Overall great price for the room and fantastic location. Close to the subway and cute shops and restaurants. There were a few strange guests hanging around. The bathrooms are like hostels shared amongst many rooms. Female bathrooms were pretty good, men's bathrooms were ok. Staff were really lovely! :)

For anyone visiting Brooklyn or NY and needing a place to stay, I totally recommend GreenPoint YMCA. It's located in a Famiky-friendly environment, affordably half the price of a hotel, and great, friendly service. It's located right across the street from the precinct and just all around great. One thing, they give you a $2 coupon for breakfast at a...

The price is ok, beds are confortable, location is good, you can find a lot of things around the place, what i dislike was the lak of privacy in the shower, just a plastic courtain and it is over, didnt like that.

I stayed in room 316, which faces the 94th precinct. The room was perfect for my needs. It was quiet and safe. I had a comfortable bed, fresh linens, an air conditioner and a closet with plenty of space and hooks. There was even a small flat screen TV. The only negatives were that there was no lamp or towel...

Had to make a trip to Williamsburg/Greenpoint with almost zero notice. All hotels near where I needed to be were $325+ per night and that was not doable for me. So I looked at Air BnB and other options. I finally decided on the Y because the price was right and it was where I needed it to be. It...

The rooms are small but tidy, bathroom is at the floor and some Flipflops are recommended. The nearby Club is cool but if your room is on that side, you might Need earplugs... YMCA is Great if you Need something for a Night or two.

Rooms are larger and rather clean. High ceilings. No desk. Gym style group showers on 3rd floor. No elevator. Across from Police station. So the view in the morning was a man in handcuff on Sunday morning accompanied by two police officers. agh. It is close to everything.

I visited New York City for the first time in *September 2014. Since I was traveling on a budget, a friend who lives in Long Island suggested I look at the Greenpoint YMCA hostel. The mattresses were lumpy and not the most comfortable, but the shared bathrooms were clean and I was able to stay at a very affordable price....

The YMCA is not bad accommodations at all if your on a budget, what more could you ask for; walking distance to the subway that takes you right back into Manhattan, the actual YMCA is across the street from the police station (safety), and your a few blocks away from Williamsburg Brooklyn, the hippest, up-and-coming area in all of NYC....

“During my first stay in this hostel I slept on third floor, and I had to get down to second floor to the bathroom, but the room was really nice and renovated. My second visit in August was on the second floor in the end of the corridor, where the bathroom was more accessible but the wifi does not working (i had to go to the internet room and connect my laptop over there... )”
