Nestled in a prime location, the Foley House Inn captivates many guests with its historic charm and pristine cleanliness, boasting immaculate rooms and well-kept furnishings. While the wine hour and comfy beds are popular among some travelers, others are disappointed by the limited breakfast options and feel the hotel lacks overall value, pointing to high costs and additional charges for parking. Opinions on the rooms and service are split; they are often appreciated for their period decor, but some guests encounter maintenance issues and inconsistent staff engagement.

This B&B is by far one of the top establishments we have ever stayed in in all our years of traveling! The inn is centrally located in Chippawa Square and you can walk everywhere, or take a pedicab or even the trolly. Food service was delicious and we loved the wine and hors deourves hour where we made many new friends!
Elle and Jennifer were amazing hostesses, helping us find a parking spot, calling for trolly pickup, recommending restaurants, they really made this a five ++ star experience. The Foley House is lucky to have them, those girls really know customer service!
We will be back and recommending this B&B to all of our friends!

My daughter and I spent 4 nights at the Foley Inn. (4/3-4/7/21). We stayed in the Stafford (room 204). The room was very spacious with an updated bathroom including a jacuzzi tub. There was a deck off the bathroom which was a great area to enjoy drinks and people watch. The fireplace in the room did not work and the rugs were very worn, torn and stained. The sitting area in the room is very bright and the couch was comfortable, but stained. The inn takes Covid precautions seriously so we had no worries about getting sick. There is no in room housekeeping services, but every day we were delivered whatever we needed. The first two nights at the inn were very quiet, but on the final two nights, the room next door was occupied by a couple with their dog who barked loudly and often; especially in the middle of the night.Every time anyone walked past their room, the dog would bark. We did not complain because we knew that dogs were welcome at the inn. However, it may be better if guests accompanied by their dogs were kept on a separate floor. There were several dogs at the inn during our visit, but we never heard any others. Parking is available on the street and paid via a meter from 8am to 8pm. We never had trouble finding a parking space. The inn is in an ideal location. Everything is within walking distance. There are nice restaurants and shops close by. If Elle is on duty at the inn, she is a great help recommending which ghost tours are worth going on. Breakfasts were adequate and the staff accommodated us one morning when I preferred eggs and not what was being served. The afternoon wine hour and the available coffee is a nice added touch although we did not partake in either.

I cannot come up with enough positive messages to leave about the inn. The staff was incredible and friendly, regardless of who was working. Most importantly (for right now) they are SO COVID SAFE!!!! All guests and employees wore masks consistently and I was genuinely impressed with their dedication to the safety of guests. Additionally, there is hand sanitizer spread strategically throughout the inn. If you want to keep more to yourself, it is easy to do so through two easily accessible entrances and you have tons of space in the lovely rooms.

The included breakfast was phenomenal, as was the nightly wine reception. Breakfast is staggered with reserved times to keep everyone safe and is a different menu each day. I very much enjoyed the variety and genuinely delicious food! We had a blueberry French toast, scrambled eggs, grits and a delicious frittata while staying. The nightly wine reception was an added bonus where we got to relax and chat with other guests as well as the wonderful staff (socially distant, of course).

The location is exceptional as everything is within walking distance - from Forsyth Park to River Street. So many beautiful sights to see and fun things to do very close by. Overall, I was very impressed not only with their exceptional safety measures but their impressively welcoming and friendly staff - I very much enjoyed our chats with Grant and Elle. I ranted a bit but I truly could not imagine staying anywhere else!

My sister & I decided to get away for 3 nights to Savanah for a quick get away .
She chose the Foley House Inn and it ended up being a very good decision.
The staff were very welcoming & informative, the breakfasts were amazing with made-in-house muffins & coffee put out early if you couldn’t wait until your breakfast time came around.
Our room was on the highest ( 3rd floor ) with a lovely balcony that overlooked a beautiful church and square %
While the carpets are stained and worn throughout the B& B , the rooms are clean and the beds very comfortable with plenty of good towels & wash rags supplied as well as makeup remover
There is a free wine hour in the evening also which makes for a pleasant way to unwind after a day of sightseeing or shopping.
This is close to good restaurants . My sister & I felt comfortable walking to several really good ones .
I would highly recommend giving this lovely B&B a try . In fact my husband & I will be staying there in a month.

My wife and I decided to take a few days to get away while our son was on a sleepaway camp. We had been to Savannah last year and stayed at another B&B which was nice, but had the Foley in our short list. This time we chose the Foley as my wife had a bit of an injured foot and the Foley is in a great location, almost directly in the middle of Forsyth Park and the River St. area. Firstly, we called a few weeks before and spoke to Grant (the owner) and when he found out about my wife's foot, he told us about some of his garden rooms on the first floor with easy access. We asked about one room in particular and he was nice enough to offer to ask another guest, who had already reserved, to shift rooms, which they did. The property was clean, elegant but comfortable, the bed was very comfortable, and given the COVID situation, the prices were reduced, making it a great value. The staff was nice and helpful. We would definitely recommend the Foley Inn.

