A great campground with friendly staff, roomy levelish sites, fire rings, and most importantly, quiet! Hiking trails right across the road with historic ruins, creeks, and solitude. Far enough from Gatlinburg to be peaceful, and close enough to go for a meal. We stayed here several weeks in July and August and loved it. We’ll be coming back!

My wife and I were very happy with our site #20 and all of the amenities offered at Smoky Bear. Very clean campground and facilities to use were the same. The staff and owners(who are on site) could not have been more helpful. Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable and enjoyable.

We had previously camped here and had a great experience. So, we planned a weekend with friends (7 families with children ages 5-13). We built a fire on both nights and several from our group (8-10 adults) gathered in chairs. On Sat morning, the male attendant came to our camper and informed us that he had received a noise complaint. This was surprising to me, because we were not loud, no music, in fact, we were simply talking by fire. He stated that quiet time was at 10pm. I asked if this meant we had to be in our camper at 10pm and he said no. I explained that we were talking only. Our spot was directly across from where he lives and he did not hear us. On Sat night at 10pm, we were outside by the fire. Again, we were taking, no music. He stated he had received another complaint. We were the only camper among six empty sites; we had no neighbors. The worker was rude and had very poor communication skills. We camp a lot and have never had a noise complaint. And to be honest, this was probably the quietest we have ever been at a campground. As we typically listen to music.

Our quiet time starts at 10 pm and unfortunately when other campers call to complain about your noise it is our job to enforce the rules.

There are many campgrounds on the same road as Smoky Bear. It appeared to me that Smoky Bear was smaller with more spaced out sites. We really enjoyed our time there and the staff was quite helpful when pulling in and delivering firewood. Quite relaxing and laid back campers. Ice cream truck came through every evening. It is away from all the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg, but close enough when wanted. Donna Jo's market just down the road had everything we needed multiple times. The only real downside is that the campground is close to a busy road so you get the noise.

Very nice campground to include the amenities. My only comment is the sewer connection too far from the other utilities. Myself and a few others had to purchase sewer hose extensions just to be able to hook up.

Yes, some of the sewer connections are at the back of the sites. For this reason we have sewer lines for borrow so that you don't have to purchase. Most people choose to buy their own extra lines for future camping trips and we have those for sale in our camp store.

Very nice campground. Run by very accommodating and nice people. Campground is small but very clean. The bathhouse is are the best you will find. We had a very comfortable extended stay here. It is very centrally located for Smoky mountains hiking and not too far of a drive to whatever you might need.

Wonderful campsite not even 30 minutes from Gatlinburg, TN. Gravel and paved camping spots with full water and electric hook up if needed. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful....Klaire gave wonderful advice on which hikes we should do on our trip. The bathroom's seem to have been recently renovated because they were clean!!!! Best showers and bathrooms I've ever seen at a campsite. Overall, wonderful experience at this campsite and we will be returning in the future.

Awesome campground! Highly recommend. About ten minutes from Rocky Top Sportsplex. The bathhouses are very clean and conveniently located in center. Quiet and the lots are spacious and private! Most of all, the staff is awesome. We had an issue with our slide out on our camper and the two workers helped us until we got it fixed!

We stayed at this campground for 6 nights recently. The campground is neat and clean. It is about 11 miles outside of Gatlinburg which takes you away from the hustle and bustle. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again. The associates were very helpful and accommodating. Great Job !
