Positives: Cute cabin feel. Like the simplicity and quaint feel Nice touches like coffee, microwave, mugs, soaps Negatives: We could hear the neighbors on both sides. We found the bed exceptionally uncomfortable. No A/C which was necessary
We loved our stay in the Robin's Nest! Quiet, quirky - but tasteful - and very comfortable, can you say “towel warming rack?!” Feather Nest Inn is within walking distance of everything, but tucked up the hill, so you can escape the hubbub. Heather has everything you need in the well-equipped kitchen, and the view of the lake out the picture window, was lovely for our romantic dinner. We’ll be back.
We stayed here for 5 days for some great Fall hiking Sept 25-29th......Nice to come back from hiking and settle in the Chickadee Room(Dog friendly)Comfortable beds...If I had any questions or problems Heather is there to help out... Walking distance to anything you need or want in Grand Marais.... Great WiFi.....We will stay here again next Fall....
We stayed three nights in the Chickadee room over the Art Festival weekend. We basically parked our car at the hotel and walked around the town all weekend. Very convenient location! I believe the owners are redecorating the rooms so a few touches still left to finish but all in all a very comfortable unit. The motel units are run as housekeeping units which I didn't realize, but not a problem. We had a great stay!
We stayed at the Feather Nest for three nights and were in room #4, the Loon Nest...loved it! What a perfect home base for our explorations around the North Shore. We liked being in walking distance of the restaurants and shops in Grand Marais (and the lake!) but also appreciated being close to other activities like driving the Gunflint Trail and visiting Isle Royale National Park via the boat service based in Grand Portage. The Loon Nest is updated and very comfortable. Can't believe how much room we got for the rate we paid! It's easy to recommend the Feather Nest. So glad we chose to stay there!
