Stayed her for a conference and was registered by my employer and after reading the reviews was not expecting a great experience, but it was actually very good. The lobby looks to have been recently renovated and the rooms were also probably done a few years ago. Had a King room with a fireplace. There is some wear and tear (the arms to a fabric chair in the room were visibly worn) but the rooms was clean, big TV, nice bathroom (less than average amount of sloppy hotel bathroom "repairs"). For the price of just over $200 with tax, etc. I felt it was a little over priced, but it is Gatlinburg. A plus is unlike a lot of hotels I stay at, the AC/Heater doesn't constantly whine all night long when it is not heating or cooling.
Parking in Gatlinburg is horrible AND expensive if you can find it, but I never had trouble getting a spot at the hotel (no fee to park!) and it is just a 5 minute walk to the convention center, breakfast places and a small Starbucks across the street from the convention center. To get to the main drag on Parkway it's better to cut through the back of the hotel parking lot and through the Hampton Inn parking lot. To try and walk from the front of the hotel on River Rd is a little dangerous (for strollers, wheelchairs, etc) because there is a long section of no sidewalks/paths and you have to walk in the road itself with a lot of car traffic and it actually adds a few minutes vs cutting through the parking lot. If you don't want to walk on the extremely busy and crowded (pedestrians/cars) Parkway, across the street from the front of the Hilton is a nice sidewalk that runs along the Little Pigeon River that parallels the Parkway. Did not eat here or visit the bar, but noticed they had a grind by the cup automatic coffee machine that was out of order in the little store area that cost $ per cup. If I have to stay in Gatlinburg again I would stay here. Off the main drag, quiet, and based on the large amount of families/large groups that run through these hotels and probably tear them apart, at least I know this place is pretty well put-together.

They really do a good job here. We had breakfast both days and it was always fresh and hot. If you are in the Gatlinburg area this a great choice. It is right along the river and everything downtown is literally steps away.

The hotel was clean, quiet, and convenient to the Parkway and restaurants. The staff were all friendly. We ate breakfast there two mornings and it was okay—especially given it only cost $12/person. The rooms were older—but clean and comfortable except for the mattress being hard. We had a fireplace and balcony room facing the river and it was quiet and relaxing to sit on the balcony. Overall, I was pleased with the stay—just wish the mattress was more comfortable.

We could have accepted the condition of this hotel if it was one of the many mom and pop hotels in town but since it carries the Hilton name and came with a hefty Hilton price we expected much more than we received . The lobby furniture is worn out and sagging, the patio furniture was worn out, had cigarette burns and was very dated. Our fireplace room was small, the bed was very stiff and was sitting on a platform too large for the bed and as a result we kept hitting our shins on the platform. The bathroom had mold around the soap tray in the shower, the shower curtain was ripped in three different places and someone had replaced the elongated toilet with a smaller round bowl toilet and the marks were still on the tile where the the old base used to sit . Needless to say the bathroom was in need of an upgrade. This hotel does not have easy access to the parkway either. You have to walk up through a parking garage for the shortest route. Another notable disappointment was that they charged $12 for breakfast which was of poor quality and did not even include their bacon which was offered at yet another additional charge. Our second day we opted to walk down the street to Crocketts Breakfast camp and had a Great breakfast for the same cost.
With so many great choices of Hotels in town with Balcony views of the Beautiful mountains , some of which are $100 less a night we would not stay here again . Live and learn I guess .

So we got the king suite with jacuzzi tub, balcony and fireplace. Not cheap at $350 a night. Keep in mind though overall this is not a budget friendly hotel but I'm sure most the ones on the strip are not. But we splurged since it was our annivesary weekend and we planned to spend time in the room as well to spite all the surrounding activities. The time we spent here was cold. When in room we kept fireplace on, wall unit off and door cracked so we could enjoy the sound coming from the creek plus the fireplace keeps the room pretty toasty so cracking the door levels that out. Rooms were very clean. Mixed Reviews i read before coming made me a bit nervous so to address those...i didn't see anything that needed updating and the jacuzzi tub was tiled in a vintage look to look older which i like. Inside pool is not heated to spite what is advertised, its very cold so outside hottub we never got to use because it was Always full with adult and kids due to the pool being useless because it's cold. I never saw any bubbles either so the jets may not work.. but it didnt bother us since we had private jucazzi in our room. Fireplace can not be left on because its on a 60 minute timer. Control to jucuzzi tub is on wall in doorway which makes it a bit inconvenient to control when your in the tub. You do need to tell them day before if you want your room cleaned. As far as employees go we didnt have any issues or witness any either. We never had breakfast here since we knew ahead they charged we opted to bring snacks and fruits making use of frig and microwave in room and enjoy all the great resturants surrounding the hotel for hot meals. They do have a Keruig coffee maker in room so we brought our favorite kcups from home though the ones they provide were a green mountain a good brand youd have to ask for more ea day since they only provide 2 cups of regular. Overall we were happy. It fit our needs.

