Booked and paid for a premium room but was put in a basic essential room. Bathroom was dirty. Shower tile looked unclean. Hair all in shower and around toilet. Floor was sticky and rug had large stain from cleaner. Was going to ask to move but front desk could care less not pleased with room.
Great hotel. They seem to finally have their act together after several management changes. Lisa, one of the managers went above and beyond to make my visit great. I travel with my dog and she had treats for him and even had a special Thanksgiving meal cooked for him. They are going through a renovation project but it didn’t bother me. This is a pet friendly hotel and they treat the pets like guests. My only complaint is I’m an Inner Circle member and they did provide my free gift until I mentioned I had not received it. As an Inner Circle member they are supposed to have in your room your favorite beverage and snack. When Lisa heard about it she went above and beyond to correct it.
Would have five stars except for the condescending check-in staff! Asked for high floor. put in below ground floor floor room (see pix) We are Elite members. Asked for a good local restaurant -- they never mentioned their own -- gave us a print out of 30+ names. Asked about breakfast style -- told us to go ask in the restaurant....... Valet and all the rest of the hotel staff were five stars. Breakfast, served by Michele, was above five stars and veeeery tasty. Dinner, served by Desmond, was well presented and not rushed. Will back for both of these areas. Rooms were remodeled -- ok yet no "Do not disturb" sign and no bottle opener. Very noisy people on top of us prepping for a bowling tournament! Construction going on -- in the lobby and could not hear that in our room -- remolding will be well done when finished…
The hotel is not at all as pictured. After trying 2 rooms we had to cancel and leave due to heavy mold/mild smell that affected our breathing. The room windows were so dirty it looked like it was foggy out, the floors were a vinyl wood look floor, the metal door to the room had sizable dents, the hotel is under major renovation construction. The check in is at a folding table. The staff was helpful and pleasant to deal with.
We had never been to Savannah and our first experience was nothing short of amazing. We decide to stay at The Kimpton Brice because of a deal through our credit card but we would definitely stay again because of the great location and exceptionally friendly staff. The restaurant was also great!
First the positives: The staff are so friendly and welcoming, especially at reception and the restaurant Breakfast was excellent, especially when served by the wonderful,Michelle Rooms are a good size, and a good spec, although not luxury The wine hour was friendly and generous We loved the location, edge of town, easy walk, but quiet, safe. We loved borrowing the free bikes to explore neighbouring and beautiful Georgian planned squares. The negatives Service overall is terrible. How can so many people manage to do so little and be so unresponsive. We stayed for 5 nights, and asked for more than 6 hangars. We asked 5 times over 3 days. Everyone was ‘no problem, we will do that’, no one ever did. The manager eventually intervened and 2 separate people brought 20 hangars the day before we were meant to leave. Room servicing was appalling, some days they didn’t turn up at all, others they started cleaning and seemed to give up midway. Bed half made and pillows left in the middle. A pile of towels still wrapped abandoned on the floor. We had to go to reception for toilet paper On one evening the night manager woke us up after midnight to bring a razor we never ordered., We were able to joke with staff about how bad they were, but nothing really improved. It was certainly a memorable stay, not always for the right reasons. With a little attention this could be a great hotel.…
The hotel is very nice but the staff sells it. They were absolutely AMAZING! We were here for New Years Day wedding. Restaurant had amazing food (loved the meatballs). Could use more outlets in each room. I don’t dislike dogs but there were way too many. Might be nice to have designated floors for pet lovers. I would stay here again.
First of all this hotel is super dog friendly, so if you are traveling with dogs it may be a great hotel. Maybe you will make an exception for the horrible service at the front desk. Maybe you can overlook that it sounds like a train is going through your room the entire night. But if you are not traveling with a dog… find another hotel. We love the Kimpton brand especially for its service but this hotel should not be a Kimpton. The hotel was loud, packed with huge dogs and the people working at the front desk would be better suited working behind the scenes. When I called to ask for assistance “gotcha” and a dial tone were typical. At one point one person working at the front desk even asked for a thank you from us. I would never stay here again. And I would also like to add that I never write reviews. This hotel was so awful that I felt like I had to write one.…
Our Office came to Savannah for a business merge, Pacci reservation was made by our hotel, ( we never even heard of this place) at the last minute-it increased by 7 people -when we got there. PACCI accommodated and prevailed above an exceptional dining experience. Taylor was an Amazing server and Sarah ( the bartender) sent out drinks that were crafted to perfection. We have to give this incredible service to, having a Manager that has taught her staff well. Lisa was a Gem that you don’t always see in this line of work : on her night off ,she literally seat us, cleared dishes, took drink orders, recommended things to do, made dinner reservations for us at a site that we couldn’t get them, and convinced both : our company and the new partners, we need to have our retreat with “The Brice”..,,..,,and we will…🌟don’t let her go!!!! 100% perfection…
Jasmine (Manager/Front Desk) has made the experience incredible. She has gone above and beyond her normal duties. I had some ost minute document come in that needed to be printed scanned and emailed which she was able to do by leaving the premises to get done. Also checked in several times to make sure my business trip s a success. She is the best !
