The spruce cabin we stayed in was as solid as the Rock of Gibraltar. Sitting by the wood stove on cool June nights was wonderful. Peaceful lake. Toasty sauna. If you like solitude and nature this place is it. If you need to be in contact with the rest of the world this place is not for you. Full kitchen... More

We traveled to Heston's Lodge and stayed from Friday to Monday. It was a fantastic location with quaint and cozy cabin accommodations. The owners were extremely friendly and aided us in all of our winter activities (cross country skiing, fat tire biking and snowshoeing) that we engaged in. We had a great time!

Three couples spent three nights in the Tamarack cabin in February. Barb and Greg couldn't have been more helpful, from giving us tips on where to Nordic ski, snow-shoe, and ride our fat tire bikes, to baking us a loaf of sourdough bread. The cabin was clean with plenty of towels and kitchen supplies and If you forget something, Barb... More

Heston's Lodge is a secluded, beautiful place to enjoy nature without the interferences of our daily lives in the city. The cabins are clean and rustic, and we were provided everything we needed for our stay to be relaxing. Fresh linens, well stocked kitchen supplies, comfortable beds and magnificent views of Gunflint Lake, that is situated on the US border... More

This is our second time to Hestons and we had another great vacation. Hestons cabins are so nice and close to the water - we could hear the loons at night and just walk down to our boat or the fire pit. Barb and Greg are very kind and they helped us to re-schedule our week when my son had... More

Freindly, clean, fun, and beautiful location. Lots of wildlife to see in the area. Great family oriented, they are very detailed and thoughtful with the extra provisional necessities ie; private dock area, campfire pit, BBQ grill, wood for campfire, matches, canoes and kayaks provided made the trip extra fun. Would definitely return.

We stayed at Heston's and had a wonderful time even though it was a little cool to do much fishing. Our hosts were friendly. Greg even helped us get our boat in the water our first day as the water was very choppy and I was having trouble. There is no internet, cell service or TV. It was good to... More

There are simply no words to discourage staying here. It's off the grid. Leave your chargers and devices at home, unless all you want to use them for are to take many photos. The owners, Barb & Greg could not be more accomodating or delightful. Their cabins are clean, comfortable and welcoming. They are not ritzy with HD TV. (that's... More

I stayed at Heston's lodge this summer on the advice of a friend and it was a true gem. It could not have been better. My cabin was perfect, charming and inviting. I had a private dock, and the friendliest loon ever! This place is reminiscent of a time passed, a family run, friendly, quiet lodge with beautiful big pines... More

We recently stayed for 4 nights in the Diamond Willow Cabin. It was just steps from the shore of Gunflint Lake and was amazingly peaceful. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We only used the bedroom downstairs but it had a comfortable queen bed with a good selection of pillow and blanket options. The room...
