The Kimpton Brice Hotel boasts a stylish, modern vibe with its trendy decor and beautiful courtyard, capturing the hearts of guests who appreciate its aesthetic charm. With an ideal location that earns praise for its convenience to Savannah's attractions, the hotel is a favorite for explorers. However, the hotel's value proposition has come under scrutiny due to high valet parking fees and questions about room rates versus quality. While some travelers commend the pet-friendly policy and cozy common spaces, the mixed feedback on service quality, housekeeping, and room maintenance suggests there's room for improvement to meet guests' expectations.

The Kimpton Brice was a last-minute decision for us as our previous reservation at another hotel fell through, but it definitely worked out for the best. We found the hotel to be clean with staff taking precautions with masks and shields and requesting masks be worn by guests while inside, but not enforcing it. We opted for a courtyard view, which was very nice especially at night with the market lights. I loved seeing the big dogs around the property and love that they allow all well behaved dogs regardless of breed. We had the opportunity to use the pool and found it to be clean and private with walls on all sides. Plenty of chairs and places to lay out. The pool does back up to the Pirate House, so it can be loud with exhaust from bikers at times. We weren't provided any info on the pool at check-in, so make sure you ask as there is a code to access it. Towels are provided. The rooms are comfortable and much like all other hotel rooms. Bathrooms are broken up into a sink in the main area and room with toilet and shower. Nothing special on finishes. We had breakfast at the on property restaurant and it was by far the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. Say goodbye to the make your own waffle stations, pre-made eggs and hours old breakfast meats you are used to. All food was cooked to order and very flavorful. I had the avocado toast which I highly recommend and my daughter had the breakfast wrap. Parking is available in the garage across the street for $20/day or surface parking is $12/day, but you have to keep up with the meter if you do street parking. The hotel is located at the far end of Bay Street, but just blocks to River Street and Broughton Street with shopping and dining. Close to all the squares too. I will definitely be staying here again in the future.

I was worried when I read the reviews and yes the place could use some TLC but it is utterly charming, unique, and in a great location with a terrific courtyard.Just go and enjoy the cool furniture, unique layout and the cute dogs—don’t go if you don’t like dogs— they are everywhere. The temporary manager (?) Heather gave us a great room and was delightful. Beds were super comfy. Love how the armoire is painted hot pink inside— curtains super cool and trendy— just enjoy those things. Everyone is doing the best they can in these difficult times— so the wait for them to make coffee took a while— they are all down staff— get over it and go sit outside in the courtyard. The guy who helped us get our TESLA hooked up was delightful— he saved us a spot when he knew we were coming. Would definitely go back. Don’t disagree with the musty smell comments but we always travel with a nice herbal spray— hotel employees were COVID sensitive. We have found that people in the south are not especially concerned.

Front desk personnel very friendly and genuine. However they forgot to give me the wifi password and it wasn't mentioned anywhere on their welcome guide. A big oversight in my opinion. I was a fan of the design and decor of the place.
Now for my gripes: the room absolutely reeked of cleaning product (carpet cleaner?) to the point of making me nauseated. I thought turning the fan on high and leaving the room for dinner would give some time for the fumes to dissipate. Nope. Then I started to wonder what happened in the room previously to require such a dousing with product. By checkout I came to realize this is just as much a dog hotel as human hotel and that could perhaps explain the need for such excessive disinfection. But still, I have worked for Disney and Hyatt and they both use disinfectants that are nearly oderless.
Last thing for which I don't know whom to point the finger at. We had the ground floor corner room with a crosswalk just a meter from our window. The loud beep beep from the crosswalk signal beeped through the night and through the day. Enough for it to disturb my sleep. I try not to be an ableist and understand the noise is there to help our blind neighbors but it should only beep when activated instead of a constant beep every 5 seconds of every minute of every hour. You get my point. Overall I wouldn't choose this hotel again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. While I am happy to see that your customer service was great I am disappointed to see the rest of the stay did not meet your expectations. I will definitely get with our housekeeping department regarding the chemicals we use. We have switched to a more eco friendly cleaning supply which should help with the smell. I want to apologize about the noise near your room as well. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I really hope to make some changes in the near future to help with the concerns you brought up.

This Kimpton has so much promise, but sadly failed the brand.

The good: the rooms were large and looked like (the few) pictures in the website. We stayed in the Premier Suite King with the soaking tub. The bed was soft, comfortable, and the room smelled like it was disinfected. The service was excellent. As a Spire Elite member they surprised us with a large basket filled with local sweets. It was a nice touch. The staff even upgraded us without having to call. The location is also amazing if walking River Street is a top activity. The internet was also speedy and worked perfectly during our workcation.

