We love Naniboujou, from its historic dining room to it's quirky but nice rooms to the outstanding meals in the dining room in front of the biggest stone fireplace in Minnesota. But, the thing that brings us back every year is the staff of folks that work here. You simply will not find a nicer family and nicer people working... More

I stayed here with my husband over Valentine's weekend and we really enjoyed our stay. The lodge is cozy and beautiful. The staff were all so kind. We went skiing on Saturday in Lutsen so we wanted to be on the road by 8:00 am which meant we wouldn't be able to eat breakfast before we left, but the staff... More

My husband and I go to the Naniboujou Lodge every year in the winter. We love the "all-inclusive" type stay in the winter season. The rooms are always clean and quiet. They are smaller than traditional hotel rooms but that's okay, we love the ambiance here. We love that we can disconnect with no tvs, wifi, or cell service. The... More

We are on our way back from another incredible weekend at Naniboujou. The food was a 10 out of 10. I've seen references where people say the food is expensive, but do keep in mind that in the winter it's a set meal, and price, which includes EVERYTHING! Soup or salad, rolls, main dish with a number of sides, coffee... More

Without a doubt, Naniboujou Lodge is an unbelievable place to stay. The natural vistas surrounding the place, the beauty of the lodge, the quality of the food all amount to one of the most memorable stays you will ever have. I will note that the food costs an inordinately large amount of money, but this is somewhat offset by the... More

We stopped by for afternoon tea on a rainy fall day. It was a bit pricey but it was fun and a bit of special during out trip to hike & enjoy the fall colors. The ceiling of the restaurant & the fireplace are both really special. I'm glad we stopped.

I loved the lack of TVs, WIFI and phones as well as the countless board games and puzzles. We went out on a couple amazing hikes on the Superior Hiking Trail. The food at the restaurant was amazing and those cinnamon rolls were seriously the size of a head. It was wonderfully relaxing and fun.

We had expected to rave over Naniboujou..... But we were a bit disappointed... The bed was a sleep number & the most uncomfortable bed ever...... Room small & cramped...We were above the reception desk, so lots of noise & the restaurant wasn't anything special.... The views however made up for it.... Lake Superior.... So so lovely.. & the little beach... More

Many things at this property that are espoused as quaint are really just ways for the management to save money and have more profit instead of guest comfort. A hotel serves one purpose and that is to provide a clean comfortable stay for a guest in exchange for money. Period. I want to start with the positive. The location is... More

This place was built on the North Shore in the 1920s by Ring Lardner and some celebrity authors and sports figures of that time as a retreat. The local Indians did a lot of the work and it is still showing in many places such as the ceiling of the main dining room--spectacular. Some rooms are still of the style... More
