    Fabulous Hotel!
My family and I temporarily relocated to Brooklyn to help during the COVID 19 crisis. The staff have been more than amazing! John and Joey have been so helpful during our stay. We haven’t met an employee that hasn’t been great to us. Everyone is always willing to help. The rooms are so spacious and housekeeping does a fabulous job keeping this hotel clean. The breakfast is always perfectly set up and it’s so nice to grab a bite and a cup of fresh coffee in the morning. This hotel also has a great location! I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again!

    Best Birthday Imaginable!
My best friend wanted to plan a birthday getaway to NYC for my birthday and began looking at hotels. Ultimately, she chose the Brooklyn because it was cheaper than the other options and was very up our alley with beautiful decor. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the scent of essential oils as well as Eli who was at the front desk. We LOVED the essential oil diffusers and the decor did not disappoint. Eli was so wonderful, he always had a smile on his face and even gave us a hug as we were waiting on the curb the next morning for an Uber. His cheery demeanor and hospitality really made our stay so much better. The room was unbelievable and we were jumping up and down at how much we loved it!! Beds were comfortable, lots of room and We loved the big windows especially because they open and we were able to get some fresh air. Later that night after coming home from a concert, we were looking for ice and Jonathan was at the front desk and able to help us. He was so sweet and made amazing conversation with us and kept us entertained even at midnight. We didn’t get to try the free breakfast because we decided to sleep in late on my birthday but I’m sure it was great. We were greeted by the manager the next morning, John, and he was so sweet and accommodating. I demanded to take a survey and I told him to give me the names of every single person that was on shift since we arrived because I wouldn’t feel right not recognizing them for their amazing hospitality. Even as we were leaving and had already checked out, Mark at the front desk was giving us amazing recommendations for our next stay for cake and steak. I will only be staying at the Brooklyn for future trips to New York city and the surrounding area. Thank you all so much for making our trip truly wonderful and we will be back to see all of you very soon!

    Great Service, convenient location
You only need to walk a block or two in almost any direction to be strolling down a brownstone lined street. The hotel itself is modern and has all of the high end appointments of a luxury hotel. The service was friendly and professional. The location on Atlantic Ave puts you close to Barkley Ctr, the Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park, and a quick few stops to lower Manhattan. Many great restaurants nearby in Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and BedStuy. Will definitely stay again.

Still trying to get my refund from this dirty hotel almost 1 month later. I booked through the Hopper app. Both the hotel and Hopper app are ignoring me. The photos do not match the hotel. I had injured my foot and would not be able to stay in a place where the hotel elevator was problematic. Other reviews are also proving my point. It’s another ableist establishment that does not provide assistance to customer service to those that need it. Don’t come here, especially if you’re physically impaired. We had to book an Airbnb last minute, costing my trip even more.

Quite possibly the worst customer service ive ever experienced from a business. The management team which is only there on Monday and Tuesday just refuse to contact people regarding issues with the stay. Make one feel sorry for the front of house staff who have to deal with customers but can’t actually do anything to facilitate fixing a problem.

Slightly sketchy area but don’t let that put you off as is Brooklyn’s character. Hotel itself is excellent with big comfy beds and a separate living room with a loft apartment vibe. Reception very accommodating and friendly - recommend

We had a great stay at The Brooklyn and loved the historic neighborhood and Prospect park. We were almost scared off by some terrible reviews but to our relief found them to be mostly over exaggerated in our experience. No weird smells, partying, broken stuff or safety issues in our 5 day stay and the place was as clean as any other hotels I've stayed in all over Canada and Europe. The main drag off the subway is a typical busy NYC neighborhood street with a mix of people and quality of stores. I felt safe the whole time. Get off the main drag to find gorgeous brownstone architecture, cool restaurants and shops and learn about the rich African American history of Bed Stuy. It's experiencing some gentrification so it's a cultural mix. Anything you need like more towels or TP, just ask. The staff were friendly because we were friendly. Like a lot of budget friendly hotels, they save money by cleaning and stocking when asked instead of everyday automatically. This place has its little quirks, it's not a big chain. But my son and I had a great time here, it was clean, safe and the shower was amazing. Sounds like some of the bad reviews were written by people who were used to more luxury. Expect to pay waaay more in NYC for that. Really big room with a curtain between the bedroom area. Comfy bed, just a few pillows per bed. We weren't bothered by the sound of the train because we already live by a busy harbour so felt very at home. But bring some ear plugs if you are from a rural area. Great value and location for exploring Brooklyn and beyond. Make sure you go to David's Brisket House and try the independent coffee shops before heading downtown. There are lots of great to go restaurants and delis so get your breakfast and come back to the hotel lounge to sit and eat. Enjoy your Brooklyn adventure!

The elevator was creaky from the second we got here. And we got stuck for ten minutes in it. It was very scary. We called the emergency number and then got cut off and called again and finally it moved. They did nothing about it after we told them. Did not shut it down. The whole place smells like bug spray. Overpriced for what it is. Not to mention dangerous and they don't care about your safety.

Do not stay at this Hotel under any circumstances. Here is the letter I wrote to the "Manager" (who by the way is virtually never on premises). In a word, this place is gross! My wife was an unfortunate guest at your hotel for a week. Disappointment cannot even begin to tell you how the experience went. My wife arrived late on the first evening to find her room completely smelling of smoke (in a non-smoking hotel!! no less), and when she pulled back the covers on the bed, the sheets were ripped. How someone could leave a room smelling that disgusting or make a bed with ripped sheets and walk away thinking that that is acceptable is unimaginable. She continued to have miserable experiences with lack of cleanliness and poor quality even after a room change. Several nights there were loud parties going to wee hours of the morning and your management did nothing. Perhaps the violator‘s deposits were taken away, but they did nothing for the disturbance that it caused many guests, including my wife. The pictures of your website are also at least five years out of date, and completely mislead the traveler. Illegal bait and switch business practices for sure. Because of the first evening of ripped sheets and a disgusting room, that charge needs to be credited back to my credit card. Inexcusable and unacceptable and certainly not worthy of any payment at all. We also expect to be reimbursed for the nights of all night noise and no sleep. If you’re going to continue being in the hotel business, you need to start figuring out a way to actually serve customers instead of just taking their money and giving them an empty, miserable experience.

Location not troubling, the room very cute, the lack of concern for their cleanliness horrible!! They refused to compensate me for their short comings. Dust in the vents my wife cleaned herself, no bed protector, on the bed, dirty towels, they’re clearly do not use the black light system! I’m a top tier former housekeeper, rooms inspector and now housekeeping supervisor. They need so much training.

Checked in on Thursday 01/26/2023. Used cash since my sister and I was splitting the room. The pictures are deceiving the hotel is run down. We went to our room preparing for the evening only to deal with no hot water. We turned the heat up, while getting dressed it never heated the room. We told the guy at the front desk as we processed to leave. He told us everything would be fixed when we got back. The next morning at 4:50 some lady was in the hallway yelling about issues with her room. Mind you I couldn’t use the phone in the room to call the front desk because it was broke. We went downstairs to just ask for our money back. The clerk went on and on about she can’t give a refund it has to be a manager. 8:00 comes still no manager, 10 still no manager, he’s not responding to his works via phone or text. We told the they had 1 hr to give us our money back or the police would be involved. By 3:00 we got a full refund. It shouldn’t of taken that long we missed out on half a day of activities because of the poor management of this hotel. If you like cold showers, rooms with no heat, paper thin walls and the smell of weed. This one’s for you!
