We spent 3 nights at the Shoreline Inn in late July. The location is FANTASTIC. The patio faces Lake Superior, and is within 20 feet of the water but about 6 feet above the shoreline so you have a great view not blocked by people waking by.. Restaurants and attractions in the town are all within walking distance. The staff... More

We have stayed at the Shoreline Inn in Grand Marais around 8 times over the last 10 years. We have recommended it to other people. They have the BEST VIEW in Grand Marais and a great deck area to view Artists Point and Lake Superior. All that being said, I have no idea what is now happening with this property.... More

This place is an old, dated and somewhat tired-looking brick building. If you have 5-star expectations, you'll hate it. If all you need is a hot shower and bed, you'll do just fine. FYI - there's no AC, but they do provide a large fan in each room. On the plus side, I lucked out and had a near unobstructed... More

Our overnight visit was wonderful. Our room was clean and although faced the street side was cool and inviting. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. Quaint little town with just the right number of touristy shoreline shops. Very affordable. Only downside, as this is a rather old hotel, is that there were very few electrical outlets to... More

I made a reservation online for a 2-night stay. I called the hotel a week before our arrival, just to make sure of our reservation. When we arrived, about 6:00 pm, we tried to check in but were told that my name wasn't in the system. Being it was a very busy weekend in Grand Marais, I am SURE they... More

We have been coming here for year's. This year was the warmest and the management was very accommodating and made sure the 80+ yr old aunties were comfortable. We enjoy staying here so close to all the shops, close to walking out to the light house and the lake views are awesome. I'll have to say over the years we... More

Stay was ok, no ac & the motel is in dire need of maintenance and general cleaning. I'll include some pictures that illustrate some of those issues. Management is poor, just a lot of talk and not much do. When we checked out we didn't get a thank you or "view was your stay". Breakfast is a total joke. We'll... More

This "motel" is a vintage building. I'm not sure there is a location any closer to Lake Superior than the Shoreline Inn. It is aged and dated but it's a good value and in the middle of everything in Grand Marias. There is no patio more spectacular to the Lake than this. I wish I could give it 5 stars... More

We arrived about 20 minutes before check-in time. When we walked into the lobby there was a couple talking to the lady at the desk. They were obviously already guests and were just chatting. When they finally moved away, the phone rang. The woman picked up the phone, still without even acknowledging us. The phone conversation was interesting in that... More

This was our second stay at the Shoreline Inn. The first time was a few years ago, we were satisfied and would probably have rated it at least "average". This time we have to rate it as "poor". Upon checking out our room, we noticed the toilet paper hadn't been replaced. Not a big deal, we asked for more and... More