I initially planned on writing a nice review; the front desk check in ladies were pleasant and the place is in a good location. It was more cost friendly using a third party vendor than going directly through them, so we booked that way. We decided we wanted to stay another night in Savannah and agreed if the Inn granted us the same price we paid the night before that we would stay. My fiancé spoke with Jennifer and after showing her the price we paid she guaranteed we would pay that same price for another night but we would have to switch rooms as our current room was already booked. Due to the Coronavirus scare there seemed to be a very recent cancellation. The morning of our checkout I ordered a breakfast omelet off the menu and received it 30 min later with sausage patties on it, while another table got their food before us even though they ordered 15 min after us. My breakfast was not listed as containing meat as I am a pescatarian and would have asked to leave it off the plate. After waiting awhile for breakfast and needing to leave I just ate around the part that the meat touched, still no big deal and I didn’t want to complain. My big complaint is with the manager, I believe her name is Shanequa. I noticed that my credit card was charged more than the agreed price. I called and spoke with the front desk woman and she said she would get the manager on the phone. As soon as Shanequa got on the phone her tone was very aggressive and she was not letting me speak. She was at the point of basically yelling at me going on about showing her respect and a bunch of nonsense which was clearly made up in her head, this woman was clearly on a power trip. She was trying to out talk me and everytime I went to speak she got loud and spoke over me. I was not being disrespectful rather yet she was while I was trying to explain my issue with the overcharge. She was very aggressive, and on the defense and I’m honestly shocked that this establishment would have such an unprofessional person, no less, a manager be their representation. I am an avid traveler and have never encountered such a disrespectful, unprofessional employee in my entire travels. If I was the owner I would rethink who represents my establishment.

Things we loved about the Foley House Inn and Essex Room~

*The location is perfect! Walking distance to the prime locations like River Street and Forsyth Park. Dinner spots, coffee shops, antiques, street front shops are all close
*Easy check in. Someone was outside to greet us, help find parking, help with luggage and get our check in started before we ever stepped foot into the inn
*The Essex Room is on the first floor. If you have issues with multiple stairs, this is the room for you
*The Essex Room is spacious and the furniture is beautiful
*Love the view from the bay window. Spent a rainy afternoon there reading a book and people watching
*The court yard areas are very pretty and relaxing
*The Foley House Inn is like a mini museum
*If you like to chat, you will hear some fun stories from the staff

Things to know if you stay here (not bad, just so you know)~
*Like other reviewers said, the bed does squeak if you turn a lot in the night
*If breakfast doesn't come with your room, it's available for an additional charge
*When staying in a historical inn like this, I always take in the room and little details help make the whole experience. The room was beautiful, but there were tiny things to be addressed. Lightbulb burned out in chandelier, curtain hanging off the curtain rod, shower door doesn't latch (put down the bathmat first thing) and a water stain in corner of bathroom ceiling. It would also be amazing to have a more ornate vanity in the bathroom. Something that matches the furniture in the room since care has been taken to pick the perfect furniture and decor.
*If you are a light sleeper, this might not be the room for you. You will hear ghost tours talking outside (I liked this and the stories varied by teller), the fountain in the courtyard, doors from people coming and going and chopping and conversations coming from the kitchen area

Would be stay here again? YOU BET!

This Bed and Breakfast is beyond beautiful! Every room is unique in design and furnishings.
We stayed over MLK weekend and even though you could tell the inn was full, the feeling of being welcomed into someone's home was always present.
From the time we checked in, to serving us our last breakfast, Jennifer was the highlight of our stay here.
She was so warm and friendly, helped us get a parking space (!), gave excellent suggestions on where to go and what to do.
She really made our stay special!
We will be back for sure!

Lovely old home converted into an inn next to one of Savannah’s beautiful squares. The room was spacious with a sofa, writing desk and wingbacked chair for reading. The bathroom had a jetted tub and a walk in shower. The tea and sweets in the afternoon and the wine tasting with a substantial spread was wonderful. Sadly the “Southern breakfast” was disappointing. Basically it was a choice of eggs and sausage, French toast or a cheese omelet. I guess siding it with grits made it southern. Only toast choice was white. I got wicked indigestion from the sausage patties and only ate half. There are many wonderful breakfast spots near the Inn so next time will forgo the breakfast and head elsewhere.

We were very much looking forward to our stay at the Foley House Inn based on a recommendation from friends who are avid travelers and who stayed here years ago. Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. The rooms overall are nice, but in need of attention when it comes to fireplace tiles that are loose, painting that needs to be done in the bathroom, and more detailed cleaning that is required in the bathroom i.e. around the sink faucet & removing used bar soap that was left in the shower. As we stayed for 2 nites, we were surprised to arrive back to our room after a day of touring to discover that our rooms had not been serviced. When my husband asked about this at the front desk, we were told that they do not service rooms during a guest's stay and that we should have been updated about this upon our arrival. The wine served in the evening at the hotel could not have been cheaper (large bottles of yellow tale) and upon check out, the woman at the computer didn't even look at us, ask us if we enjoyed our stay, etc. but instead just said to throw our key in the basket. Again, very disappointed with our stay and would not recommend staying here, especially given what the rates are to stay at the Foley House Inn.

No, Savannah has on-street parking. We sell 2-day parking passes issued by the city that allow you to park at any meter. The 2-day pass is 14 dollars. Parking is free on the weekends. Normally guests have no trouble parking within 1 block of the Inn. If you have any other questions, please call our front desk at 800-647-3708. Thank you
