Ever since coming to Savannah I’ve always wanted to attend the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade and what better way to do it than staying at the historic Hamilton Turner Inn. The inn and their staff never disappoint and this visit was like no other. Their wonderful hospitality shined through from our greeting upon our arrival, Al’s gourmet breakfasts, surprise lunch after the parade, to everything in between. Many thanks to Tim, Inn Keeper, Erin, Manager, Maggie, and Al, chef. This trip wouldn’t have been as great unless we stayed at the Hamilton Turner Inn! Until next time! Curtis & Lisa from MD.
We so enjoyed our four nights in July celebrating our 50th Anniversary at the Hamilton-Turner Inn. From the moment we arrived until we departed, the service was great. Parking wasn't a problem and the location was great. Breakfast was delicious and Happy Hour was a treat. The Inn is quiet and serene, bright and cheery. If you're coming to Savannah, you can't go wrong.
Lovely stay for our wedding anniversary. Nathaniel was welcoming and friendly. They need to ensure that the services the offer, they can provide. A few days prior to arrival we received a prewelcome email for our stay. Part of the email included an offer to arrange a private carriage ride that would pick up at the Inn which we accepted. However when the carriage didn’t arrive in time we were told they do not do carriage tours that day. This was such a disappointment and wish we knew in advanced so we could make other plans. So don’t offer something you can’t deliver.
We loved everything about this place. Location is phenomenal, staff are extremely friendly. Room and bathroom were great!!!! Stayed at room 301 which is really great. Highly recommended and looking forward to visiting again
What a wonderful, enthusiastic, southern welcome to a beautifully restored historic mansion on quiet Lafayette Square. The stay was full of thoughtful touches - warm cookies on arrivals, wine and rotating hors d’oeuvres every evening, a huge full southern breakfast if you wanted it and helpful willingness to come up with a delicious lower calorie alternative when asked. Knowledgeable receptionists who helped with reservations. We stayed in the Carriage House which was fully redone but if you’re light sleepers or have trouble with stairs, ask to stay in the main building. There are slightly tricky metal steps down to the Carriage House and the downstairs room in the Carriage House (“Flannery O’Connor suite”) doesn’t have much soundproofing from the upstairs. Otherwise fabulous B&B.…
I can't say enough good things about this Inn. From the time you walk in, the beautiful foyer, parlor with a nice fireplace, the decor, and the welcome cookies and flavored water, I just stopped and took it all in. We stayed in the Carriage House, which was wonderful. Be aware, there are stairs that you have to walk up, inside the Inn and in the Carriage House. But I would gladly walk them because I enjoyed my stay so much. They offer an afternoon wine (which we missed), but we did take part in the evening glass(es) of port, with wonderful cookies. The morning breakfast was delicious, red-velvet pancakes, eggs, bacon, juices in a small but elegant setting. My only regret is that I only had one night to stay.
From the moment we arrived, we knew we chose the best place to stay in Savannah. It was everything I could have wished for on my first trip to this awesome city. My jaw literally dropped when we arrived - what a magnificent stately abode! As if we were transported to a bygone era -Simply beautiful! We were warmly greeted by Erin and she could not have been more welcoming. She escorted us to the formal parlor, warmed by the lit fireplace and gave us a quick orientation and history of the home. Happily, we were able to check in early and our room (Thomas Charlton) was beautifully furnished and incredibly spacious. The delicious breakfast was served each morning in the beautiful formal dining room warmed by a lit fireplace. Bailey could not have been any nicer or accommodating - top notch service with a brilliant smile. We truly loved where it was located - quiet area and a nice walk to anywhere you would like to go. Exquisite doesn't even come close to describe this magnificent Inn. The true gems of Hamilton-Turner Inn are the Staff...thank you so much for your true Southern Hospitality. We will definitely come back! Don't hesitate to book...you will thank me later!…
What a wonderful experience during the Christmas season. We enjoyed all the beautiful decorations & the warm welcome from all the staff members. The parlor was so cozy & warm with the fireplace. Our room ( John Habersham) was perfect for our short stay but we did look at some of the other rooms which were fabulous. The breakfast was great & there were cookies, wine, coffee/teas, & port available at different times throughout the day/night. The walk to River Street was fun although a little far but there is plenty to see along the way. We had no problems finding parking close by.
The property was in immaculate condition... The staff went out of their way from the time we arrived to the time we had to check out. Karen was impeccable,at our breakfast, answering all of our questions.... When we returned to the Inn after any excursions whomever was there always asked about our trip. We are going back... lots more to see... and we will be staying at Hamilton-Turner Inn.
The hospitality, food, rooms and really everything is top-notch. The daily breakfast and treats were such a wonderful addition to an already lovely stay. The staff was more than kind and gracious to every request.
