Checked in on Thursday 01/26/2023. Used cash since my sister and I was splitting the room. The pictures are deceiving the hotel is run down. We went to our room preparing for the evening only to deal with no hot water. We turned the heat up, while getting dressed it never heated the room. We told the guy at the front desk as we processed to leave. He told us everything would be fixed when we got back. The next morning at 4:50 some lady was in the hallway yelling about issues with her room. Mind you I couldn’t use the phone in the room to call the front desk because it was broke. We went downstairs to just ask for our money back. The clerk went on and on about she can’t give a refund it has to be a manager. 8:00 comes still no manager, 10 still no manager, he’s not responding to his works via phone or text. We told the they had 1 hr to give us our money back or the police would be involved. By 3:00 we got a full refund. It shouldn’t of taken that long we missed out on half a day of activities because of the poor management of this hotel. If you like cold showers, rooms with no heat, paper thin walls and the smell of weed. This one’s for you!

After working in the travel industry for 28 years this is the worst property I have stayed in. The reception is incased in a an almost bullet like shell way more than a COVID protection. There is no bar there is no lounge, there in no wi-fi, there is no streaming television in the room. We were awoken at 1 pm by hotel staff in reception shouting between, reception (due to screen) the house keeping staff watching TV at max volume on his phone and the security. I asked to change rooms but was told - NO ! Asked for my money back was told NO! Got a late check out by 1 hour but on the dot they knocked on the door, despite the issues the night before we got not reprieve. We said we would be out in 5 mins. Next thing we knew security and management were at our door threatening us. I asked for management name was told it wasn't going to happen! Bathroom mirror broken and tap, I have asked STUBA and partners to remove form sale. I have asked STUBA and partners to remove from future sales. Please don't stay here be warned. Darren

The room was quite nice in layout (although the view was over an alley). But it was on the ground floor off a communal area so you could hear chatting from outside. Mercifully the communal area was not serving drinks or food (not sure if that's ever on offer). The blackout curtains were great, you could not hear road noise. There's a Nespresso machine, a microwave and a fridge. The reception area is right off a busy thoroughfare and the pavement if rife with dog poop and graffiti. Only one person is at the desk, though at night there's also a security guard. The service was friendly but We had to stay when plans changed at the last minute and the location was close to the subway and our family member. It is probably a decent value money place for NYC but is not a five star hotel. Thus the disparity in ratings.

After reading the reviews on the hotel booking sites decided to book. Then to my horror checked the reviews on TripAdvisor only to find poor review after poor review and was unable to unbook as paid up front. Glad I didn't. Very enjoyable stay

This hotel is horrible. The door latch lock on my room had been roomed, so I had no way to completely secure the room when I was in it (the only other lack was the one associated with the keypad that staff can access). There was fighting in the street at midnight and a loud, intimate party from 1:30-4am. I would give it a zero if I could.

My wife and I spent a weekend at this hotel in September 2022. Our room reeked of stale weed and cigarettes. There were unknown stains on carpeting, furniture, and curtains and sticky, dirty laminate floors. The bathroom sink had a broken, non-functional hot water faucet. Large black garbage bags lined the hallway. The elevator was janky; the lobby smelled overpoweringly of industrial cleaning solvents (presumably to cover up more weed/cigarette odors... or worse.) I immediately requested to speak with the manager, and was told there are no managers on-site during the weekend, and that no manager could be reached by phone, which is a huge red flag for a hotel—the highest-traffic days of the week are going to be Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Seems pretty important to have a manager around! On Saturday morning at about 1am, we were returning from a late dinner and drinks with friends and found that the guest across the hall was hosting a room party in direct contradiction with the hotel's own posted policies. We know this because the guy who rode the elevator with us from the lobby told us (he wasn't staying there), only to get turned away at the door of the party. While that is objectively hilarious, this stay was anything but. The front desk attendant did eventually move us to a slightly less terrible room for Saturday night (fewer stains, didn't smell as bad, etc.) but refused to process a refund or put me in touch with the manager on Sunday. Ridiculous, disrespectful, and a huge waste of money and time. I've filed complaints with New York City's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) and the Hotel Association of New York City (HANYC), and am disputing the charge through my credit card company. In the meantime, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Stay away.

