We booked our stay at Lefferts Manor B&B from home before our trip, based on website information and photos. We arrived to find that the room allocated to us was terribly small. The head of the bed was on one wall, the foot on the other. The window did not open at all. The airconditioner was old, noisy and ineffective, and the doors had to be slammed shut. Could hear every noise from every room in the house, and particularly noisy next door neighbours made sleeping impossible. Shared bathroom was old, unhygenic and poorly maintained, and the fire extinguisher outside the room was last checked five years ago. Lights were constantly flickering. We were uncomfortable and unhappy. For the money, poor value. Never saw the host in the whole time we were there. Couldn't wait to get out. Have been in better hotels in third world countries.

We were delighted when we found this hotel on booking.com at a very reasonable price in April for my birthday, we decided to stay for 4 nights. Although we wasn’t in the hotel much as we was so busy checking the city out, the owner greeted us showed us our room and made us feel welcome. The room was small yet clean and had a lot of character. It was always quiet and we could come and go as we pleased. You could help yourself to hot drinks, the computer (great if you needed to print any tickets!) and lots more all in the communal area. There was also towels, shampoo, conditioner etc. He also had one of my boyfriends packages safe for us when we arrived. But to top it all off, once we had arrived in the UK I had realised I had left one of my birthday presents in the room in the wardrobe and emailed him on the off chance he would post them to a friend who also lived in NYC to post back to us. I received them a few weeks later!!! You don’t get many hotels that would do that for you!! Thank you so much for you hospitality and amazing customer service. From Paige and Luca X (We will be back 😄)

We stayed 5 nights in August. We read many positive opinions and unfortunately, we can`t say the same about our stay. The pictures shows beautiful rooms, but in fact it is not well maintained (we knew it is an old building, but it really needs more care). Our room was not the cleanest one, some dust in cormers and around windows looked like never cleaned. It was hot, so we turned on airco in the evening. When we turned it off, it was making noise the whole night and we couldn`t sleep. Last but not least - we left on the door "do not disturb" note and guess what - cleaning lady overlooked/did not respect it twice. She made the bed, but thrown our clothes from it into one of our bags, mixing clean and dirty ones all together. Positive side of this BnB - good location and clear instructions for self check-in/out.

I LOVE this Brooklyn brownstone block! It's quiet & clean and the neighborhood is relatively friendly. Stayed for 4 days. Was able to drop off my luggage early and pick up my key. This allowed my daughter & I to hang out the rest of the day w/o rushing back for check-in. The housekeeper even put our luggage in the room for us (3rd floor!). Quiet fellow tenants. Very quaint accommodations and clean. No complaints, outside of location on the 3rd floor. Just a fab stay! I would truly recommend it!
