Zoder's has been in Gatlinburg for a very long time. The property, like almost every other one we saw there, is crammed into a long skinny piece of acreage and runs along a beautiful little stream where one can trout fish. They seem to have a variety of different type of accommodations. We happened to secure an apartment, very roomy and comfortable, with a balcony over the stream and lots of privacy. Speaking with someone who used to go there, we learned that improvements have been made to it. Although I can say nothing bad about it per se, I can't decide whether or not the owners are in the midst of making improvements or need to do so. Housekeeping will not enter while a unit is occupied by guests, so if something needs to be done, it won't be during the visit. The kitchen clock needed a battery. The ice maker didn't work. Somebody really needs to clean out the cobwebs and such on outside poles. We had no teaspoons and learned that Housekeeping went out and bought some when we brought that to Management's attention. We were missing some things in the kitchen, like tall glasses (short were in supply), measuring cups and spoons, a spatula, hot plate, cooking mitts. Communication between the Front Desk and Housekeeping was spotty. When we did find Housekeeping and make a request, the employees were friendly and immediately accommodating. The furniture was very comfortable. The provided breakfast left something to be desired: packaged pastries, a few energy bars, and coffee. Nothing in which to make tea. We had lots of room. Although parking and roadways through were tight, we had no problems navigating the property with our vehicle. We didn't get to use the outdoor pool, which was used regularly and looked to be in very good order. There were picnic areas, tables, chairs, and swings outside. Although literally on the main drag, it was quiet. Some of the tv stations had problems: no sound for NBC and only static for ABC. It would have been nice to have had a television stations listing, at the least. The handle in the bathtub was loose and could be removed, something I learned when I grabbed it for balance when washing my feet and almost fell. I can't figure out if they're in the midst of making improvements and got hit by covid, a lack of adequate help, and the supply chain problems or something else. It's far from being a bad property or an unsafe place to stay. On the contrary. I feel as if it's setting on the peak of a mountain and I don't know on which side it's going to come down -- improving or getting worse.…
Family week vacation at Zodders. Rented 3 cabins and a cabin/house off the back of the property. Clean, convenient, and friendly staff and grounds group. Continental breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese still not offered. Perfect location for walking to downtown Gatlinburg. Creekside is calming and restive. All the cabins had plenty of room. Good sized outdoor pool. Could have used a closet or hooks to hang clothes in a couple of the cabins. One cabin had a faint sewer smell. We'll be back!
2nd time there. lovely retreat around a creek amidst a very crowded town. stayed there 5 days and didn't feel we ran out of things to do: national park of course caverns pigeon forge gatlinburg itself
We stayed 5 nights and staff and room we were in were excellent. The room was clean and didn't smell bad. The noise from the attraction next door was not noticeable. We will stay here again. It's close to attractions and an easy walk to get where you want to go.
We enjoyed our stay but the hotel is an older one that could use some upgrades. No elevators here. We booked here and walked into Gatlinburg to avoid having to drive and park, it was a long walk but doable. Pools both inside and outside were very nice. One of the best pros to this hotel in my opinion. Staff left new towels each day. None of the amenities like coffee, breakfast, no complimentary things were provided. I figure this was still due to covid precautions. I am a person who packs Clorox wipes and cleans everything well when we travel, I cleaned our room upon arrival and it was dirty. I wiped downed the toilet, tub, light switches, etc. The top of the closet cabinet for luggage storage was filthy, hadn't been dusted in forever. The carpets were almost like they had been sprayed with some sort of wax or something, we wore our shoes at all times. The balcony here was nice and great creek/river view but the coaster next door could be noisy at times.…
I honestly didn't expect much from this hotel..hôtel... but wow... I was so happily surprised!!! 5 stars in every area! We stayed in building number 2, room 172. First off, I loved the convient parking spot. My car was literally just right outside the door. The cottages around us (notably 170/171) with the seperate little cottage house looked SO cute! It was so Gatlinburg... I was so glad to be able to share such a wonderful lodging experience with a friend from the midwest. The river sounded so nice, and just right below us. I will replay the sound of the river in my head several times throughout my workday now just to get me through LOL! Room was very spacious. Well lit and clean. Beds were comfortable enough, but some new bedding in the future would be a great investment. Bathroom was clean and spacious as well. Was *very* impressed with the heated floors too! Such a nice surprise. Location is great also. I am a very active person, so the short walk to downtown was quick and easy. The hôtel was off the strip just enough to feel remote and private from where our room was situated. Overall, though we didn't spend much time in the room, it was one of the best hôtels I've stayed in in Gatlinburg (and I've stayed in just about all of them!). I was bummed about the wine/cheese and milk/cookies not being à thing with covid... but hopefully these last regulations will be lifted soon. Id rebook JUST for the treats!! I was so pleased with this hôtel. Awesome job and thank you to all the kind staff who made our stay plesant. It was just the kind of get away I needed. …
Every traveler's requirements are personal and subjective and for me Zoders delivered big time. It had all of the toys...fridge, microwave, hair dryer, in-room phone, king-sized bed, shower with unlimited hot water, wifi etc. It also provided a table on which I could work at night (I'm a nature photographer who was hiking all day and needed that table to accommodate my computer and notes). The staff was friendly and helpful (Terry even filled me in some local history and gave me the heads up on a few trails) and where I was situated (2nd floor in the back) it was quiet even in the midst of tourist-jammed Gatlinburg. But the real bonus was a private deck above a melodious stream - after a long day of hoofing it was absolutely analgesic to sit out there and soak in the ambience. And here is the kicker: I stayed 14 nights with no complaints. Zoders is definitely worth a look see!…
Another wonderful relaxing few nights at Zoders. Clean rooms. Beautiful creek setting. And friendly folks. We have been staying with Zoders for years and will always do so when we are in Gatlinburg. Balconies over the creek. With all the changes going on in Gatlinburg there is one constant. Zoders
First and last time staying here. This is the worse place I’ve stayed in Gatlinburg. Nasty, musky, and outdated. If I could get my money back and go somewhere else I would!! Pictures online of this place is deceiving!
This is not our first stay at Zoder’s, but we loved it as always. Our room has been updated, and the old carpeting is gone. The room is small, but very clean. We came to town for Thanksgiving and we were able to arrive a day early with no problem. There is nothing better than cracking the window and listening to the creek all night which flows right beside the room. I feel guilty just hiding away from the world and truly relaxing.
