The Tillary Hotel Brooklyn, located Downtown Brooklyn which is minutes away from the Brooklyn Bridge, DUMBO and Barclays Center, The Tillary’s 174 guest rooms and suites in addition to its well-appointed public areas were designed by Brooklyn-based Cl-oth Interiors who fused mid-century modern and art-deco cues with a modern and industrial aesthetic by incorporating elements such as end-grain wood tile flooring and polished concrete with jewel-toned plush furniture and gilded geometric motifs

The rooms are very stylish and clean. It was also very quiet for NYC. Many good places to eat and drink within walking distance plus there is a bar on the second floor with a patio so you can get a drink and a bite to eat without leaving the building. The only drawback is that it's a bit of a walk from the subway when hauling luggage but still very doable.

Great location and cool vibe, when you walk-in the aesthetic is like an old Jazz club and there is bar next to the check and a nice coffee tea area. Over all a nice place for NYC, and it's very close to the Brooklyn bridge.

Marginal at BEST Cold shower Dirty room. Not as clean as expected especially with COVID still being an issue. Dust and flying bugs around. Stayed for nephews wedding and was very disappointed. We were so excited when we booked but were not excited when we checked in

Not too impressed with The Tillary. It was a long line to check in with one person behind reception desk. Rooms are in need of fixing up. Furniture had chips in it, walls needed painting or maybe a good cleaning. We had fingerprints on the wall, pretty gross I know. No closet space and getting up to go downstairs for coffee is a big disappointment if you are an early riser. Doesn’t open until 7. No parking garage either, you have to go by The Hampton Inn to park. Lobby can use an upgrade as well.

The inexplicably have rooms right next to their outdoor nightclub. It’s pretty tough to sleep with music blasting next to your room all night. Additionally, the staff is unpleasant and the hotel overall has a really negative vibe. Stay elsewhere.

Not the best place to stay unless you like the loud and rowdy crowds that come there to party even on a Sunday night. Apparently there is a club/lounge that clearly brings in a party crowd on a Sunday night!

Do yourself a favor and read the reviews before checking in here. Parties going on until early morning hours, so it's impossible to get sleep. Staff is very rude and doesn't care about any of it. All the other reviews are correct about the rooms being poor, the walls paper thin, service at the check-in being super slow, and just overall are really bad experience.

They have started hosting “club events” here at the Concrete Jungle which used to be a nice place to grab a snack and cocktail before heading up to your room for the evening. I am not understanding or appreciating the logic of hosting late night parties in the same building that guests are reserving for a quiet night of sleep. The process just to check in to my room has taken up to 30 mins. I used to love this place.

Truly a poor experience. In summary, do not stay here. If you are worried about COVID at all, very few people in the hotel, including staff, were wearing masks, and staff did not ask anyone to wear masks. Structural issues-- The lobby is a mess. There's only ever one person at the front, and they're clearly untrained. The Hotel loads their bar and kitchen through the front door using one of two elevators, which leads to long waits. No one in the lobby or the elevators, including the staff, is COVID-complaint. The lobby is also packed with seating space, which doesnt leave any space for the people with carts (guests, loaders) to maneuver into the elevator. The room was clearly designed by a slumlord and/or an idiot. The front door to your room will not have an effective deadbolt. The bathroom mirror is actually not mounted to a wall, but rather slides to reveal the rest of the room--if you are staying with anyone else, be ready to be uncomfortably intimate, as the lack of wall means there is no soundproofing at all between bathroom and bed. The shower also doesn't have a door, just an open space, so you're going to get the floor soaking wet. As others have noted, the walls are paper thin--we heard other guests talking in their rooms at normal volume. Our room also overlooked the bar, which we did not request, and which blasts music until past 1:00AM--if you have children or if you would like to get a good sleep, this likely isn't the place for you, as you will not know whether you have this type of room until the day of, and will not be able to get anyone to change it. We had floor-to-ceiling windows, which would be nice a bit higher up, but on the 4th floor, it's just a very awkward view into a patio where people are drinking/eating (and, of course, they have a great view back into your room). The cleaning people did not put a fitted sheet on our bed (they just used a regular sheet) and our room had only one water glass. Our room was also covered in very strange damage--paint chipping, small dents in the walls and ceilings, etc. Design issues-- Slightly more subjective, but many of the design choices are poor. The lobby has a very odd tile design which mimics a tree stump, which is strange, but it also makes the whole lobby look dirty and damaged. Tiles in the bathroom floor also look damaged, although they are not. The bathroom door opens the opposite way you would expect, and of course, again, the bathroom mirror slides to the side to reveal the bedroom, which is an astonishingly stupid design. The room also has upwards of four separate lamps, but no overhead lighting in the bedroom--this means you'll have to do a full lap and figure out where each lamp's on/off switch is, which is pretty annoying. This was billed as a luxury stay, but you can find a much better experience in the immediate vicinity for similar prices, and you'll actually be able to sleep. I left out some of the smaller issues with the room as well, including the fact that the faucet was installed upside down (so the direction labeled cold is actually hot), but there was very little that was actually up to the bare minimum. It's impressive how many issues they crammed into 250 sq. ft. I can't recommend this to a single demographic. Families and business people will not be able to sleep. People coming to party can find cheaper accommodations with better service and nightlife. Tourists will find better, more comfortable options for similar or cheaper prices. Genuinely bad.
