We really enjoyed our trip back in time to a historical, classical, hotel that provided, warmth and Southern charm. We really enjoyed the restaurant that provided great southern food and superb hospitality.

We stayed in the king patio suite and brought our two little dogs. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, the dogs even got a welcome goodie bag. Great location near the Riverwalk area and a 15 minute walk to the market place. A really cool historic building with lots of history. There is even a breakfast/lunch restaurant on the property in the basement.

Great cozy place in Historic Savannah! Great location walking distance from everything! Only down side is the small parking lot. The bar and restaurant in the building were both great as well. The staff was exceptional during the entire stay!

Stayed a couple days on the way to Florida. This is a beautiful historic hotel that has been maintained very well. Our room was great and the furniture accented the history of the building. I’ve seen some reviews about the floors creaking and there being problems with noise. Of course the floors creak, the building itself is old! That is part of the charm of it. My own house is 100 years old and just because floors make noise it does not mean that the building has not been maintained. There is also noise from the street because you are in downtown Savannah. It’s the same as any other city. If you don’t want that then you should look outside of the city. If you want a sleek modern hotel then this isn’t it either. If you want to take in how cool the history is then this is a sweet spot. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The attached bar and restaurant were very good. I appreciated not being forced to valet my car for $40 a day like other places do. The location is great.

The Inn’s location is excellent. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Rooms large and historically decorated. A free glass of wine in the evenings allowed socializing with other guests. We will definitely make East Bay Inn our first choice on the next trip to Savannah.

This is the worst of Savannah hospitality. I made a reservation through booking.com and called the hotel to see if the reservation could be changed or cancelled. Mallory looked up my reservation and in a lengthy conversation with her, she told me yes I could change or cancel the reservation within 7 days of my arrival no problem. When I called back to actually cancel it, Mallory exclaimed "oh you made this reservation through Booking.com! You can't cancel this. We can't even touch this reservation." I then asked for the manager, Susan Powell, who proceeded to tell me I wasn't supposed to call the hotel but am supposed to contact Booking.com and what was I thinking? And there is nothing they can do to change the reservation. I told her about the conversation with the employee and how she said I could cancel it. I was then told over and over again by Susan that I should basically know better than to contact the property and again there was absolutely no way they can make a change on their end. So I am thinking I'm out a sizeable sum. I let her know that I felt like I was being talked at rather than listened to. At no time did she even apologize for the error of the employee she manages. When I mentioned this, she admitted that was a mistake but it was my fault I had booked a reservation through Booking.com. I then went to the Booking.com website and the option below my reservation says "Contact the property to discuss changes to your booking or ask about payments and refunds. " So, Susan, you may need to refresh your knowledge on Booking.com. You made it sound like you are an expert but actually you're just rude and you have no business being in the service industry. Thanks for canceling my reservation after I sent the request through booking.com but why put a customer through that?

We appreciate your feedback. To clarify, the terms of your reservation made through Booking.com were non-cancellable and non-refundable. I made an exception, considering the circumstances, to honor the request to cancel made through Booking.com. Additionally, 3rd party websites (Booking.com, Expedia) do require guests to initiate the cancellation process on their end. I apologize for any miscommunication made by the initial agent you spoke to but ask that you refrain from using poor language and name-calling when addressing any hospitality representative in the future. We truly hope you find your way to Savannah and wish you safe travels.

Barking dogs in the room next door all night! Constant LOUD foot traffic for the entire three nights/mornings that we were in our room. Our room averaged $325 a night total at checkout. We slept in more peaceful hotels on the drive to and from Savanna along the interstates. This was a destination stay that failed miserably.

This is a beautiful hotel with antique furniture and gorgeous, high-ceiling rooms. The hotel employees were all super-friendly and helpful! The hotel is located in a perfect spot, right on E. Bay St. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff, convenient location with accessible parking and fun wine reception in lobby. Room was large and had no noise problems. We were a little concerned about some online reports about Savannah in general, but we had no problems and enjoyed the city very much.
