This hotel/motel is located close to all the activities of Gatlinburg but if located in the woods by a stream for a nice quiet rest. The cabin-like rooms are charming. Try to rent one with a fireplace.

Hotel's Favorite
We booked a suite through Booking.com. It was in an older area of the property. At first I was disappointed that we were not on creekside but we were told we could walk to the water and sit in provided chairs. Just sitting there enjoying the sound of the water rushing over the huge rocks, the shade of the trees, and the gentle breeze was so relaxing. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The decor and furniture were dated but the bed and pillows were very comfortable. It reminded me of “camp”. We walked to downtown Gatlinburg each night we were there. Walking down wasn’t bad but the return uphill walk was more strenuous. The staff was informative and polite. On our return trip, I will book early and ask for a creekside room.

We have been to Carr's many times over the years, and found that it is not as good as before. we stayed in a cottage that was somewhat unclean. It almost looked as if no-one made sure bathroom floors were swept, nor cleaned from dirt on the floor in upper bathroom. Many of the blinds were kinked up or out of their holders at the bottom. Several light switches did nothing at all! I had to tighten one of the toilet lids due to almost falling off the first day their! For the price we paid there should have been a better job of maintaining these cottages! I'm afraid we will not stay there anymore.

We had a great little vacation at Carr’s. Stayed in room 301, nice mountain stream view. Room has a fireplace, and is quite comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking is directly in front, and there were plenty of spaces. We will be back!

I booked a room with a king bed, we were put in a handicap room with 2 queen bed. When I checked in I brought that to the clerks attention ( who was busy watching a movie and did not want to be bothered) I said I’ll pay extra was basically ignored!! So they advertise everything is between .5-.7 miles from there place! Try 1.5 miles to bottom of the hill! If you ask about trolley service (which is confusing enough, the desk clerk gives you more confusing information) the parking is a nightmare 1st come 1st serve so at times you park outside your door then a mile away next time!! A spider web hung over one of the bed which a spider dropped from !! The creek outside is nice but the trash everywhere kills the mood!! No phone in room, cell service is spotty there!! Save your $ and book in town!! This place is a dump!!

Well, it was an up & down weekend, but the customer service at Carr’s was absolutely 5 star & Les to a great long weekend. We booked room 101, a motel room on the creek with a wood burning fireplace. It was nice! Older, but wonderfully maintained & absolutely spotless!!! We checked in & bought some firewood at the office. Settled in & had a great stay. Until Friday night when loud neighbors decided to scream like I’ve never heard outside of a horror movie. I surmised no dying & knocked in the wall to let them know they were definitely being heard. A few minutes later, they were beating on the adjoining door & trying to open it. What?!? A quick call to the desk & a promise to get it stopped & we heard no more. I was not comfortable sleeping next to the lunatics another night, so I called the desk the next morning. They apologized profusely (it was not their fault, but they still apologized) & said to pack up & stop by the office, they’d move us rooms. Those sweet folks upgraded us to a cottage. So sweet, especially as they’d already handled it beautifully! We loved the grounds. The creek rushing by, fire pits & grills & tons of seating. The creek is so loud it drowns out all the noises of the city. It’s just lovely. I love that you ask for housekeeping instead of it being automatic. We never need it & always feel like it’s a waste of their time. CJ at the front desk gets a major shout out. Such a sweet guy & handled everything smooth as silk. Already planning a return trip!!

Room Tip: 407, 408, 409 probably have the best creek noise, but also get a bit of headlights from the road...

I enjoyed my little getaway with this room we had. A view to a beautiful little creek outside our back patio. Room was decent size for two people. No issues to complain. Could walk to downtown no need to drive barely any parking anywhere.

My son and I stayed in cottage 405 just one night while attending a tournament at Rocky Top Sports Ctr. Front desk folks were nice and helpful. The cottage was nothing fancy, but clean and exactly what we needed for the small amount of time we spent in it. Right on the road, but the river drowns out all sounds of traffic. My only negative was the motel next door (which is right beside our cottage) was very run down and uninviting looking. I was a bit nervous when we came in late since there was no one around and I was alone with my young son. We had no problems, but I'm not sure I would recommend for singles or ladies. Other than that, it was good value for our quick trip.

This will definetly be a place we visit and stay at again. The cabins are awesome with incredible views of the mountains and creek rapids and falls, There are some bear "on-site". We didn't see any but heard one or two late one night trying to get into to trash. We booked an extra night we liked it so much!

My family has been staying with Carr’s for nearly 50 years in November. Sad to say this may the last time. We have always looked over the decor because it was clean and the family that owned Carr’s was so nice. Now, that it has changed hands things have gone down hill. There are random tractor trailers parked as well as cars. Trash heaps piled up from old units. Dishwasher wouldn’t stay on, and electrical plugs kept popping (GFI). Many of my family members stated problems as well like no cold water to temp the SCALDING hot water, and stove eyes not working properly. To top it off, I left an expensive blow dryer and called to get it, and it “was not turned in.” Figures. So sad to see such a true gem fall into uncaring hands.
