My wife & I stopped here for a total of 8 nights....4 nights before our cruise to the Bahamas & 4 nights on our return. We were visiting New York for my wife's 70th birthday. I can only endorse all the previous positive reviews. Bibi's place is ideally situated for the tube/subway to Manhatton ( about 30 minutes ). The nearest station is Avenue H for the Q train. Within walking distance, there are plenty of bars, restaurants & shops. Bibi is an excellent host.....her place is thoroughly recommended.
I absolutely loved my stay at Bibi's garden!! I visited NY for the fist time this summer and my stay at Bibi's made it that much better. The house was gorgeous and very well kept. I had the whole top floor to myself. Cable tv, full kitchen, bathroom and bedroom all to myself!! My favorite part was breakfast every morning; she would make me breakfast and we would sit and talk. She gave me some tips and a list of places to see since it was my first time there. She's such a wonderful woman and very pleasant to talk to. She also has an adorable dog named zaps, who will great you every morning and loves tummy rubs😊 I had an amazing stay and will be happy to stay there again for my next visit!!!
A real American experience. Staying in a family home. First hand advice from the owners on daily outings. Close to train and bus routes. We visited Coney Island and Little Russia. Travelled most days to Manhattan on the train, 20 minutes top. And all for a pittance compared to hotel rates. Definitely recommend Bibi's.
My 20 year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at this lovely Victorian property. Bibi made a delicious breakfast each morning and gave us helpful tips for our adventures around Brooklyn and into Manhattan..she also arranged our car ride to the airport at the end of our stay. The home is beautiful (built in 1905!), very clean, in a safe and quiet location and a short 5 min walk to the subway/train station. A welcoming respite after a day in busy Manhattan. Bibi is a lovely host and this is a great place to stay in a leafy quarter of Brooklyn with lovely old wooden houses. Good breakfasts and personal attention. I was staying on the top floor with a cameraman colleague while filming in NY and we each had a bedroom off a shared lounge. Decent facilities at a reasonable price. It's some way from Manhatten but the subway is convenient as long as you're not out too late.
Bibi's Garden is a hidden gem of a place to stay in Midwood Brooklyn NY. It is very close to the Q and B trains and has great access to Coney Island and Manhattan. Bibi prepares a nice breakfast in the morning and is a great source of information about the area.
My husband and I, along with another couple (friends of ours) stayed at Bibi's for a week. We stayed on the 3rd floor which was like having our own little apartment. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom which were clean and had everything you could ask for. We also had a kitchen and living room where we would come back and relax after our long days in Manhattan. Bibi is wonderful! Every morning we would go downstairs for breakfast which always was a great surprise - she is an excellent cook and every morning was something new (when we got back home my husband tried copying one of her egg breakfasts😀). Bibi was always ready to answer any questions we had regarding the subway (which is really close), museums, restaurants, etc., and it was a pleasure talking to her every morning before we left for the day. We would definitely stay at Bibi's again! Thank you Bibi!…
It was a lovely and cosy homestay with hot breakfast home cooked every day by Bibi herself. Our room was quiet, cosy and clean with nice shared bathroom next door. Plenty of room and a fully equipped kitchen at our disposal, nice neighbourhood as well and grocery is close next street. It was fabulous to start a Brooklyn day on the front porch in the moring sun. After a lovely breakfast, different every morning, You can easily walk to the metro, Manhattan is within 20 min. But don't forget to spend an afternoon at Coney Island Beach, 20min. in the other direction.
I made my reservations with Bibi in March for 4 people for our son's wedding weekend. She told me $120 per room, per night... cash. I had several email and phone exchanges prior to the weekend confirming my reservation and asking availability to have my mother of the groom dress delivered there and referrals for hair. Upon the first 5 minutes of arrival she said we never told her it was for a wedding. She was looking for more money on top of her cash payment. She said we never told her it was a wedding. She was nasty and confrontational. Here we were, suitcases, garment bags and expectations of a hospitable stay. WRONG. Bibi came into our rooms when we were out. She came into our rooms while we were resting. She turned off our air conditioner. The kitchen was stocked with utensils and cups for 1. There were disposable utencils from her most recent trip through a fast food drive through. Toilet paper was also rationed. We made the conscious decision not to have her ruin the weekend of our son's wedding, but it took some heroic effort. If hospitality, privacy, and ethics are not a priority when traveling away from home, I could not recommend Bibi's Garden more whole heartedly!…
I grew up a few blocks from BiBis. I know bklyn and nyc quite well. Accomodations very comfy. NOT sterile like a hotel. Bibi and her daughter are great hosts. You want to hang out and spend time talking to them very nice. You want to be left alone they respect that too. My wife and i are somewhere in the middle. Super clean. I have stayed in Ritz Carltons not as spotless. And it is NOT the Ritz Carlton which makes the cleanliness even more impressive. They truly care about what they do. It is a super nice older home. Seems to be a heavy European clientele which allowed for some nice interaction. Living in Bexley, Ohio now which is next to Columbus if you need a visual idea of area and are from here think Clintonville or Bexley. Upscale urban oasis is how i describe Midwood where Bibis is. Tons of trees. Nice older homes. Yet urban. Rooms quite spacious. Full kitchen on each floor. We hope to come here again and soon. …
