I stayed in the terrace suite for pride weekend and had an amazing stay! The hotel is beautiful, and an easy subway ride (2 minute walk from the hotel to the subway) into manhattan. The area in Brooklyn is great too with lots of food spots. All the staff at the hotel were so nice and accommodating, even going to the back to get me a sandwhich after I slept through the continental breakfast! The only thing is the wifi kept disconnecting but I might have done something wrong with that. Definitely recommend for your stay in NY!
The hotel was fine, but just adequate. The staff at the front desk were at best abrupt, almost rude. Signage is poor. The lobby is uncomfortable. The location is good. The room was clean. Housekeeping was excellent. The bathroom mirror light did not work and the outside of the windows were so dirty it was hard to see out. Security was lax late at night and the line to get coffee was ridiculously long. Seating in the restaurant was uncomfortable.
Everything about the stay was perfect. Immaculate suite with a beautiful view and friendly and attentive employees – a fantastic experience! The staff really make this hotel stand out. Everyone I encountered was wonderful.
The primary problem with our stay was that our room was the lack of housekeeping services for two of the four nights we stayed here. The first time this happened, we were put all day and returned - no housekeeping. We asked at the front desk and letter that night, we had fresh towels and emptied trash! The next day the room. Was attended to appropriately. The third night, we were out for the day and came back and again, our room had been neglected by housekeeping. I again asked the front desk and requested housekeeping. We Reurned after 10 pm and still no housekeeping service. I called the front desk and was informed that housekeeping was gone for the day (I did not expect them At this point). Extremely disappointed at the service in this overpriced hotel. If you don’t want to have go out of your way to get fresh towels and your waste baskets emptied, I would suggest taking the $250-$350 a night elsewhere.…
Sadly, the TV remote in the room missing, no complimentary drinking water, and the coffee maker cup holder missing therefore unable to make coffee. They must improve and check and ensure that everything that is in the room is provided.
I spent 7 days at this Marriott for my son's wedding. Every member of their staff was friendly and helpful. This was the hotel for our out-of-town wedding guests. They handled our gift bag distribution and some other special arrangements for our guests flawlessly. We had a brunch at the hotel the day after the wedding. The food and service was great. The staff was very attentive to our guests' needs. I think they may have the largest standard rooms in NYC. It was so nice to actually have plenty of breathing space rather than the typical tiny, cramped rooms that are too common in the City. The doorman Nick is a cab magician as well as entertaining.
The Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge was perfect for the family and visitors for my nephew's wedding this weekend. My husband and I arrived around 11:30pm on Friday night--- after traveling to NYC. We were greeted by Shannon at the check in desk. Shannon was so polite and very helpful from the first minute we arrived. Later we had to call down for a bath seat--- and it was immediately delivered to our room. I had another reason to go down to the front desk--- and there was Shannon--- again, being so kind and helpful with the line of people who were still arriving after midnight. Shannon was awesome! The overall experience at this Marriott was definitely positive. The bellman was very helpful in calling for a cab for us. He was also very friendly and caring. Nice job!
I travel to Brooklyn frequently for business, and this used to be my first choice hotel, but after my last visits this property is off my list. The location is the best part of the hotel -- near transportation, lots of food choices, and convenient shops -- and of course that part hasn't changed. What felt different on these last 2 visits is that the rooms and the common areas feel very rundown and not at Marriott level. On my most recent visit, the bathroom had peeling paint, a door that was cracking and coming apart, and major chips and cracks in the sink. The restaurant now has literally one entree (a burger) with no room service. I was also disappointed by the staff at the front desk. They just seemed so bored and unhappy. I imagine it can be stressful, but even for simple questions they seemed so inconvenienced and disinterested in helping. I will say though that the bar staff and the housekeeping staff I interacted with were all very friendly and helpful. I'll add that I used to recommend this hotel to people all the time, but after I mentioned it to a colleague a couple of months ago he was shocked that I liked it. This was before my most recent visits, and now I understand his surprise.…
I had intended to spend the Christmas weekend here with my sister. We cancelled due to a spike in cases in NYC, and could not have been more pleased with our 3 day holiday! The staff made it so. Everyone we encountered had been at the hotel for over a decade, and they remembered us and welcomed us throughout our stay. True hospitality professionals. Genuinely warm care and service. Wow views! Meticulously clean, and thorough concern backed up with extensive practices in place safeguarding health.
I am generally not the person to post reviews. But this hotel deserves my rant: this morning I was treated like a criminal for sitting in the wrong room at the Marriott M-lounge during breakfast. Trying to wrap up an important zoom call, a hotel security guard interupted me mid sentence and wanted to escort me out of the room. I used to spent close to a 100 nights in Marriott properties. It is clearly time to switch to Hilton. If you want to have a business friendly stay in Brooklyn, do not stay at this hotel. It is worth than Rikers!
