Stayed here with my husband for our first trip to New York. We were really impressed when we arrived, nice entrance, nice lobby, very friendly staff at reception. Our room was nice, comfy bed with a good view of manhattan. However, the negatives; the bathroom door is see through and is opposite the mirror, so if you are sitting on the bed you have full view of your partner on the loo. That was not good, they need to change that! Also, there was a lot of dust in the room on the floor, I’m not sure how thorough the cleaning staff are with the vacuum. The tea and coffee making facilities; only decaf coffee, I don’t know why they don’t provide normal coffee. The breakfast bag is rubbish, I would have preferred a pastry or muffin and a coffee. We had a look at the breakfast options in the lobby but only used it once as it was really expensive, instead we used the Starbucks round the corner. We also found the lobby area was often very full during the day with people working on laptops. I don’t think they are all guests at the hotel, but locals using it to work. They sit there all day, a single person taking up a whole sofa each. I think the hotel should look at this as there were times when every seating area was occupied by one person and no where for hotel guests to relax. We used the hotel restaurant once, it was a rainy evening so we decided to give it a try. The food was not great and very overpriced. There isn’t a great selection to choose from either. We used the rooftop terrace a few times for a drink. Drinks are very expensive but the view of manhattan is fantastic up there. The hotel is located near to plenty of good bars and restaurants, our favourite was Teddy’s bar, good prices and really good food. We also liked Extra Fancy for food and drinks. The hotel is a short walk to the ferry that takes you to Brooklyn bridge or near Wall Street for a few dollars. The general area of Williamsburg is nice to walk around. Overall we liked the hotel, but the bathroom, restaurant and overused lobby let it down a bit so I probably wouldn’t stay again.

We've chosen to stay at The Hoxton Williamsburg on both of our visits to NYC - one in 2018 and one this month. We chose it a second time specifically because we enjoyed it so much the first and thought we knew what to expect.

The first visit back in 2018 we had a room with an amazing Manhattan view (not requested or specified by us). The second this month, we had a nice enough Brooklyn view. Both sides of the hotel receive beautiful sunset and sunrise views, so we weren't too disappointed about this.

The hotel is undergoing refurbishment at the moment and this was not pre-advised. A lot of the hotel is covered by black curtains - such as the downstairs restaurant, the cafe area and part of the soft seating area. This wouldn't have been an issue but you can't get a reservation in the rooftop restaurant for love nor money. You also can't get up there just to have a drink without reserving/going on a waitlist which I think is a big let down for guests of the hotel.

The rooms themselves are decorated beautifully. The bed is lovely and comfortable. As of covid, you have to request that the rooms are cleaned. We were told this at check in but as I was quite unwell from the journey over I think we mistook it for requesting laundry services. No bed linen or towels will be changed, nor teabags etc replaced unless you request your room is cleaned, so bear that in mind. The lobby and other areas of the hotel are also decorated beautifully (bar the blocked off areas) and the staff are friendly. No options for breakfast other than their $4 breakfast bag which is a piece of fruit and some overnight oats.

The hotel is in a great area. Very walkable to a few shops and some great restaurants. We used the NYC east river ferry to get to and from Manhattan and also down to Dumbo which is around $8pp for a return trip. A yellow cab from the airport will set you back ~$70 and takes around an hour in good traffic. There is no help with luggage at street level which is another thing to bear in mind.

After our first visit I insisted on staying at this hotel again but having now been back a second time I would probably say for the rate of the room, there are other nice hotels on the same road with more amenities such breakfast, as a couple of bars, and restaurants which are able to accommodate hotel guests and restaurant bookings.

My partner and I stayed at the williamsburg hoxton to celebrate our anniversary and I’m so happy we did it! Upon arrival we were checked in by Dan, who was following all of the social distancing protocols, made us feel welcome and was very helpful throughout our stay there. We had dinner on the roof and can highly recommend their cocktails! The room we stayed in had a beautiful view of the city and when we realized we forgot our toothpaste the front desk brought some up for us right away.

All in all it was a totally magical night and I would love to go back. The staff was so lovely, the hotel is very clean and very well prepared to manage the pandemic. I felt very safe and well taken care of. Thank you!

Maybe I expected too much from this US outpost of the British group. My room with NYC Skyline view offered that, as well as a blindingly brightly lit billboard from across the street that literally marred any enjoyment of the more distant twinkling lights of the big apple. Room darkening curtains were drawn tight or I would not have been able to sleep.

The room was ridiculously small for a newly constructed hotel in Brooklyn- no closet, no bathrobe, no minibar - just a single paper carton holding 11 oz of lukewarm water and a tiny drop down “desk.” Not a word of welcome, a magazine— not even any information to be found in the room. I’ve enjoyed better amenities at roadside motels.

The bathroom was tiny too- no space for toiletries, poor light. Small bath towels. Truly a no frills experience.

