NU Hotel offers a smart, clean, fresh design along with expert service. Acquaint yourself with this entirely new Brooklyn hotel, conceived to create an authentic travel experience integrated into the fabric of the local landscape. This perfectly positioned Brooklyn NY hotel sits squarely at the intersection of four intriguing neighborhoods:Downtown Brooklyn, home to the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the court houses and the offices at Metrotech center.Boerum Hill, where streets are lined with elegant brownstones and French bistros.Cobble Hill, a blend of old world shops and bakeries and gardens.Carroll Gardens, an old-fashioned Italian neighborhood with wide streets, chic restaurants, and antique shops.A design approach intended to appear effortless, combined with a casual attitude, define the hotel, while the beauty and friendly nature of the neighborhoods ensure that guests feel safe and secure as they explore the gems that Brooklyn has to offer. The ambience suggests an artistic local neighborhood refuge providing a unique, insider's experience. The minimalist, loft-inspired rooms include custom furnishings crafted from recycled teak wood, cork floors, environmentally conscious woods, lead-free paints, and organic bedding. Step into this intriguing and exciting new departure from a typical Brooklyn hotel to discover an imaginative new approach to city living -- smart, clean, simple, and, best of all, casual. Simply put, NU is all about you.

I’ve been taking an annual weekend trip to NYC for the last 10 odd years. I’ve covered most of Manhattan so decided to stay in Brooklyn this time. The NU Hotel is in a phenomenal location. So much good food and drink spots all around the hotel, high brow and modest fare alike. Easy walk to the Brooklyn Bridge as well as to the residential parts of Brooklyn Heights to sit in a local park and relax. It’s right along the F line so it’s one train into downtown Manhattan for a night on Broadway. The hotel is very nice itself. Clean, nice staff, free breakfast that offers more than bagel and boxed cereal - i’d still rather get pancakes and an omelette but works in a pinch. Free fruit, coffee and cookies all day. They have a nice little outside seating area out front to do some people watching. My only complaint is as a 6’2” man the bed is super low...think futon height. Other then the bed height this place was perfect.

I hate to be this person. I was brought up with the "if you don't have anything nice to say..." rule, but I just can't let other people like me spend this amount of money on this experience. Stay somewhere else!! Let's put it this way... the shower didn't have a lip. Which means, you guessed it, the whole bathroom would flood every time you took a shower. Bed was hard as a rock. Pillows were bad. Room was loud. Hallways were loud. Staff was confused. Breakfast was NOT as shown in photos. Yikes. It would be fine if it was an inexpensive place. I wouldn't have cared, buy it wasn't! It was expensive, and I still can't figure out why.
