Perfect stay - the house had loads of historical charm while offering every modern convenience we required. Our host was exceptional, the food wonderful and the room immaculate. We look forward to returning soon!

From the moment I saw The Schooler House I knew my decision to stay in this B & B was a good one! I immediately wanted to sit on the front porch, which overlooks a beautiful garden, and read book or people watch. I had a very enjoyable time and I cannot think of one thing that I would change.... My husband and I have stayed in many B&Bs... and the Schooler House is now our favorite. We had the most wonderful weekend in Fredericksburg. The house is absolutely beautiful and immaculate. Our room was so nice and the bed and sheets were so comfortable. We slept like babies. Andi and Paul were so hospitable. We felt like we were... More

My wife and I have been visiting the USA for oveer thirty years and this is the best ever. Situated within the historic district and everything is within a few moments stroll. The house has been decorated and filled with interesting antiques, a tribute to Andi's unique artistic tastes. There are only two bedrooms and we stayed in Willie's room... More

Paul and Andi provide a warm, hospitable atmosphere. Their B&B is extremely comfortable and immaculate, and it is in the middle of historic old town Fredericksburg. I parked my car in front of the B&B on Friday night and never needed it until I left Monday afternoon. Plenty of historic sights, restaurants and stores, to include antique shops, within easy... This was an idyllic weekend in an lovely old home in Old Fredericksberg. The accommodations were first rate and the breakfast sumptuous. If I ever have the opportunity to return to the area, I wouldn't think to stay anywhere else. Thank you Andi for your hospitality.

What a wonderfully warm welcome we received at The Schooler House from Andi when we arrived extremely tired following our long journey from Newcastle UK and the rush hour traffic from Dulles. Andi greeted us with Earl Grey tea and biscuitsand nothing seemed too much trouble and our problems were soon eased. Willie's room is superb and what a comfortable... More

On a recent visit to civil war battlesites my brother and I were fortunate to secure accomodation at Schooler House, located in the centre of Fredericksburg within walking distance of the excellent local restaurants and an easy drive to the battle sites of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, The Wilderness and Spotsylvania. Our hostess, Andi, and her husband could not have been more... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Built in 1891 for Mary Schooler, The Schooler House provides guests with an opportunity to live like a Victorian. The home is a true B&B, with 2 rooms, each containing a queen-sized bed, twin sofa bed, bath en suite, gas fireplace, tv, spa robes, and period antiques. The Parlor is a wonderful spot to enjoy the Victorian furniture and pieces, including young ladies autograph books, written in a style and manner from the past.A full breakfast is prepared and served around a Sheridan 3 piece dining room table. The dishes and silver are all over 100 years old, as are many of the serving pieces. In the Winter, the fireplace keeps our guests cozy. The front porch is a great place to watch the town go by. The Trolley and Carriage Tours stop in front of The Schooler House while showing The Rising Sun Tavern, directly across the street. The gardens are full of perennials, carefully selected for their Victorian feel and look. The 1900 corregated metal garage is converted into a lovely garden room for afternoon naps, reading, wine sipping, and just listening to the waterfall in the adjacent pond. For a true Victorian experience where service is our goal, The Schooler House, consistently rated 5 Stars, is the place for your Fredericksburg experience. ... more   less
