This was our second trip to Loon Lake Lodge and we thoroughly enjoyed both visits. The cabins (we've stayed in #4 and #5) are welcoming, clean, and well-appointed with full kitchens and lovely views of the lake. The lodge is a charming place to play games, sit by the fire, or have a meal (the Walleye is exceptional). But the... More

We just spent a wonderful three days at the Loon Lake Lodge. The authentic cabins are cozy, clean and have a million dollar view. Our hosts Andrea and Derek clearly take pride in their lodge. They are gracious, fun and full of information about the area (eg., hiking trails, where to find wild berries). There are fully equipped kitchens and... More

This little lodge with individual cabins is so cute, quaint and a perfect get away! They are close enough to Grand Marais but far enough to get away from it all. Having a long weekend without technology was a great refresher. Having the full kitchen in the cabin also was great so we could bring our own food! Loon lake... More

Hosted a sit down dinner for 14 in their wonderful historic lodge diningroom. It was World Class from start to finish. The Walleye was the best I have ever had but others told me the duck and ribs and wild caught salmon were at the same level of excellence. A real treasure of a find!

We stumbled on this collection of vintage (with all modern conveniences) cabins by accident and happy we did. The hosts, Andrea and Derek do a great job making you feel welcome. The cabins have kitchens and grills but you can also eat in the lodge. Water toys are there if you want to explore the lake and it's close to... More

We didn't actually stay at Loon Lake Lodge, but were staying in a cabin just down the road. So, we can't speak to the cabins themselves, but we can say that the newish owners are fantastic and so very helpful. We rented a couple canoes from them, and they helped us in planning our navigation to a great canoe, portage... More

Wonderfully rustic cabin where you can hear the loons call. Only stayed one night, but could feel the stress slipping away. Charming and attentive owners. The meals were excellent. Felt a bit pampered. This place, overall, is intimate and not at all depersonalized. Next time, and there will be a next time, we will brave the kayaks, and go fishing.... More

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Loon Lake Lodge. The lodge was recently sold to a young couple with a very cute son. They couldn't have been more charming or welcoming and they seem totally committed to keeping the lodge in the same authentic Boundary Waters style. We stayed in "The Shack," and it was clean, comfortable and... More

FannnnnnTAStic!!! Seriously. I traditionally stay at a contemporary, modern, on-one-of-the-lake's place ... NEVER more now that L.L.L. was recommended and DELIVERED beyond belief. Yes rustic, bring music and a player if you're like me and like it during bfast, boating, dinner, ect. They have plenty of games, books, boats, and outdoor yumyum things to do ~ do not waste your... Stayed at the Loon Lake Lodge for a quick getaway, and were immediately welcomed by Andrea, Derek and Dax. Brought our Great Dane puppy on his first trip, and he was also welcomed wholeheartedly! Stayed in cabin 2 which was perfect for us with a full kitchen and grill. But, don't miss the pan fried walleye or the delicious breakfast... More

Thank you for the review Jody. It was great meeting you, Dave, and Samson. Dax especially loved meeting a dog 3 feet taller than him. We're glad you were able to relax and take in the amazing view from cabin 2. Come back and stay longer next time (mainly so Andrea can get her Great Dane fix). Enjoy the rest... More
