Just love this area around Glacier Nat Park . Everything in general about Glacier is totally awesome. From the "Going to the Sun" highway to hiking up to "Avalanche Lake". Book places to stay early because it does get pretty crowed.

We stayed in September near the end of the season. You pay for location but I would rather drive a distance than ever stay at this property again. Dirty rooms, maids "cleaned" some days not others but the totally lack of customer service was the real problem. One night the "staff" and friends had a very loud party in the room directly above us that kept us awake until 3 am. When I contacted to complain the "staff" laughed and hung up on me. If I could give zero or negative rating I would.

I think the sign out front says "Glacier Highland Motel" but perhaps during their PEAK Summer Season they switch it to "Resort"? I must say, tho, that the latter is misleading! Although they do have a small gas station, restaurant, & gift shop on the premises, I'd think keeping the name as a "Motel" would lower expectations so folks don't leave in grave disappointment! My friends' rooms were all up the hill in a long motel. Their favorite part was catching up with News on the TV after 8 days inside GNP without any! We also enjoyed watching the sun set from the upper patio-deck set up with relaxing chairs and a nice mountain view behind the old "Belton" Train Depot. My room however was a single Queen bed right next to the office, and WOW - was that hallway ever LOUD with other renter's voices late into the night! NO "soundproofing" of those rooms whatsoever. I had to roll a towel up & shove it under the door, put the fan on HIGH near my head & sleep with earplugs to mask all the people noise. If I ever stay here again, I'll ask to be located in another building. The LOWER of the 2 long motels on the hill looked to be a bit more "high end." However, it appeared that they'd wanted it closed for the Season (maybe doing their End-of-Season cleaning of it, I think?). We DID enjoy the convenient location (close to the train, the tiny "town" of West Glacier, and its own restaurant was nice. Just glad the rooms were clean & sufficient for our group's last night in the area!

4 night stay recently while visiting Glacier National Park. The upside: we were comfortable and slept well, and it was quiet, even having the train station across the street did not bother us. The shower was fine. We were there to explore the Park and it was very, very close (appr. 2 miles) so location gets a big plus. We were so tired once we got back to the room that we only wanted to be fed, get clean and sleep, in that order. The restaurant associated with the motel was wonderful! Every meal we had there was terrific and I was pleasantly surprised at the menu as it had something for just about every taste. And oh, the pie!!! We ended up eating most of our meals there. There’s also a convenience/grocery/gift shop/ gas station attached to the restaurant that came in very handy. The staff were friendly. Many were international students, a very common finding in the western National Parks. They were all courteous and as helpful as possible. The town of West Glacier did not have the “carnival” atmosphere that we experienced in West Yellowstone and we enjoyed the more laid back feeling. This is really a hiker/backpackers paradise and not as many young children around, not that I am against them haha. Downside: housekeeping a bit questionable, had a lightbulb out and my husband unscrewed it from the fixture and left it laying on the bed, but they didn’t get the hint, made the bed up and placed the bulb back on top. Next day left a note and bulb was replaced. Room smallish but I pretty much expected as much. The WiFi is practically non-existent as well as the TV offerings, however I think that’s just typical of the area. There was no phone in the room which on top of the nearly non-existent cell service made you feel kind of isolated, but this can be nice if you’re wanting to get away from it all. Overall we would stay there again! If you need rocking WiFi and 200 channels, forget it, but for good basic accommodations to enjoy Glacier National Park, this motel is fine.

The entire family was on vacation and we rented 5 separate rooms several months in advance. When asking questions about the hotel at the front desk the clerk said they didn't understand English very well because they were from a different country so didn't understand the question. 1. No air conditioning in any room 96. degrees outside 2. No coffee maker or microwave in any room 3. No ice, you have to go to the gas. station for it. 4. No small refrigerator in half the rooms. 5. No toilet paper holder in half the rooms the roll sat on the back of the toilet lid. 6. The extra pillow had a fresh blood stain on it and it showed through the pillow case. The list is longer. This was a great disappointment for $145 a night. We would not recommend this place to anyone.
