I agree with rumticurimmt2's review ILLEGAL SCAM - I went there after having booked a night on hostelworld, and left immediately, even though I knew I would still be charged. No way it's legal. No signage. No maps. Want you to take your shoes off, wouldn't show me the room before I paid, wouldn't let my friend in, tried to... More

First of all, I must say that the reviews on trip advisor do not give justice to this place at all since it seems that only the ones that had a bad day write here. I will try to explain what people complain about (which could have easily have been prevented with more organization I bet) 1. This hostel is... More

For starters, "Adventure Hostel" in Brooklyn is no hostel at all. It is a private apartment that the owner is illegally renting out by the night. His neighbors have no idea what is going on, and there is no way New York City zoning and business laws would allow this scenario to exist. There is no sign outside indicating the... More

Me and my friend are both 22 year old female travellers, pretty unorganised so booked this is two last minute at a stupidly higher price for four nights stay. Lots of these other reviews describe the 'hostel' accurately. Do not go expecting a hostel or a hotel, if you are desperate enough to go- it is a room in a... More

This hostel, if you can call it that, is about a 30minute walk from the END of the L line. I won't say the walk (even at night) is particularly dangerous, but it is definitely not the safest nor is it scenic. Once I arrived at the hostel I asked the owner what's up with him advertising it as a... More

Foremost, the location of this place is horrid. If you don't enjoy a bit of walking through a ghetto region that smells putrid, don't come here; in fact, even if you like walking, don't come here. The subway is a good 15 minutes away, and even once you arrive, it takes 45 minutes to get to Manhattan: the epicenter of... More

I've never had experience staying in a hostel and this one was my first one. I was really excited about the way how they setup the things there. The guy David who runs the place is very very friendly and efficient with managing the household and with contacting clients. The place is located in a big scary place, but it... More

Just like title says a good value for the money. From what I know this seems to be the nicer part of Brooklyn. I however did not opt to go exploring due to being unfamiliar with the area and not knowing the exact route to the subway. The host was more than accommodating, there was however some confusion in regards... More

As many other people comment, it has a bad location. Odd place to call a hostel. It is more like a private appartment stuffed with bunkbeds leaving no space free. You are told (a bit militaryish) to leave your shoes outside and to make your bed in the morning, not having any private items left ontop. This is alright -... More

The hostel was dirty. David was disrespectful. It was loud and crowded. Cash only and far from anything.
