I only stay here for 4 days but it was a delightful experience. Billie is a really nice and thoughtful woman, she pays attention to every single detail and makes sure that everyone is having a good time.
The place is super cozy and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you may need and there’s always warm coffee ready for anyone who needs it.
The hostel also counts with laundry, clean sheets, blankets, towels, parking and wifi. I highly recommend to stay here.

Billie was a wonderful host! I stayed inside the house and was overall very clean. She was very accomodating and kind. Fresh coffee every morning was nice and easy to get around via the bus stop a block away. Only issue I ran into was another guest eating my food so make it VERY clear that it is your food. Other than that, it was wonderful! Hand sanitizer was everywhere for guests to stay clean and she cleaned inside very often.

So as a seasonal employee/ new permanent resident in Alaska I had to stay here before going up to the Gates of the Artic. I resided here for 5 days, through Easter and I couldn't be more happier with how it turned out. I had to get the dreaded vaccine and her gorgeous daughter, Heidi, actually gave me a ride to the hospital so I could obtain it. Pleasant atmosphere, interesting characters. Billies' is a privately ran hostel and it was cozy, alot of coffee, access to cooking your own food, and Billie is a sweet lady that's very warm and open.

My husband and I love staying at Billies Backpacker Hostel. We have been repeat customers for the past eight years. We love the clean and quiet ambiance, the love and hospitality that the owner Billie gives to all her visitors. I have stayed in many hostels around the world including England, Israel and Egypt and I can tell you that Billies Hostel is one of the finest and cleanest hostels I have ever stayed it. If you choose to stay here you will be truly blessed and will want to come back again and again! Best place to stay if visiting Fairbanks.

I really enjoyed staying at Billies Backpackers Hostel. The price was very cheap at only $35 and despite the freezing temperatures outside the building is actually very warm and cozy. The hostel is clean and quiet and the beds are comfortable all in all I had a very nice stay.

I stayed at Billies for a month and enjoyed every minute of it! It's a very clean and friendly place with a lot of nice amenities. And you can see the northern lights pretty good on a clear night!
There's plenty to do within walking distance and there's a bus stop and lovely cafe right down the street.
Billie and her family are very kind and loving people who will spoil you with warm meals and baked goods!
I'm looking forward to returning soon.

Billie’s Backpacker’s Hostel has been an amazing experience for me. Billie is such a sweet woman! I arrived at 2 a.m. and was able to check in with ease. I was worried about staying at a hostel during the pandemic, but that worry was quickly gone as everyone was wearing masks and sanitizing was seen several times a day. The hostel was nice and quiet! It was easy to get into town and around town. I wanted to see the Northern lights and thought I’d have to pay lots of money for a tour but Billie said that I could see them in the front yard, and she was right! They were gorgeous! She is a wealth of information! The rooms were clean! The people were kind and we were always getting together to take a spur of the the moment trip to do something! (The world Ice Art Championship and Chena hot springs in my case!) What was really nice and kind is that the group of people that were there would cook meals that they grew up with, which everyone got to try some. I got to try Gumbo, Bulgogi, Home made German food, even Billie got in on the cooking and baked homemade bread while I was there! To me, this is a lot more than I expected when I booked my stay! I’ve made friends from around the world and I know I have found a place that has a little magic still left in it in this world! I want to thank Billie for being a great host! I’m definitely going back!

Billie's hostel is one of the best hostels you will ever stay in. Billie is such a kind and welcoming host with lots of interesting stories from so many years in the business. She really goes out of her way to make sure that everyone is comfortable and has everything they need. Every inch of the property shows the care and consideration for the guest experience. The amenities and location are spot on as well. I travel a lot all over the world, and this hostel is the coziest I have ever seen and the vibe is pure love. I stay here everytime I'm in Fairbanks, and will always recommend it to anyone!

The beds are clean and the bathrooms are very nice. Billie is a wonderful person to meet! They know fairbanks very well and have resources and pamphlets for various activities in alaska, the hostell is cozy rustic and very nice two bathrooms with showers and laundry service.

I've seen the northern lights many times even just from the porch and across the street is a very good viewpoint for the lights indeed!

I've met many nationalities and various people here and the conversation is unbeatable so interesting to visit and stay in a safe comfortable clean place before a great adventure in fairbanks alaska, if you are reading this definitely give billies a visit summer or winter
The hostell is wonderful! This is my second summer visit to billies and I would love to visit again!

“Magical” is a word that can only begin to describe my stay at Billie’s hostel. I was able to book for 2 weeks last minute, as the home I was originally supposed to stay at fell through, and all I can say is that finding this place was absolutely an act of fate! Billie and all of the hostel guests are both kind and nothing short of accommodating. I barely even had to worry about buying myself food! The location is close to a bus stop, too, which made transportation around town quite easy. I recommend this hostel to absolutely anyone planning on making a trip up to Fairbanks :)

P.S. if you’re worried about seeing the aurora, we got to see it right outside of the house!

i am 100% sure the owner who is very helpful is not going to let you with two dogs outside if you come to visit . i still remember she has also a dog and she loves animals; The best is to send her an email and you will have very quickly the answer.
