The front desk staff is so friendly pleasant and extremely helpful. We checked in very late after a concert and couldn't find parking and a staff member met us outside to help us look! Very comfortable rooms and on a quiet side of town. The rooms just felt so homey. On the websites the pictures don't do it justice because I kept scrolling past until my boyfriend told me to look at it. I would definitely recommend and hopefully would be staying there again sometime in the future!
We absolutely love this hotel. The decor and style was really great and the rooms are spacious and well thought out. We love the fact that the bathroom had a medicine cabinet for placing things, two separate closets in the bedroom area, another closet and spacious sitting room as well as a mini fridge and coffee station. It was clean and the staff very professional and the continental breakfast was not your average store-bought muffin. There was a wide variety of very delicious muffins and scones and the coffee was good. This will definitely be our go to hotel when we return. We also love that we could park out front and Uber to our sons home very easily and efficiently. Stress-free! Thank you to the Henry Norman staff.
The building itself had a beautiful industrial aesthetic with warm finishing touches. The room was a good size and very clean, with everything we needed. Staff were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable (Issaiah in particular was brilliant!). It was around a 10 minute walk to the subway and less to grab a coffee and brunch. I would definitely return here and recommend to family and friends. The only thing that was remotely negative for me was that I am a light sleeper and there seemed to be a few heavy vehicles passing our window throughout the night and day. I wore earplugs and slept well. This is more of an advisory for other light sleepers - I would still recommend you stay, just make sure you have earplugs with you :)
Really upset … I called this morning, We checked out yesterday 10/23 regarding some clothes I left behind (so not even 24 hours later) the girl was cold and uncaring she said she checked and no one from her staff turned in the clothes. I realized the clothes I left behind were left on the bottom of the bed and must have gotten covered by an extra comforter we pulled out. I forgot to grab them bc they were not in plain sight. I have no tolerance for theft. What was left was a pair of brand new expensive Free People magenta bootleg cords and a black short sleeve shirt with a white sweater on the bottom of the bed. Totally forgot about them. I noticed when I got back home a day later that the outfit was missing (I had it out on the bed at the hotel bc I thought I was going to come back and change but never did.) I called the hotel right away. $300 worth of clothes gone. The girl at the desk refused to tell me the manager’s name. I asked if the manager could call me back and she would not answer me. And still no call. She said they never had an issue with theft (as if they would admit that) yet you have to sign/initial a paper with many disclosures saying how they are not liable. We travel quite a bit and this was new to us. We did hear several people checking in question it and one even refused to sign it. I will be contacting both owners. I get my fault that I left the clothes but to steal the clothes, left behind, is awful. The owners should be aware of staff they have. Or maybe it’s a policy to take whatever is left behind? We once left a coat in a closet at another hotel and they not only had it but they mailed it back to us. For an upper scale hotel I would expect more from the staff. Be wary.…
The Henry Norman did not disappoint! Very nice quiet hotel full of unique artwork and historic architecture. Clean and well appointed rooms. Great views of the Manhattan skyline! Staff was all very friendly and helpful. We definitely will return!
My husband and I stayed at the Henry Norman Hotel last night and our experience was even more delightful than before. This hotel is our “go to” when we are visiting our kids for the weekend in Brooklyn. This hotel only gets better. The newest lovely addition is their complimentary continental breakfast served every morning. The coffee was delish and it’s such an extra nice touch that most hotels don’t offer. We also were thrilled with how spotless our room was. Housekeeping does an amazing job and I’m very picky about that! The bed was comfy and the bathroom was well lit… unlike most NYC hotels which are always so dark. The front desk young lady, Mannon was very friendly and helpful and their manager, Nigel, is always a pleasure. He seems to be the heart and soul of this warm and fabulous hotel. Highly highly recommended!!…
We spent the most wonderful four days at the Henry Norman Hotel in Greenpoint. From the moment we checked in, the front desk staff were friendly and made us feel like we'd been there before. Our room was on the third floor tucked away from the spiral staircase down the middle of the hotel. One of the first things we did was walk down the hall to the third floor balcony to look at the skyline of Manhattan. It was also a stop before returning to our room most evenings. Each morning we brought up coffee, mini muffins, sticky buns and fruit for our breakfast. The interior of the hotel is stunning, immaculately clean had many places to steal away with a book and a cup of coffee. Martin, Nigel, and Mannon were the staff and manager who we interacted the most with. They even helped us out by copying a last minute file that we needed for a meeting. We will definitely return to the Henry Norman a couple of times in the year to come. …
Arrived late from a long flight and had to be up early the next morning for work, I didn't know what to expect as everything was super last minute. Luckily the hotel is brilliant; spacious, lovely high ceilings and everything you need. The staff are also great, not knowing the area, the ever helpful Issaiah gave me a couple of great recommendations in the local area which meant I could get myself sorted and prep for work the next day. Stayed for a few more nights with a little less stress and its a perfect place to stay if you're in this part of town. Would definitely stay again and hopefully for pleasure rather than work.
The Henry Norman is amazing! This is my third stay. The location and rooms are perfect! Walking distance to everything. The common area porches have incredible views of Manhattan. The staff there is an amazing team! Everyone so helpful and friendly. They create a such welcoming environment. Shout out to Cecilia, Nigel, and Tanisha! I can’t wait to return!
I loved my room. Spacious with kitchen with pots, pans, utensils, glasses and cups. The room even has a mini dishwasher. Every member of staff that I met was personable and helpful. I’m giving Issaiah 10stars for going above and beyond!!!! I highly recommend this hotel. The view from the 3rd floor terrace is incredible!!!