The bad: the room does smell musty. The building clearly has a moisture issue but being a historic building (like most of Savannah) I wasn’t entirely surprised. I suspect most of the issues are due to the renovation done in 2014. It was clear that the builder who did the bathrooms did a poor job. The tiles also need a power washing to get all the years of gunk from the tile. The carpets should probably go entirely, and you could see wall paper slowly peeling in a few hallways. The shower pipe caused water damage in the ceiling and the plumbing on the soaking tub was not sealed correctly so it smelled slightly if you got close to the drain. The building needs to be closed, painted, plumbing fixed, and refreshed to justify the $200-$300 prices they usually charge.

The ugly: The road noise was insane. Our room faced the park on the second floor and I could hear every car drive by. Although the bed was soft and comfy - I couldn’t sleep much. The second night was tough because a bachelorette party moved in and they were extremely loud. They slammed the door going in and out and were having a very loud good time. Our room had a connecting door so I could hear every word they said. Including their cursing when I asked front desk to let them know they were being a little noisy at 10:30PM on a weekday. Front Desk could’ve handled it better. The next day they left penis shaped glitter all over our door. When front desk was informed they mentioned that they would let the GM know but nothing was done. This soured our entire vacation and made me wish I didn’t spend the money to stay here.

This is a wonderful place to stay in Savannah. I absolutely adore Kimpton hotels so normally check their website first before I head to any new city. Knowing we were headed to town the week of Thanksgiving, we booked very early. I booked a regular king room, nothing fancy but I knew the design/vibe of these hotels are always adorable.

We arrived early but checked anyway to see if our room was ready. Parking is a dream, there is a garage right across the street from the front door. The decor is clean, white, airy and eclectic. Lots of cool furniture, and books displayed everywhere!

We were greeted by Elrico who I saw pretty much every time we popped into the lobby. Although there was a couple King rooms available early when we arrived, he let me know that if I waited until 4PM he could give me a much better location. He did not disappoint. He upgraded us to a suite for our troubles which was on the ground floor right off the courtyard.

The room was spacious and cool! VERY comfy beds. Loved the living room area which we spent some time in a few times.

The courtyard is SO cute at night, string lights and the perfect place to sit and unwind. Pool area was nice as well but it was too cold while we were there. We took advantage of the free happy hour, the bar area is very nice and I hear has a great happy hour but we did not dine in. They offer a number of snacks to go at the front desk which we grabbed a few times in between meals. They are doing all they can to social distance, and make you feel safe during this time.

Will definitely stay here again. Elrico is awesome and such a great Kimpton representative. He made our stay very enjoyable! This location is great for walking around and seeing the sights!

I’ve stayed at this hotel on previous trips so when it came to selecting a hotel for my first hotel stay since the Pandemic began, Kimpton and the Brice Hotel was a no brainer. After experiencing a lack of both customer service and compliance with Covid protocols I really wish I had better researched and read recent reviews of how this hotel had been handling Covid.

We arrived to find a crowded lobby with no front desk support or greeters to welcome guests, assist with baggage, or provide any instructions. I had a dog and luggage that I was unable to carry in one trip and received blank stares when I asked for a luggage cart. If fact, when I finally found a hotel employee they told me that “If there are none out front, we don’t have any”. Oddly, we were also told that we could only receive 1 key for the suite we booked for 3 people because “the hotel is at full occupancy we can’t give a second key”. That’s an excuse I’ve never heard before.

We got into the room and immediately noticed that it had not been properly cleaned or disinfected. There was a dirty cup under the media cabinet and a leftover salad from a previous occupant left in the refrigerator.

We had asked in advance for the pullout couch to be made, it was not and there were not any linens provided. After several tries calling guest services from the room, we went downstairs to the desk to report the cleanliness issue in the room and to request linens for the sofa bed. To their credit the front desk was apologetic that the room was not clean and offered to have a staff wipe down the refrigerator. We declined as we did not feel comfortable with other people in the room due to COVID. We were told again that because of the full occupancy we would have to wait for linens from another room to be cleaned. This was surprising given it was after 9pm at this point. We finally received sheets and an old, stained blanket that looked like it was ready to retire. The hotel did later send up a bottle of wine and snacks, but it was so late and with a long drive ahead of us the next day, all we really wanted was a restful night.

While I understand that the hotel was most likely short staffed, it is not an excuse for the lack of cleanliness and absence of customer service. We had put our trust in the Kimpton brand as I had done in the past and it did not deliver.

