Love the Arctic, and I always will. The culture is extremely educational. I was up there in the summer months. 24 hour daylight. Tin foil on your windows for darkness, so that you can get some sleep too.
The room was spacious and provided all the comforts of home. The heated bathroom was definitely a plus! The views from the dining area during breakfast were phenomenal. It was easy to get to all of the meetings, restaurants, and sites I desired to visit. The grounds were well-kept and there was convenient parking. I appreciated the graciousness of the host and the thoughtful breakfast provided. Will definitely return!
From the time I made the reservation until the time we checked out I felt well cared for. Staying here was like visiting longtime friends. The rooms are clean and comfortable, private bathrooms. Breakfast was amazing, Bill is a wonderfully talented chef. He is also very knowledgeable and can help guide you on what to see in the area. Priced well--would highly recommend this to anyone.
We stayed there in September. Our room was very nice. We wasn’t so lucky to have some aurora, and we only vaguely saw the Alaska Range to the South, but I bet it should be an incredible view weather permitting. Our host was also an incredible cook, and prepared a fantastic homemade breakfast.
We spent 3 weeks in Alaska (end of August through Sept 16), staying in 5 different Bed and Breakfast's in 4 different locations. Alaskan Viewpoint Lodge was the best! The rooms were top-notch starting with the size, then adding the Orvis décor and the view from every direction. We were also fortunate enough to get to see the aurora borealis from the deck at this home. Fantastic! The host was wonderful and catered to us with great food and fun stories of life in Alaska. We highly recommend the Alaskan Viewpoint Lodge.