The reception was adequate but not friendly. The $50 incentive hotel credit was good for a croissant and two coffees in the rather depressing subterranean lobby and four beers to take home.

All in all, a disappointing experience. Several other more inviting hotels in a few block radius would be a better choice, I think.

Stayed here last weekend. Obviously we all are aware there is a pandemic going on, and I found the hotel to be clean + safe. They have contactless room service should you want to opt to dine in privacy if that's what makes you feel the most safe. If you would like to dine "out" and get drinks/food at one of the 2 restaurants in the hotel, all staff are wearing masks and you are required to as well (except for obviously when eating). You also do need to sign in for contact tracing & your temperature is taken. With Covid going on, you will have to ask for housekeeping. I oped not to as I personally was only staying 2 nights and didn't feel it was necessary. All the normal amenities/luxuries that a hotel should have are still available, everything is just modified for your safety.

On a non-covid related note, staff was great and kind! The hotel had great food + drinks, and I loved the decor. I was able to eat at their rooftop bar and the view is amazing! Bed was super comfy in my opinion, and although the rooms are small it was all I personally needed staying there solo. Thought the addition of the pull-out desk in the room was great for somewhere with not a ton of space.

Also as an FYI, if you've never been to Williamsburg before this hotel is in a great spot located pretty centrally to stores, coffee shops, bars, etc, while still being a few blocks removed from that so it's pretty quiet. Also is two or so blocks away from a small park! Everything you could really need is in walking distance.

Overall was very happy with my stay and felt safe!

The Hoxton was a delight. The service team were all hugely friendly, warm and sincere. If you are in need of any advice or guidance seek out Dan or Dan. Both were brilliant sources of knowledge.
The lobby area is a perfect space to chill, work and have great conversations.
To avoid disappointment when the Hoxton describes a bedroom as 'Cosy' take them on their word. It is very cosy...but the bed was really comfortable, the view to Manhattan was amazing and the shower was brilliant.
Suggestion to the owners: I get that it's an American thing to want such big beds but a smaller kingsize bed would provide a little more much needed space to the room and we couldn't unfortunately find two more adults to share the extra space my wife and I had! And I'm not small!!!😂

I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. I was nervous because of COVID, but everyone was wearing masks and everything was signed well for social distancing. This was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in, and I travel a lot for work. The linens were super comfortable, everything was clean. I am sensitive to scents and everything was scent-free. It was quiet, and I slept well. On top of it all, the staff was incredible. They were so welcoming when I checked in late, and the next day gave me great recommendations for the neighborhood, and honestly they all felt like old friends. That’s what made this the best stay I’ve ever had at a hotel. I will be back and will certainly stay here again. Loved it!

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting our daughter. It is a very chic & beautiful boutique hotel with a welcoming common area that has plenty of seating for when you want to just sit and chill. There is 24/7 tea & coffee available along with snacks for purchase. The bed was extremely comfortable and rain shower head with handheld spray shower hose combination. They have the heavenly smelling Blank shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The staff is extremely professional and pleasant. We had a rental car and it was pretty easy to find street parking close by (within 2-3 blocks). The only reason I took off one star in my review is because when we checked into the room 1) The sink would get clogged with running water 2) The TV was missing the channel program descriptions. We let the front desk know and they fixed the issues very quickly. I just expect the service team to catch them before the check-in. I will definitely be back.

This is the 4th Hoxton I've visited so I had fairly high expectations having enjoyed their hotels for many years, this didn't disappoint at all!
Location is brilliant, you're a few minutes from the L Train at Bedford Ave and can get into Manhattan (if you want to) in 15 mins. Williamsburg is an amazing little area, the view from our rom (901) was ridiculous, especially at night - post card perfect view of Mid Manhattan.
The room was spacious and very clean, well thought out and had a great bathroom, lifts are quick and large. The lobby and bar are great, no need to go hunting for a decent coffee shop when they have the pro's in house, the main joy of this hotel is all of the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, you'd forgive a few faults on that basis alone if there were any, but for me this is a spot i'll definitely visit again.

Im glad to read that you enjoyed all Williamsburg has to offer! Room 901! Where to even begin. It is the best room in the house (in my option ;). You cannot beat the stunning views of Manhattan! Watching the sun set from that room is truly bliss! Thank you for shouting the staff and commenting on the friendliness and attentiveness! We strive for excellence here and it is good to see that our service levels dont go unnoticed! We sure do hope to see you back here soon! Cheers, Dan

Loveeedddd my stay at the Hoxton. Great seevice from the staff and great vibes from the guests. I think the hotel just really set the standard with how chic and clean it is that people staying there feel relaxed and happy. Stayed for the long weekend with a late check out so I saw the lobby in total lounge mode and Monday morning remote work mode. Sad we couldn’t dine on the roof but next time!