Free continental breakfast is not free. Room is overpriced shower head sprayed water all over ceiling and bathroom floor and the beds are lumpy and the pillows are flat. Also the coffee that is actually free in front of the front desk was as well to have been hot water very dissatisfied and wouldn’t stay at this location again in the future 😡

We have been to Gatlinburg several times over the years and this is the second time staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. The hotel has a great location, within walking distance of everything on the strip, along with ample parking even during their most crowded months. The lobby, eating and lounging area was light and airy, neat and clean, all you could ask for. We had a balcony room with a fireplace and large jetted tub. The room was clean and everything functioned as it should. If available, we plan to stay here on our next Gatlinburg visit too.

Great location and terrific service from the front desk however the rooms are a bit dated and awkward.
We enjoyed a balcony room facing the river on the third floor. Perfect. It cannot a fireplace and whirlpool tub. The tub, in our opinion, is totally unnecessary and a waste of valuable room space. It is a throwback to 1980’s Poconos. YKIYK. The only chair and ottoman did not fit into the space that was left in the room and we found ourselves moving its location continually.
Lastly, it’s time for HGI to reflect on their post COVID housekeeping policies. Prices are higher and housekeeping is offered less. One must request daily room housekeeping for your stay or it’s just not going to happen, other than for an extended stay.
Let the guest choose to refuse daily housekeeping rather than the current policy of extended stay or a 24 hour prior notice. This policy is obsolete and clearly a cost saving measure.
Other than that, it’s a great hotel, convenient parking and a wonderful staff.

This was my third visit to Gatlinburg (for the Wildflower Pilgrimage), and the third place I stayed at. I liked this hotel best and would stay here again.

The location on River Road, not on the Parkway, was a huge plus. It made for easy getting in and out of the town, and there was no street noise. The parking lot behind the hotel always had spaces available, and the parking spaces had more than two inches between vehicles (unlike the Hampton nearby).

I was fortunate to reserve a room with a balcony, and I enjoyed sitting outside in the evening with a very pleasant view of the creek. I was a little concerned about noise, as my room was three stories above the hot tub, but the cheerful woman at the front desk assured me her guests were usually not rowdy. And she was right! I never heard any hallway or next-door noise as well (I should add that I stayed here over three weekdays and cannot speak for the weekend).

During my stay at the hotel, I did not see anyone from housekeeping in the halls, and I did empty my own trash each day. But my room was very clean when I arrived, the hotel premises were clean as well, and that was important.

I loved my stay at HGI Gatlinburg Downtown. I cannot say enough good things. The breakfast was fantastic (everything you would want; pancakes, eggs, potatoes, biscuits/gravy, bacon etc etc). Lovely coffee available in the lobby. Hot tub was awesome. The restaurant was pretty good; chicken wings were great but I would recommend a little more sauce on the poutine as it was a little dry. The river running along the front of the hotel was awesome to see and hear daily. The location of this hotel is fantastic as you can avoid the main strip (which takes forever in a car), and simply walk a block or 2 and you're right there. You are 3 minutes drive into the Smoky Mountain Nat'l Park and only about a 20 minute drive to Pigeon Forge. As a Hilton Diamond Member I usually look for Hilton locations first and this Hilton property knocked it out of the park. I would highly recommend. If you can get a balcony room with a fireplace you won't regret it. We stayed here 5 nights at the beginning of November and I must give a huge shoutout to Derek who is a hotel Rockstar in my opinion. He was great on the phone with information before arrival and during the stay.