(TLDR desk clerk provided us a king room we booked with a broken bathroom door and were very reluctant, rude, and unhelpful in resolving the issue. I have never felt more obligated in my life to leave a review until now.) I booked this hotel through Chase thinking that it was a great option as many reviews were saying it was good or at the very least okay to stay in. We first got a really good impression by the hotel allowing us to store our luggage as we were checking out from airbnb and had nowhere to store them (that or roam around nyc with two big carry ons). However, when we checked in later that day it was the complete opposite experience. The front desk didn’t feel very welcoming to begin with (okay sure whatever). We were then given a king sized room that we had booked through chase and found out that the bathroom door was completely broken and couldn’t close the door one bit. My friend wanted to use the bathroom but was uncomfortable with no privacy (as was I) so we asked the front desk if there were any other available rooms to switch over to. They said that the bathroom doors are currently under repair & getting fixed and that the hotel was fully booked that night. I felt awkward that nothing was being done by the front desk about this issue and I said okay and back to our room. We were NOT informed of the bathroom door condition before checking in. Seeing as how we weren’t informed of being provided a king size bedroom with a broken bathroom door. I called Chase to see what our options were and to resolve this issue (because the hotel desk clerk did not do anything about it). Chase was very good at being the middleman and contacted the hotel. The hotel lady desk clerk came up to our room and we told of our situation with the broken bathroom. We then got a scoff “what’s wrong” and that baffled us that we had to explain that the door was visibly broken and there was no privacy in the bathroom. She went back and talked on the phone some more (to the chase travel agency line I assume) and a few minutes after came to our room and provided us with another room (Great! Finally!!). She said to check the room and we did which was to our satisfaction, however; this room that we were provided with was a full sized bed. We asked the lady desk clerk if it was possible to get compensated for the appropriate size room as I was charged with king size and she gave us a very reluctant look and said “I’ve already done too much for you.” To our disbelief, we were given the option if either canceling and keeping the full size bed room for the price of king that I had originally booked with. Note that we felt the lady desk clerk was impatient and rude to us for asking minimum working room and compensated for a smaller booked room. We were getting overall bad vibes and no longer wanted to stay at the hotel. We asked if we did cancel and if there would be any refund and they said no. We tried calling Chase again to resolve the issue but had no luck. We reaaaally did try to like it with as much professionalism as we can. We gave it a chance but the clerk really blew it. Non apologetic whatsoever. She only considered helping with our issue when Chase had called them. In the end, we left the hotel for the best western plus just across the street (WELL WORTH SPENDING THAT EXTRA AMOUNT THAN THIS HOTEL. IT WAS NIGHT AND DAY IN SERVICE AND LIVING SPACE). Never again, and it’s taught us a valuable lesson of deep diving into the reviews further through "most recent" rather than as a whole “4/5 stars”

Good size rooms for the price. Everything was standard with just a few quirks; Firstly, I'm not sure why the cleaning staff is yelling. It's been about 20 minutes. Please stop yelling. Thank you My room didn't have a window, so no natural light. There was a skylight with a permanently closed blackout curtain. All room doors and hallway doors are steal and don't soft close making them extremely loud inside the rooms. Any nearby door that closed while I was sleeping was loud enough inside my room to wake me.

Let me start by saying this is the worst hotel I've stayed in since coming to New York. My husband and I had an emergency visit to NY and looked for a reasonable priced, well appointed hotel. I saw this hotel worked in my budget and judging by the photos based on the website it appeared to be just what I was looking for. It appeared to a beautifully decorated modern hotel. ****Don't be fooled by the pictures on their website*** The customer service sucked...This one clerk when we checked in was sitting down talking on the phone and I had to keep saying "hello" to get his attention. The clerks are encased behind a plexiglass enclosure like the ones at the service stations for protection and I'm not talking about covid protection. The location where the hotel was situated was very seedy. The other clerks we encountered were no better, they were always talking and not paying attention to customers presence when walking up. At one point I had to keep knocking on the glass to get one of the clerks attention. It was a mess. Let's talk about the room. I will insert pictures to give you and idea. It was nothing like the pictures want you to believe. Uncomfortable beds and pillows. Cheap sheets and towels and speaking of towels, I'm not sure they washed them. I had to keep requesting new towels due to the amount of hair I would find on "clean" towels. We would make request for towels and they would take their time getting them to us. One day we went to the front desk 3 times to follow up on our request. Do not expect your room to be clean even when you request it. We had to stay in a trashed filled room and towels strewn everywhere because we did not have daily housekeeping not even to at least to pick up towels and take the trash. They had us sign a waiver regarding noise and not to play loud music etc...Well I guess the other guest didn't care because I was awakened by loud music, loud talking and a couple having sex. The walls were just that thin...One night while in the room (we were on the first floor near the front desk). I could hear this guy arguing loudly and very irate with the clerks. Not sure what was going on but I was scared because it sounded like it was going to get bad. It was a lot more but I can't type everything. I will have the pictures speak for themselves. I would not ever stay at this hotel nor recommend my enemies here...LOL!!

I wish that i could give negative stars. This is by far one of the dirtiest hotels, with the most unprofessional staff that I've ever encountered. The hotel is FLITHY from the lobby to the rooms. The elevator smelled of piss. Room 205 is from hell!!! The shower door was broken, the water ran all night in the sink because the facet was broken. The rainfall shower head was stuck in the one position because the knob for the hand held was broken off. And the lock on the door was broken and couldn't be bolted shut. And that's not the bad part. I laid down after a long day in the city and a bug crawled past my face. I hopped up and pulled the sheets back. There were many more. I was HORRIFIED!!! Never in my life have I seen bed bugs. I packed my things and went downstairs only to have the clerk look at me in disbelief. I demanded my money back, only to be told that she doesn't have the authority to reverse charges and the best she could do was move me to another room. Mind you, this was around 2 AM. She claimed the only room left available was in the basement *which smelled of piss, fish, dirty wet towels and mold. The 2nd room had mold around the caulking, the was actual piss stains on the towel seat and stains on the sheet. I sat in the desk chair for the remainder! The lady at the front kept knocking on the door asking me random questions. At checkout the new dayshift clerk said she was made aware of my issues but again couldn't reverse my charges. She looked completely unconcerned as I aired my grievances. She told me the manager would contact me for a refund. That was over a week ago. I've called several times only to be told the manager isn't in but is aware. I haven't heard a word. I will be filing fraud charges with my bank. Avoid this nasty ass place at all costs!!! The website won't allow me to upload the bedbugs video that I took.
