, and who live in areas affected by the hurricane. We have waived our usual 30 day cancellation notice in October for these folks and other folks who may live in areas where it is close to impossible to get to Gatlinburg because of road damage to interstate 40 and interstate 26

I don't think that there would be enough to do at the inn for the children, especially the younger ones. If the older teens were willing to take the younger ones to downtown Gatlinburg or to Pigeon Forge/Dollywood/Splash Country, it might work perfectly
