So after a cabin "double booked" our anniversary/birthday weekend stay, and said "sorry", I started looking for somewhere reasonable and close to stay. We liked what we read about The Gillette, so we booked 2 nights. Upon arrival, we found an amazingly friendly staff!! While this is an older hotel, the room was very clean and the amenities were updated. Excellent shower head with good water pressure (a feature that's not found very often)! We checked in and headed to the pool, which again, was clean and well kept (and NOT busy at all)!!! No issues whatsoever, and its located within 1/4 mile walk to the strip, just behind the Space Needle. We also had a family of bears visit the dumpster across the parking lot on Friday evening, around 730... an amazing "extra" to our visit! Plan is to try and book a weekend there once a month!!…
My husband and I stayed here along with some other family members back in October. We loved it! It is very clean and well kept. We were able to sit on the balcony to visit with each other and make plans and it is within walking distance of all the excitement of downtown Gatlinburg. It is close to all of our favorite places to go! This will be our go-to place to stay from now on.
Very nice family run. Very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were clean. Housekeeping was excellent. Walking distance to convention Center and downtown. Able to sit outside on the deck in front of your room.
Hotel is having a big chunk of their rooms are being renovated and we were put in a room right next door to the construction.. The construction wasn't the problem as much as employees standing outside our door and talking early in the morning. Hotel doesn't allow smoking in the rooms but feel free to fire them up right outside your door so that everyone has to walk through your smoke to get to the elevator. Fire department is practically in the same parking lot so expect to jump out of your skin with every call they go on. Room was dated but very clean. King size bed was comfortable. They are remodeling so the rooms will be more modern in time. Lady at the front desk during check in was super nice and you can't beat the location. We parked and never moved our car until we left. I would stay here again but ask for a room away from the construction.…
We had reservations to stay at this hotel for the new years eve celebration. Unfortunately we tested positive for Corona virus and had to cancel. Hotel refuses to refund at $200 deposit. We reached out as soon as we got our test results back but they still refuse to give refund. We would have even taken credit towards a later stay but they still refused to negotiate. In this day and age with a pandemic going on it would be nice to know you are protected should you get sick this is not something you can see coming. Obviously the owner and management have no compassion and do not care about customers coming back. I'm sure they filled the rooms since they were sold out the day after we canceled which means they were not out any money. I do not recommend staying here.
We spent 2 nights here on a working vacation to Gatlinburg . The Gillette was the perfect place. Our room was spacious and very clean. The balcony was a great addition . Everyone was so friendly and you can’t beat the location. Will stay here again if back in town.
We will definitely choose Gillette Motel in Gatlinburg for any future stays in Gatlinburg. Rooms were very clean and the beds were so comfortable. Housekeeping ladies took such good care of us. Clella i hope i spelled that correctly was so sweet and made everything about our reservations and stay so much more enjoyable. Unfortunately we had to leave early and they went above and beyond to assist with our check out and was very understanding. Will definitely refer all our friends and family to stay there for their vacations. Most rooms have old hotel blankets but we had bright white clean linens that brightened the rooms up. Hated to leave but look forward to future stays with them.
This hotel is outdated. The rooms are clean. The bathrooms are very small. The pool is outdoor and is small. I would like to have had a lobby to get coffee. The price is average for the location. That is what you are really paying most for is the location.
Check in was a breeze, and the lady who checked us in….was very friendly. The room is clean, large size for a standard room and the bed is comfortable. It’s about a block up from the space needle. We are in a double Queen standard room near The Historic nature trail, and near the elevator. Bones BBQ is right next door, for those who like BBQ. Convention center is right across the street. We would recommend this motel. It’s no frills, but very clean and for me that’s what’s most important.
This is a sweet little hotel. It is old school but the rooms are very clean and the employees were very nice. Gatlinburg accommodations have gotten super expensive and this place is very reasonable in price for what you get. Super close and easy to walk to downtown dining yet out of the craziness and quiet at night. I would definitely stay here again.