This hotel is actually disgusting and absolutely not what I expect of a Kimpton. The building is old and worn down. The room was filthy - hair all over the bathroom floor, sticky stuff on the counters and table, dirt on the couch, to name just a few. I would expect any hotel room to be cleaned thoroughly prior to a guest checking in, but even moreso during a pandemic, and that is clearly not the case at this hotel. The walls, doors and baseboards were dirty and beaten up. The caulking around the toilet was split open and cracked. The window curtains were full
of tears and holes. I can’t even tell you about the shower because I refused to use it. I was happy to only be spending one night. Had I been booked for more, I would have checked out immediately and found another hotel. I should have known it would be bad just based off of the terrible check in experience. The front desk clerk was on her cell phone during the entire check in process. She was actually texting and answering her cell phone while checking me in. And there must have been about 7 dogs surrounding me as I checked in. I love dogs but I felt as though I checked into a pet hotel, not one for humans. And all we could hear were dogs barking nonstop the first half hour we were in our room. My husband went down to the front desk to ask for a wine opener and she said she they didn’t have any. What kind of a hotel doesn’t have a wine opener for their guests, especially a hotel that prides itself on its nightly wine receptions? We have stayed at many Kimptons in New York City and the Kimpton on Grand Cayman and this is a FAR cry from any of those properties. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I wouldn’t even call it a hotel - it is more like a run down motel. Definitely avoid this place at all costs!

Rooms are tired, peeling paint, ugly IKEA type furniture. This is not what I expect from Kimpton. Save your money and stay at one of the lower priced chains along Bay St. where the rooms won’t look so run down.
I had requested a room near the elevator (in advance) and was assigned a room about as far away as possible. Staff agreed to switch my room. Next room was a connecting room and the walls were so thin that I felt like I was a part of the conversation with the guests next door as I could hear every word quite clearly and loudly ! Third room was better but tiny bathroom, no hairdryer etc and ground floor facing the Main Street (Bay Street)
Very disappointing in all respects. . Kimpton management needs to inspect this property and bring it up to standard.

While I was perfectly aware I was primarily paying for the location by booking this hotel, $345 a night was still high, sadly so were my expectations.
To begin with, they charge $40 to park your car, which is decent, if we didn't have to park our own car since no one at the valet could drive a stick shift.
This is an older hotel, which is part of the charm, but it looks old and dirty on the inside. Metal doors need painting, the elevator needs to be thoroughly cleaned and the walls were grungy.
The bedroom was a good size, though not I was made to believe i was paying for. The table under the tv had a massive crack running about 4 feet through the glass top which was very sharp. The window blinds were worn and broken, they would not pull up evenly. The mirror above the sink was broken off on the right hand bottom corner, again very sharp. The paint on the vanity was chipped and there was dirt gathered at the legs. The bathtub facet dripped, the baseboards were chipped and dirty. The paint on the bathroom door and door frames was chipped and the toilet was broken and moved and wobbled when you sat on it.
The roll of toilet paper was all but empty when we arrived.
There was only one trash can in the entire room and that was by the toilet.
Being a Kimpton hotel, i knew about the lack of coffee pots in the room, but at 10:01am on a Sunday morning, the coffee was cleaned up and gone from the lobby. This seemed excessive. When asked about coffee, i was told I could purchase it in the cafe, or starbucks was a block away
The staff were decent, with what they had to work with, but checking out at 1030am there was one lady, who suddenly disappeared. i left my keys in a box after 10 minutes of her waiting to come back.
Thankfully I didn't pay $28 a person for breakfast after hearing from other guests complain how bad it was, and not a brunch at all.
I love Savannah, and i have been looking for my Savannah "home hotel" and had high hopes after other amazing stays in Kimpton hotels. However, this will not be it, there is a very high probability I will NEVER stay in this hotel again, and I will question all stays at Kimpton hotels from now on,

I normally would have given this hotel with its very friendly staff, modern but classic vibe, Uber dog friendly, near to the main drag location, and attached to its own awesome restaurant a 5star review—EXCEPT we left an irreplaceable 2y child’s toy in the room (he can’t sleep without it and he’s had it since he was born) and when we called the next day, we got the old runaround. No one had seen it, no one cared about it, and we kept getting transferred to Housekeeping to leave multiple messages in their Lost and Found dept, to not have ONE person from housekeeping connected to the cleaning of our room call us back or talk to us. There was no effort on their part to even find the person who had cleaned the room less than 24h prior, even after my husband asked to talk to a manager, and even when we mentioned we’d drive the 5.5h back to Savannah and dig through their garbage for this thing if it had indeed been thrown away. It was one of our saddest and least feeling in control experiences as a family (yes, first world problems, I know), and it’s attached forever to the Kimpton Brice in Savannah. So, sadly, even though we did have a good experience overnight staying there, once we were out the door and needed help, we didn’t receive it—so the whole experience felt one dimensional, like it was an act.
