Lake Five Resort has been a family owned and operated business in Flathead County for 100 years and running. Our rustic log cabins were built in the 1920's, and our rustic RV and camp sites were originally built for tents and Model T's. We are located just outside Glacier National Park on Lake Five, three miles west of West Glacier. Best swimming in the world.

I wrote the following comments as we stayed 6 days...in real time. Child size toilets, too small for a grown man to sit on. Token Showers: Four dollars to take a 10 minute shower. Very cramped stalls. No dogs allowed around the main beach on the lake. Extra charge for parking a trailer that should fit inside the site. $10 a night for a dog. Obviously not really pet friendly. No dog park. No The sites are sort of level but hard to gauge and VERY SMALL. Paid laundry adequate, but no hot water. One washer, one dryer. Some of the sewer connections are right in the middle of the sites. Cell-service almost nonexistent. Very poor reception. Wi-Fi nearly non-existent. Advertised, but very poor. No bear proof waste containers indicating no bears in the recent past. More like a scout camp than a resort. No hot water to wash your hands in the bathroom. Charges for extra people…above 2…not very family friendly. Extra charge for a trailer that should have fit in my site. The lake is beautiful and smooth. Even when it was quiet, there was a wake surfing boat on it making large wakes. My own kayaks were wonderful. (Renting was pricey!) The slide and diving board are a nice plus. Rustic but quaint.

We were very dissapointed!! We paid $121+ a night for seven nights. NO wifi, NO ice and NO laundry. The sites needed trimming so you would not scratch your rv. We have stayed at resorts that were half this price with a pool! There are other campgrounds you should check out before you stay here.

This was our first trip to Glacier National Park and was blown away by the Going to the Sun Road on our way to Lake Five, however the crowds made the journey down the road more stressful and less than ideal. Expecting much of the same when we arrived at Lake Five, I was not looking forward to it but what a relaxing and cozy gem it turned out to be. So much so that we decided to spend one of the days planned for going back into the park just to hang out at the Lake Five beach and play on the paddle boards. The kids had a great time and the parents could relax. The owners, Dan and Dawn, were very friendly and clearly do it for the love of the place. Jake, the ever present four legged greater, is always happy to supply all the kids with a friendly snuggle when they miss their own dog at home.

We have been coming to Lake Five for 7 summers; we always stay in Cabin 9 and we absolutely adore the place. The highlight this year was, upon our arrival, discovering that Cabin 9 had a brand new QUEEN sized mattress! It truly made our stay more comfortable and restful. Thank you to the owners for the awesome upgrade! Mary L.

This is THE place to stay near West Glacier! PROS: on a beautiful lake with lots of activities, minutes from Glacier National Park, family run (for generations), nice sites. They CARE and it shows. Very clean. GREAT STAFF (main “hosts” are Dan and Lindsey - Lindsey is the granddaughter of the owner. CONs internet best by lodge and can get overwhelmed during peak times. PROs very definitely outweigh CONs. I’ll be staying here again.

My husband and I recently stayed 10 nights at Lake Five Resort for our five-year wedding anniversary/first honeymoon. We stayed in cabin 7, it was perfect for 2 people. The cabin is a rustic/antique feel, we loved that. There is no kitchen in this cabin, but we were able to bring a grill and an extra table, it worked out fine for meal prep. Bed was comfortable. The cabin was clean. The site was spacious with a firepit and picnic table. It is in close proximity to the bathhouse, laundry, main office, and beach. The owners were very nice and helpful. Pricing was very reasonable for the area and time of year. WiFi was not the focus of our trip, but we were able to get WiFi regularly sitting outside our cabin, was less reliable inside. But it is there and available. Cell service was touch and go, the servers were overloaded in the area due to how many people were attempting to use the networks. As far as the area goes, this resort is in a perfect location. You are within 5 minutes of the West Glacier park entrance, 30 minutes of the North Fork Road, 1hr 45mins of Saint Mary's entrance, and about 2.5 hours from the Many Glacier entrance. Columbia Falls is a short distance away for grocery shopping and those sorts of things. We definitely plan to stay here again and would highly recommend this to anyone!

I would like to start by saying that this is a charming place for a getaway if it had the proper amenities. Now when I read online that I will have WiFi I assume that I will have it in my cabin. Upon arrival my friend and I entered to check in, her father had a stroke so we needed a place with WiFi so we could work as well as attend to his needs. This place is 3 mins down the road from him so we thought perfect. My friend is mixed and her father is white. She is much darker because of her African American side. I am mixed but I am much lighter as I am mixed with Hispanic. The man checking us in looked at me and said your father came to see if you had arrived. (My friends white father) I looked back at my friend with a smirk look on my face. I let him think I was her. He told us that WiFi was only available in front of the stage in front of the office. I thought ok they have tables out there I will suck it up and work there. This is about a 3 min walk from the cabin so no big deal. The next day we called her dad down to shower prior to his doctors appointment due to his well collapsing. He brought his dog. The proceeds to see that this place wasn’t as nice as when his old buddy ran it, his buddy left it to his niece. The nieces husband wasn’t very responsive and gave him a hard time for the dog that wasn’t staying with us. They did bring a pot and some towels. That night I walked to the stage where there is WiFi and could not log in, I got a modem error message, at this point it’s too late to ask for help the office is closed. I am concerned about a dead line so I tell my friend we will have to stay elsewhere. She agrees because she is missing out on work as well. We check out the next day explaining why and she try’s to charge us a cancel fee for the last night. My friend tells her she thinks that’s not fair. The women then says that she never said it was in the cabin. This is when I piped in stating that it should say that online and that’s false advertising! We drove 16.5 hours under the assumption we would have WiFi in our cabin. I shouldn’t have had to say that!!!!! It made me very angry and my friend handled it far better then I would have. I will never go back! Nor recommend this place. I would have had she never started with the fee. Ridiculous!!!! Tried to give them a chance but they are rude.

We apologize for any miscommunication on our part regarding our WiFi, and thank you for bringing to our attention your assumption that stating we have WiFi available implies that it reaches the cabins and campground as it currently does not. We arrived at the resort to camp on 9-9-2020 and stayed for 10 nights. We were surprised at check-in when Dan, nephew-in-law to Ron, checked us in and told us we owed another $171 on top of the $710 we had already paid in advance. He said he could not honor the fall discount or the 3 plus day discount because they were so busy and had not been able to reduce their staff. We paid the extra money.(big mistake on our part). More on that later. The campground was so-so. Very small sites, unlevel and very dusty. Bathrooms were outdated and you were asked to mop up the floor afterwards? Wi-fi very weak. I will say, the lake was beautiful and the beach very nice. The night before we left, we were visiting with our neighbors and they said Dan had tried to charge them more and they had just refused to pay it. I went to Dan and told him I thought we deserved a refund of the $171 because of what the other people were paying and I was told, I appreciate your honesty. That's it. A reached out to them after we were home again asking for a refund and got no reply.

This campground sits on a beautiful small mountain lake. The water is so clear and the setting peaceful. We stayed six nights and the hosts Dan and Lindsey were the best. They pour everything into this resort and it shows. We went into glacier but always wanted to get back to lake five to enjoy sunset paddle boarding or kayaking. Even in a full campground, it was quiet and peaceful by 9pm and didn’t start to wake up until 9am. Also, we were treated to wonderful live music at the camp stage two nights we were there. The talented hosts blessed us with their voices. It sits just 2mikes from the entrance at West Glacier. We even rode our bikes into the village. Thanks for a great family vacation Lake Five!
