We stayed at the Akwaaba Bed & Breakfest in Brooklyn for a full week and will always treasure this experience as a very dear one. The interior of the villa has preserved its late 19th century charm with a good many original features. However, even...More

This restored 1860 mansion is a jewel in the crown in one of the best-preserved African American neighborhoods in the country.

The owners live on site, on the top floor. Their attention to guests is very professional, warm, helpful and conscientious. The breakfasts are delicious and there is plenty to eat and drink. The living room and enclosed porch area are tastefully appointed in a style that matches the building's history. There is also a computer room with a library.
The subway is quite close -- a pleasant 5-minute walk down a tree-lined street and across a small park. Then it's just 15 minutes to Manhattan's best galleries, restaurants, museums and parks. There are also many wonderful places to eat nearby in Brooklyn.
There are four guest rooms. I suggest you ask the owner, Monique Greenwood, about accommodating your group or just go ahead and reserve all four rooms if they are vacant in your desired time frame. I would not delay, since it is a popular place.
They can also take care of banquets and weddings and the like, both outdoors and indoors.
