I booked a weekend stay at the Buckhorn Inn to commemorate the transition of my son's life from earthly to spiritual in a tranquil spot, away from the bustle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Onsite, I discovered a labrynth garden and a 1.5 mile nature trail, where I said hello to the swan and koi fish at Stop #10. I stayed in the Tower Room, a beautifully decorated space with three levels. I was surrounded by lush greenery, as I relaxed and absorbed the views from the many windows at the top level. There was even a pair of binoculars for birdwatching. I ordered breakfast to be delivered and treated myself to breakfast in bed (comfy mattress and pillows for sleeping!), selecting from a different menu each day, wrapped in the comfy robe that was provided (and also available at the gift shop). I also appreciated the small refrigerator and microwave in my room. This property delivered on everything I sought, from superb and friendly service, to privacy, and natural beauty.

My husband and I takel a 4day weekend trip each year to review the past year and set goals for the next year. We had no idea about the accommodations Buckhorn Inn offers. They provide free breakfast, have a huge meeting area we were able to use, they have several walking trails with a pond, you can order $10 lunch sacks and also eat dinner there. The cottage was cozy (screened in porch and balcony off bedroom) and the Mountain View is spectacular. We will return again! What a pleasant discovery!

My various family members have stayed at Buckhorn for the past couple decades. Buckhorn has rooms in the inn, cabins, and homes to rent--all clean and charming/inviting and most with a view of Mt. LeConte or gorgeous scenery. All the staff are amazing--from those who work in the office to the dining room attendants and chefs. The meals are abundant and delicious, with gourmet style dinners and a willingness to accommodate a wide range of dietary needs. We all love Buckhorn so much we try to vacation there every year. A lovely path on the campus goes to a pond with swans, and the Inn is close to the craft loop at the east end of town. In the summer it is a trek to go through Gatlinburg to get to trails to the west of the city, but there are some lovely trails on the Buckhorn side, too.

This was our first (and not last) stay at the Buckhorn Inn. We stayed in cottage 2. We loved the cottage and the view from the Inn was spectacular. Our daily breakfasts in the dining room has a view of Mt. Leconte and served with beautiful china and linen tablecloths. The chef prepared a fantastic choice of delicious breakfasts…one morning was eggs Benedict over crab cakes served with fresh biscuits, and coffee cakes. The menu changes daily…the next day I had luscious crepes with fresh peaches, blueberries and strawberries. Everyone was super nice and treated us like royalty. We’ve booked our first anniversary for next June and hope to go back before then.

My husband and I recently stayed 3 nights in Cabin #4 at the Buckhorn Inn. Our decision to find a location away from the chaos of downtown Gatlinburg turned out to be the highlight of our vacation. The views from our spacious cabin were just spectacular. We watched a thunderstorm over the mountains one evening from our screened porch! The customer service is nothing short of amazing from check-in to meal service. EVERYONE had a friendly smile and worked hard to ensure our stay was enjoyable. We looked forward to breakfast each morning and were not disappointed; the food and coffee were fresh and delicious. We also ate dinner twice at the Inn which is a 3 course dinner and dessert. First class food and service with beautiful views of the mountains. A special thanks to Tiffany who served us both nights, we loved her! All in all, the Buckhorn Inn is not to be missed if traveling to Gatlinburg. You will leave feeling refreshed and anxious to return! A big thank you to all involved in making Cabin #4 our home for a few days!!!

How to start what was an amazing stay at a beautiful inn to celebrate our anniversary. We started with some 'inn dulgences' of chocolate strawberries and flowers. We somewhat randomly had chosen Premier 4 as our room and it was more than amazing. You can see and read all about it at the website and we thoroughly enjoyed every feature the room provides. We had our anniversary dinner in the restaurant upstairs and the food and service were also amazing. We opted to have our breakfasts delivered to our room each morning. They came cheerfully delivered, with a carage of robust coffee and the choices each day were wonderful and varied. Everything about our stay here was just wonderful! Having spent some anniversaries in Marriott properties in Hawaii, Paris and London, we can say the service and culinary prowess were better than many of those. The helpful friendly staff just puts the whole experience over the top. Located near Gatlinburg and not far from Pigeon Forge we ventured out a few times for shows or a dinner but spent the majority of our days enjoying the Buckhorn Inn!

Having traveled to Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge my entire life, usually 5 trips each year, I have no idea how I missed this wonderful treasure until now! An author friend mentioned the Buckhorn Inn in a fictional novel she wrote last year, so when searching for something different to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary this year, I looked online & located the Inn. Seeing a picture of the “red room” (Room 4) caught my attention (my favorite color!) so I decided to book it for our anniversary. What a beautiful room it was! The bed was comfortable, the room was very large & was perfect…we loved it! The breakfast was wonderful, from the food we ate to the lovely dining area to the beautiful views at our table. Every single person on staff there made us feel like family from the minute we arrived. The grounds were so nice as well. The sitting rooms (with fresh baked cookies) & the inviting porches added to the Inn’s appeal. The location is easy to reach from both Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge. Having the Craftsmen’s Loop nearby is a treat as well. I’m sorry I waited 60 years to find the Buckhorn Inn, but this won’t be our last visit. In fact, as soon as we got home, I cancelled a November reservation at a Pigeon Forge motel & booked another room at the Buckhorn Inn instead! I should also mention how easy it is to book online, seeing which rooms are available on all dates. Our goal is to stay in each of the different rooms there, & they are all equally lovely! I look forward to our next visit.

There were four of us so we rented the original owner’s house built around 1938. It has been updated so it has two bedrooms each with its own bathroom along with a full kitchen and lovely great room—two fireplaces! It also has a private patio with amazing views of the Smokies. Can’t get better than that. Except, let me mention the wonderful staff and the meals! A cooked to order breakfast is included and I would advise making dinner reservations. The food is so delicious and you don’t have to search for a restaurant—it’s all there! We have stayed there numerous times and it is perfect—whether you stay in the inn, a cottage or one of the houses. And of course the The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is less than a mile away for hiking, etc. Such a perfect get away.
